Except I don’t view the PS5 Pro as a “Lexus”. I just see it as what the PS5 base model would have been had it released this year instead of 2020. That’s how I viewed PS4 Pro also, and that launched at the same price as the base model, which made sense at the time. PS5 Pro is indicating to me that PS6 will likely be $700 or very close, and I find that unacceptable for a console.

This is my primary concern with the PS5 Pro. If this is $700, PS6 will likely cost the same. I doubt it’ll be less. The main appeal of console gaming is affordability. If Playstation goes this route of no longer being affordable, I’ll just stick with Nintendo for console gaming. Nintendo does over-charge for some of their games, but at least their hardware is always priced reasonably.

Because the PS4 Pro launched at $400, the same price as the base model when that launched. The PS5 Pro is $300 more than the base digital-only model when that launched.

The bots on the YouTube world premiere video seem to love it. Can’t wait!

Was it broken to begin with?

I’m hoping Nintendo will offer a console-only variant of Switch 2 with a bit extra power and a budget price, which would be feasible since it wouldn’t require a screen or battery.

I’m surprised they haven’t done this yet. It’s easy money. They should also include the Sonic game from the Neo Geo Pocket Color. That was pretty good from what I remember.

Then why are you buying it?

Doubtful. When PS4 Pro was introduced, the president of SCEA at the time said its primary purpose was to entice PC gamers to invest in PlayStation, and this was before Sony decided to port 1st party games to PC. It was also priced at a reasonable $399.99, the same as the base model when it launched. The PS5 Pro will not appeal to PC gamers at the price of $699.99, especially considering they can just wait a couple years to get PC ports of first party Sony games. The PS5 Pro will only appeal t...

Sadly, no one pays me for my brilliant analysis.

It’ll sell half that estimate at best, at least so long as it remains at that price.

I’ll elaborate. He said one of worst decisions, not THE worst. Maybe you should work on your reading comprehension.

How about $599 with a disc-drive and a stand?

I wonder if this is a sneaky way of making up for the losses from Concord.

Is this the island where all the physical copies of Concord end up buried underground?

Hopefully they’ll add Tetris DX from Gameboy Color. That’s one of my favorite versions of classic Tetris. The NES version is a bit too basic.

It sure would be nice to get a collection of the DS Castlevania games. Make it happen Konami. It’s easy money.
