@surgical, it's not the option of mtx, it is the fact that they added them after the review period, with exhibiting prices (40 bucks for a few high end cars, and then in tandem lowered the payout for races they'll were in place, forcing people to either grind much longer or pay to unlock vehicles. If you don't think that is shady, than you must work for Sony or PD.

Throw in the always online crap for a game that is played mostly offline and you have the recip...

People keep buying, they will keep milking for every dime they can get. Gaming is like a drug and gamers are like addicts. Every time there is an article about Sony, Microsoft, or a developer screwing their fans over for more money, you see people on every site acting pissed but then saying "who am i kidding, I'm gonna pay anyway". So why wouldn't they?

I have been guilty if this in the past as well, but as much as I love racing games, I have held off o...

Levii, I'm not sure where this thought that "realistic sims" can't have realistic damage comes from. Maybe just parroting what the developers say because they didn't want to put the work in to implement it? You don't have to "want to crash" a lot to think hitting a wall a 200 mph should at least dent your car or show something.

This is a sim, and therefore should sim every aspect of the sport. Believe it or not, crashing, rubbing, a...

Yeah, I'm loving it as well. I thought I maybe had 40-50 hours in the game, and I just checked it was over 90! When the game looks, sounds, and animates this well, I spent tons of time literally just walking around and taking in the sights and sounds with no rush to complete the game. This is one of those games I kind of dread completing because I don't want it to end.

It's only temporarily 10 dollars before it jumps to 40, and it still costs 10 dollars even if you already bought the game for 60 bucks on ps3 and 60 bucks on ps4. I think that is the problem. They are only releasing this update to get more suckers to buy virtual money on gta online, so why not upgrade for free?

They have already milked 6 billion! dollars out of this game, and we will probably see it on ps6 at this point. I am more pissed that they couldn't even b...

They are saying 3x faster than ps4, although I think thay was 3 minutes so still quite long compared to real ps5 games.

Hard to go back to "only" 1 minute load times after forbidden west loads the best looking game world ever created in 3 seconds. Think I'll pass playing this again.

Have to agree. I don't think it is that controversial. Gt has always looked great, but never went overboard with visuals. They have always been more about the feel and experience. Forza clearly put a bug focus on visuals and it shows. Although the handling is a bit more arcadey fan GT. To each their own. I enjoy both, but slightly prefer the look and gameplay of forza.

Should have known with Rockstar not showing a single second of gameplay before release. Add in the fact they are only charging 10 bucks initially shows this is just another cash grab.

Honestly it's clear they just wanted another avenue to milk gta online for a third console generation, so why not just make this a free upgrade? Jesus the least they could have done was release the gta online vehicles for single player or hire some of the community modders to actually ...

Yep just one of about 10 frustrating decisions the developers made with this one. Could've been great but instead it is poor all around.

To me, the car collecting and progression through a waiter in a Cafe giving you menus is weird. Maybe that part turns off a gearhead? It just seems quirky and weird for a hard-core sim but whatever.

As far as the third person view, I typically use first, but occasionally I like to mess in third, and it does seem poorly implemented in GT7 from what ive seen. Like the track is moving past your static car. The camera does not swing out for turning, and you can't rotate...

I think being called beta testers is a bit overly dramatic. There are a few minor graphical bugs (of which I haven't seen a single one worth mentioning), and few mild quest and world bugs. Graphically, it is still hands down the best looking game of all time. Quest and world bug wise, I would rank it in the top tier of aaa games in the last few years stability wise.

Yes! Thank you. How this got past the drawing board is beyond me. Look, this is one of my favorite games of the last few years, and I love that you can turn off most of the ui and hints and directional guides, but it really kills any sense of accomplishment when Aloy tells you what to do right away.

I mean Ashley Burch is a great voice actor so maybe they wanted to get their moneys worth, but damn! You don't have to narrate literally everything you do..."thr...

As much as I am loving this game, I agree that the story doesn't quite live up to the original. That being said, I think knocking it down in score for this is a mistake. It's not so much that the story is lacking as much as it is a compliment on how good it was in the first game. The sense of discovery and plot unraveling combined with the ultimate high stakes in zero dawn, it was always going to be impossible to top this in a sequel. I think Gorilla Games did everything right here...

Having a Samsung 7 series, I noticed that by turning off gaming mode on the TV and disabling motion blur in the game makes fidelity/resolution feel incredibly smooth. Maybe this is just me, but I am actually preferring this to performance mode by far after figuring this out.

OK I guess I didn't take individual websites scoring methodology into account. It looks like VGChartz do have scores lower than most sites, although their median still sits at 70. Can you tell me where you find the explanation of their scoring scale? I was unable to find it anywhere on the site and I'm curious to see how they break it down.

It sounds like you are correct though, as in the comments under the review, someone from the site claimed a 7.5 is a fringe ...

My thoughts exactly. Playing on normal difficulty, the 30 fps is fine, but on my next, harder playthrough I will def go with performance

1444d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

While I agree they should use more of the scoring scale, I was merely commenting on how games are typically scored scored these days. Basically 5 out of 10 points are granted just for producing the game and points are incremented from there. Games scoring below 50 and really even 60 are few and far between, and are really practically unplayable in most cases. If games were scored accurately, you would see just as many scores below 50 as above, as it stands, the vast majority of games scor...

Yeah it definitely may have something to do with the TV. I typically can barely tell the difference resolution wise between modes in ps5 games, so it's an easy choice for me to go performance. Here for some reason the bump in res seems huge while still feeling smooth as butter. My TV is a Samsung tu7000, which isn't known for being a top tier gaming TV or anything, but FW just runs really well imo.
