Yeah this seems to be one of the most polished AAA games to come out in some time. The only thing I hope they fix from the most recent videos is the fire effects and human enemy physics. Those are literally the only things that look a bit dated to me. I guess that is the problem with making such a stunning game with incredible attention to detail; the smallest imperfections stand out like a sore thumb.
Agree with the author, but not sure they are going to put that much more effort in. I would rather they focus on making a sequel at this point.
The two things that would have the biggest impact would be varying biomes per planet and a better fauna system. The current system you can pretty much know what kinds of creatures you are going to see on every planet. One flying creature, 3 small water creatures, many small mammal types, and if you are lucky a large land creatur...
Yeah looks boring af. Not sure what they are going for here. It's clearly not a sim, but it can't hold a candle to arcade racers like wreckfest either. Just a weird tight course semi arcade racer with no damage modeling and weird physics? I think they were trying to make it have a story or something too, which is the last thing I want from a racing game. Also why do sparks look like yellow confetti shooting out of the cars?
I bought it on ps4 and thought it was OK at best, but I saw incredible potential. I stopped playing after around 10 hours, but definitely planning to give it a second chance on ps5.
That being said, I'm running out of patience. Over a year and still no gameplay or updates on the improvements? My giveadamn meter is dropping daily. Also, if they don't do something that blows me away after all this time, I may well be done with CDPR, as that would make me believe t...
Ha, tigers fan here so I feel your oriole pain! Have to agree with the update model. If they charged 60 bucks for first year it should be like 20 per year to those who bought the previous years or something along those lines.
Great series, but I've played essentially the same baseball game every year for the last 10 years. Until they get a new engine or actually overhaul visuals beyond these minor $60 incremental improvements, I'll be holding off.
Can't wait! Guilty pleasure gaming at its finest.
The game had a ton of potential but they just didn't quite pull it off. The world looked great, but like most ubi games it was too boring with copy paste activities.
I loved the thought of playing as anyone, especially with permadeath, but in practice all characters seemed too similar. I would basically choose the 1 in 50 characters that had a good a weapon. I am glad they tried it though and hopefully other devs will try something new once in a while.
Haha didn't even see your name when I made the comment, but I guess you are as big a fan of horizon as me. I am so pumped for FW, and I think even being a multi gen game, it may be a couple years before we see something top it graphically and animation wise.
As for Elden Ring, I may still give it a go after FW, but it will be hard after playing such a massive game.
Completely agree. I am replaying HZD right now to prepare for FW, and that game is stunning and could pass for a ps5 game in many cases. Elden Ring literally looks like an early ps4 game to me. I know it is more open but it looks to be a downgrade visually from DS in almost every area. Also, the lack of any blood on enemies or impact when hitting them and the way they simply phase through the character when in death animations instead of interacting just kills immersion.
Watching this I was like damn they finally got the combat looking right with dying light 2! Then I realized this is a expansion for DL1, and it made more sense.
I guess I don't see what people are gushing about with the video here. I'm a huge Sony fan, but nothing here other than maybe the high res car interiors doesn't look beyond a PS4 game to me. It looks smooth which is nice, but I have to say Forza looks much better both artistically and technically, and is a huge open world. What exactly is "revolutionary" or more than just a fresh coat of paint here? Call me when they roll out vehicle damage in their "simulation&...
Sadly it doesn't get any better. Some of the puzzles are great, but the locales get boring and the combat is some of the worst I have ever played with horrid AI and weak mechanics. Story is overly serious and boring as well and voice acting took a step back from Rise. Overall I agree with you that Rise was by far the best of the newer games and rivals the originals imo. Hope they either go back to the original style games or make the next similar to Rise.
Also, I d...
I actually didn't mind the new Lara from the reboots, but I also thought the games peaked with Rise. Shadow seemed to get worse in every aspect. Areas were less diverse, and combat was horrid. Enemies didn't bleed or even react when shot it felt terrible.
I would love a reboot that went back to original games more exotic exploration and over the top adventure aspects with some truly next gen visuals.
Yeah the show used to be my favorite series, but they have done very little to innovate lately and visuals have really stagnated.
I think they realized they are the only true baseball game around and the same people will buy the game every year regardless so why spend big dollars on a new engine or overhaul. This is why i only buy a copy every 5 or so years. Not enough improvements to warrant 60 bucks a year.
My only issue is with any sports league signing an exclusivity deal. Competition ALWAYS leads to better quality and more options for consumers.
The show used to be my favorite series, but has done next to nothing to innovate recently. The next gen version is the perfect illustration. There is nothing next gen about it. They need a new game engine but will never implement because theres no competition to force their hand. They are becomming Bethesda with their outdate...
If people read the article, the author states right off the bat that those upset with bugs and performance is one thing, but unrealistic expectations are also a big factor in the hate. I totally agree. People complain about the police, driving, and open world like it should surpass gta. They complain about the ai and shooting ike it should surpass cod and bf.
If you go in expecting an rpg with a great story and incredible world, I think you will love it (once bugs and pe...
To be fair, I believe this was a statement to their shareholders and investors, to prepare them for lower than expected earnings while they focus on fixing things....likely for a long time. Don't get me wrong, I'm not absolving them, but they could just take the money and run so to speak. I don't believe this company is trash like many people, since they do have a ton of talent. They do need to determine who was responsible for making these decisions and show them the door. I ...
It is still a good game, even a great one, but clearly held back by bugs and cdprs high ambitions. The game has more potential than any game I've ever played, but the bugs, oversights, and odd design decisions hold it back. I didn't expect it to be amazing, so I'm having a blast on ps4 pro. The world, characters, and atmosphere are the best I've ever seen. Even just treating it like a walking/world simulator it is entertaining.
One thing I will say, is CD...
People are insane saying this looks the same on ps4 and ps5. Having played both I can confidently say they don't. On PS5 it is hands down the best looking game I've ever seen. On ps4 it is the best looking on that console, but not close to the ps5 version.
Honestly it looks, moves, and sounds so good (even in resolution mode) that I just walk everywhere and take in the sights and sounds. Between that and stopping to take photos every new area I reach, I might ...
