I can't tell if you are being sarcastic or not. That honestly would not crack the top 50 best looking ps4 games much less a ps5 game. The grass has bad tiling effects, the buildings in the backgrounds are ps3 level, the players still have the plasticky look (since they still based on up-resed models from the ps3 era, static skybox with horrible looking clouds, animations are hitchy and janky in many spots etc etc.
Look I'm a long time fan of the series so I don...
Agree with both you and the article. They pretty much nailed what this game needs. Of they don't go mature with the game, don't even bother. I want to see some dead island 2 level gore. I mean you are literally punching people in the face with knife hands, if you are scared to show the result of that, just stay away.
All these perfect scores just reinforce that they will never truly innovate with this series. I know people worship this game, but as a hard-core baseball fan and long time series owner, I haven't seen any drastic improvements in over 5 years. The negro league addition is cool and all, but it's not why most people buy an mlb game. Maybe by ps7 they will make some noticeable improvements and get the game looking current gen.
Lol, why the hell it runs like that! Classic. Gotta agree though, it's like "it" got something stuck up its rear!
Being that it is next gen only, I don't see any reason this wouldnt be fixed. If there are still long hidden load times, they clearly don't know how to develop games.
Lol it's gamespot, of course they have to inject politics into it. It would be socially irresponsible to NOT mention politics in an article about a game about dismembering digital recreations of zombified humans.
I'm honestly not really expecting much of an upgrade over FW, as all the tech was already built. They didn't really give any specific examples either other than a vague reference to nice textures and more activities in a settlement and a unique battle event. That being said FW is still possibly the best looking game I have seen so not a big loss.
Then again, why go next gen only if not for some big upgrade, so fingers crossed for a pleasant surprise. I'm jus...
It took a looong time for this game to click with me. In the beginning it just seemed weird for the sake of being weird and the combat and everything just seemed so wonky. After playing for probably around 10 hours though, I really started to get immersed in the world.
Although the combat is still not amazing, it does get much better after unlocking weapons and upgrading weapons and skills. Where the game really shines is the atmosphere and world building. The areas are...
This video and some recent previews have pretty much removed any concerns I had about this game. The skill cards thing seemed weird at first, but it really seems like it will allow us to play the way we want. I also just read a preview that pointed out that the nights are sufficiently dark and very creepy in spots. I was hoping the game would still have at least a hint of fear to it and it seems that is the case.
Fingers crossed you can remove the health bars and damage n...
OK I was trying to stay pessimistic on this game with all the development trouble it has been through, but this looks phenomenal. the visuals, sound, atmosphere, and especially the FLESH system look like they come together to make the perfect pulpy zombie game. I'm officially hyped damnit.
I wasn't a huge fan at first, but the voice acting and protagonist have grown on me. The horny robot lady thing doesn't really bother me, but it is Hella awkward when it blurts out things unexpectedly with kids in the room. Definitely a game to play with headphones btw...
Wow thanks for turning me on to ACG. Never even heard him until now, but went back and watched this review along with a few others, and have to say he is incredibly thorough and seems to align with my tastes pretty well. I was having some serious doubts about atomic heart, but he full on convinced me to give it a go. Great review! (And he didn't even mention the politics of the developers or the races/genders of fictional characters!)
Gamesradar also docked Hogwarts for someone not even involved having an opinion they dont like so I would not use them as any kind of source of valid feedback. Still on the fence on this, but GR not liking it made it go up a notch in my book. It's probably just not woke enough for their tastes.
I get what you are saying and have seen others make the comment as well. The problem isn't that someone has a different opinion, as that would be no issue. The problem is a games "journalism" site falsely tanking the score of a major release because someone very distantly involved in the game has an opinion they don't like. What is next every single person involved in the development of every game must sign a form confirming they follow the popular opinion on every topic ...
Same here. The premise and early gameplay looked great, but recent gameplay looked very boring. Like you said backpeddling while poor AI enemies simply walk straight at you and absorb insane levels of damage. Went from an instant buy to a wait and see, but I don't see this scoring better than 7s and a few 8s unless they made some serious recent updates
Yeah would be cool, but doubt they will add this. Also, for being a next gen only, the game looks pretty disappointing. Weird animations, average looking visuals and lighting, and basic to no environmental interactions (no snow interactions, no real physics to speak of etc). I was really hoping they would make some big advancements, but this looks pretty identical to the first, just with more playstyle options. Still looking forward to it, but not blown away by anything I have seen.
This also goes to show why game developers should never cave and try to pander to the woke crowd. Right off the bat, this game introduced a trans character and gay couple, in an effort to appeal to this crowd. It did nothing to satiate their hatred and anger. Just avoid this altogether and focus on the actual crowd who is buying your products without the shoehorned pandering.
Just another political site masquerading as a games site. Cross another one off the list. I'm considering buying a second copy just to spite these trolls.
I'm not sure I like the love interest angle though. I actually preferred Aloy as a character just being kinda not into relationships, but I understand why they went that route.
