Anyone else out there playing on ps4 pro? I am and with the latest update I haven't had any major issues. Only about 4 hours in, but it looks great and performance is about what I would expect. Just curious if it is that much worse on plain ps4 or am I just easily pleased?
The only issue I have found is occasionally characters will "twitch " when moving like it skips a few frames of animation and occasionally pop in out of nowhere. May be 5-6 times total. ...
I'm noticing a theme here. In all the reviews scoring it a 7 or less, they whine about the game not going far enough to appease trans people. Not the right pronouns, not enough npc recognition or reactions, too sexualized etc etc.
And herein lies the problem with trying to appease this group. They will never be satisfied with your efforts. You can give them all the pronouns in the world, give them a flag and a national month of celebration, parades galore, over re...
Nail length makes sense, but tooth length? Man, I'm going full beaver for sure! In more ways than one!
Not a fan of the genre but from an unbiased perspective, there was nothing stunning looking there, at least graphically or animation wise. That wouldn't even be considered a good looking current gen game. Let's save the praise for where it is due.
This has bugged me about golf games for the last two gaming generations. Im not graphics whore, but golf, more than any other sports game, calls for a beautiful, realistic game and great presentation. It doesn't have the thrills of team or contact sports, so it is all about the beauty of nature and replicating the visual and physical feedback of man or woman against nature.
On top of that it should be the easiest game to make photorealistic. Honestly, golf games sho...
Easy, bro no need to get so sensitive. Just gave my opinion on the game after playing the beta. If you love it great, I'm not sitting here telling you your opinion is wrong, just pointing out things that made me not interested. Like I said, I'm glad you are loving it, don't get so offended about different opinions.
I'm not expecting complete destructibility here, but other, much larger and more ambitious games at least have the environment react when things happen or utilize a physics engine for enemies and environments. If you are happy with it, by all means enjoy. I was merely pointing out the areas where I felt it falls short of normal AAA games.
To me it doesn't feel like fighting in a world or real environment, but more of a static stage background. This is even more...
Good looking game for sure, but gameplay did nothing for me. Everything just felt so constricted and and....boring. The combat and physics just felt very scripted and limited. When running around with hulk and smashing things with mjolnir, the entire environment should react, not just the one scripted bus That is allowed to be damaged. And the weird hit reactions and enemy animations look broken. That and the new character faces and voices make it hard to get on board. Hard pass for me. ...
Yeah agree it is a great game, but not without flaws. I think the biggest thing for me is the lack of physics. To me, physics are just as, if not more important, than graphics. I think this is one of the only ps4 games I remember playing that doesn't have physics implemented. Things like body physics, cloth and material physics, and environmental interaction are completely lacking. I don't remember seeing bodies levitating off cliffs since last gen, but sucker punch still haven...
I was actually referring more to the weird ironic preaching about violence=bad, yet making a game with the most fun, and brutal combat around. It also pushes a bit of moral relativism, but that makes sense given the setting.
As for the lgbtq stuff, for the most part it doesn't bother me, but you do start to notice them shoehorning it in places. Between Ellie, Dina, Bill, Reily, rainbow flags all around Seattle, new trans character, letters found from gay lovers, Abby...
Agree completely. I keep finding new things that blow my mind. Sure there are some low res textures here and there, but ND focused on the right things. Animation, environments, lighting, and physics are nearly flawless..the fact you can kill a dozen enemies in a huge area and not a single body disappears, and they even maintain all their wounds and blood pools? With as Good as everything else looks, other games don't have an excuse for B.S. like disappearing bodies anymore.

Loving the game so far! The section with the fungalpheliacs and the clicker love triangle was a bit hard to swallow, but a brave story choice nonetheless.
Absolutely. About half way through right now. Still unsure on the story side of things, but I have to say that so far the visuals, sound, voice acting, animation, combat feel, and environments are the best of any game I have played in 35 years of gaming. Very, very impressive stuff all around!
If they hadnt tried so hard to be unique with the story, and preaching it would be hands down the best game I have ever played.
Ive read Druckmans comments in recent interviews and can't say I see what he is going for. I'm glad they aren't just going for status quo, but to say they want everyone to have a very strong opinion whether they love or hate it? I feel like they could have still pushed boundaries without going complete hipster.
Going in planning on a large number of your loyal fans hating your product just to make a point about moral relativism? Also, he has stated multiple...
Yeah, screw Joel and Ellie, they were far too likeable and mainstream. This game will "transition" us to something different.
Damn, this pretty much confirms all the partial spoilers I've heard and fears about the direction of the game. Making you hate the characters you loved? interchanging protagonist and antagonist? All the transgender, gay and focus on diversity stuff? Its like they sat down and said how can we make the most edgy, diverse, hipster game ever. I'm all for diversity if it feels authentic, but the apocalypse looking like a pride parade? Not so sure I would buy it...
Predicting top 3 games of this generation for sure. After hearing the leaks (unfortunately) I can't say I'm a fan of the direction they took the story, but I think the game reviewers will absolutely love the wokeness of it. Although I may not agree with their story conclusion, ND has earned my trust with their previous games so i will wait and try it myself. If nothing else I know the gameplay, graphics, and voicework will be top notch.
Personally I think it looks amazing from a gameplay and tech standpoint. I will have to judge the story after playing it myself. I think a lot of the hate comes from how "woke" people perceive the story to be. Splitting play time between lesbian and transgered characters while fighting anti lgbtq Christians and right wing gun nuts rubs a lot of people the wrong way i guess...
Lost faith in Xbox brand after having 4 360's RROD on me. That opened my eyes to PlayStation as poor product quality is something I can't overlook. After owning a PlayStation 3 & 4 and playing all the brilliant exclusives, I can't see myself ever going back. Honestly the only exclusive Xbox has that I would even be remotely interested in is Forza, while PS has around 10 of them.
I am disappointed a bit, but playing on ps4 pro I am still loving the game. Give it time people. I truly believe that CPDR will turn this around just like they did with Witcher 3. I'm not ready to throw them under the bus for 1 mistake just yet.
Also I just watched digital foundrys comparison and pro isn't THAT much better than regular ps4. Maybe I'm just not picky, but something has to be really rough for me to deem it unplayable. I would say wait a month...
