Wow, this is starting to look phenomenal! Some of the best visuals I have seen and the fact it will be 4k/60fps on current gen is impressive. It sounds like they really put a lot of effort into optimisation.
Really loving the atmosphere and story from what I have seen. Getting serious bioshock vibes from it. Fingers crossed it turns out well, but this could be the sleeper of the year.
I don't know, I feel like it has always been that way with scoring. A 7/10 isn't bad, but it typically means an acquired taste or for hard-core fans of the genre only. Besides, almost all game scoring systems that score out of 10 use 5 as a terrible game. Therefore you can look at the scale as really only being 5-10 therefore a 7 is closer to terrible (5) than it is to amazing (10). At least that is how I've always interpreted it.
Yep, more people need to take this stance. Every time I hear about a boycott because someone who works at some company has a different (completely legitimate) pov, I am MUCH more likely to purchase thay good or service. Nothing I love to see more than a boycott backfire!
Exactly! Naughty Dog played this up like they put years in redesigning it. Nothing changed except a slight bump in the already good looking visuals from the remaster. Clear cash grab plain and simple, but since everyone loves Naughty Dog they get a pass. People are opening their eyes to Rockstar I hope they see ND is following down the same path.
I'm playing the witcher 3 on ps5 right now and I can definitely say it is a better upgrade than tlou part 1. Sure the ...
Yep, dead on. I already bought it twice at full price as I loved the original, but this is only worth 70 bucks if you've never played it. They couldn't even bother to uodate enemy placement or add new features from tlou2 like dodge or prone. I used to love Naughty Dog, but this was a clear cash grab. Let's stop giving these huge corporations so much credit.
@behind, it looks better for sure, but 70 dollars better? I mean they didn't change sound, character models, animation(other than a few minor exceptions), map layout, gameplay, or even enemy placements. If it was ps2 to ps5 level jump maybe worth 70 bucks, but going from re-master to remake we are talking a decent looking looking ps4 game to a good looking ps5 game. I wouldn't call that night and day but a decent upgrade.
Whoa, what now? Are the developers Klan members or something? Haven't heard anything about hate group donations. Unless you are categorizing everyone who disagrees with you as a hate group?
Not really swayed by the article at all, but I'm starting to come around on this game. As someone who is not really a Harry Potter fan, it is clear the team developing this has put a ton of love and effort into this.
I know a lot of people are pooping on the devs, but I'm not ready to fully write them off yet. Granted I'm not planning to pre-order or anything, but after watching quite a few recent videos I'm cautiously optimistic. They seem to have really ...
Yep totally agree. As long as they make it super difficult and souls like, everyone will love it and give it a pass for all of its shortcomings. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy these types of games, but they don't get held to anywhere near the standard most games do.
Yeah check it out for sure, I wish they had the demo earlier. I still rate it as my favorite game of all time, but wish I didn't drop full price on it for the third time. The graphics are nice but honestly not a huge upgrade. There are a few neat little controller updates, but it is still a $70 10 year old game with a fresh coat of paint. If you haven't played it however, prepare to be blown away.
I wasn't comparing the combat in the new games to the originals, I was comparing it to other modern games. It just felt very lacking in comparison but glad you enjoyed it.
Yeah no. As an old school fan of the very first tomb raiders, these games were mediocre at best. I will differ from the crowd and say that I thought Rise was the best of the three, but with Shadow the game got worse in nearly every single regard except maybe puzzles.
Shadow had seriously some or the worst combat I have ever seen in a modern game. It felt weird that they were trying so hard to be mature and dark, but they made combat feel weak and censored like a wii gam...
Really looking forward to this one, but not sure about the card deck thing. I feel like it kind of removes any strategy and planning if mid strike you can just completely rework your character. Last time they showed it, the game looked phenomenal, but I'm still skeptical. It's been in development for so long i feel like something is going to be off with this one.
Haven't played a ff game since the original ff7, but just noticed that the game is rated m and includes blood and gore...is this something new? Don't remember dismemberment, gore, or even blood unless I'm just forgetting. Are they trying to westernize the series more?
Yeah that sucks sony still hasn't fixed that bug. My ps5 constantly downloads the cyberpunk ps4 and ps5 versions and a few other cross gen games as well. Frustrating...
Anyone else having issues updating on ps5? When I check for updates on the game on main screen is says an uodate available in downloads, but when I go to downloads there is nothing there. I also had an issue trying to install my expansions because I didn't have the special edition.
Just finished replaying forbidden west and GoWR and this a huge downgrade in pretty much every area. For being next gen/current gen only I expected more, but this comes up way short of what I would expect.
Performance was poor, lighting and environments felt flat, world is boring and empty, and it just feels set up to funnel you through to enemies as opposed to FW where everything felt authentic and lived in. I guess I don't get the love here. Other than some dece...
Looks incredible and like everything that Dying Light 2 should have been. Still seems a bit too good to be true though. For a game to look this good and polished after being in development for almost 10 years, switching engines twice and developers 3 times? Consider me skeptical. It looks like the quintessential FUN zombie game I have always imagined, but I won't believe it until I see it.
Anything in particular? I'm truly curious, because although I am loving the game, I haven't seen anything that screams impossible on last gen. Don't get me wrong it's a beautiful game, but I just replayed gow2018 before ragnarok, and they are very similar graphically.
Things like invisible walls everywhere, lack of interactivity, instantly disappearing bodies, weird animation hitches, "hidden" loading sequences all scream last gen. I know I will...
Andy, have you played any good or even decent games that have a 5 metacritic score? I can't think of any. I'm not saying that is how it should be, but that is how reviewers score them. It's like the games are given 4-5 points just for being developed and then can only go up from there.
