The indie crowd is the place to look at horror now I think.

I think series like Silent Hill have been overdone. Maybe the last few games were ok, but over doing something, especially horror, can diminish the quality. The next could claim be the darkest, eeriest, unsettling and scariest one of the franchise. But you've seen it all before.

Personally, I think horror needs to change to have impact. You don't watch Halloween 8 or Friday the 13th part 7 f...

Even if someone like Kojima was to help create the next Silent Hill, I don't know if it could be saved. The biggest mistake you can make with horror games or films is to do too much. Silent Hill has 8 installments. I just think there needs to be a point where you say 'Stop'.

I really liked Lionel Starkweather in Manhunt. He was voiced by Brian Cox who is a terrific actor and because of that, really brought that character to life even though you only hear him through a voice receiver for 98% of the game.

It really made me feel that, even though he's making you do these inhuman things, he is still a guy, he's a person. But he's also getting off on it. So then when he tries to dispose of Cash because he's got what he's needed an...

You know, I'm guessing some serious hardcore Borderlands 2 fans will jump in and slate this guy for what they think is a review written to gather hits for being lower than the average score at the moment. But this is actually a very well written review and the writer is clearly expressing what he thinks is wrong with the game. He doesn't do in a childish way, or a way to gather hits. He clearly enjoys the Borderlands games but simply expresses that the game can fall into some bad habi...

Borderlands 2 came with my GFX card, I picked up Borderlands in the Steam sale and enjoyed it. The sequel improves on everything.

I think the game finally had me when one of the bandits cried out "I AM THE ONE WHO KNOCKS". Made me smile.

Considering MMO are designed to be practically lived in for years and years, no, it can't.

The loot system isn't built around an Auction House.

Take, for example, that I'm playing a very different but still very loot driven game of Borderlands 2. It's nice to find a weapon that betters your current one. Maybe it was luck, maybe you killed a difficult boss and earned it.

You don't get that in Diablo 3. It's all randomized. Chances are, you'll need to go the auction house to get the loot you need. Kind of a let down in a game...

I have a love/hate relationship with these games. I'm the type of player that needs to do everything on the map. The first inFamous, I had found nearly all the blast shards, then my console died. Heartbreaking.

Go ask the 3 million people on Steam at the moment.

I was wondering why you talking about Fear Factory just randomly, then I saw the guys DP. I always struggled with Fear Factory. Demanufacture and Obsolete were stellar albums but apart from those, I didn't listen to much else.

As games have evolved so has the audience.

Way back when gaming was methodical and thanks to no saves, you either got good or you got nowhere.

I'd say say these days, there is an audience for it but not as big as it was. I remember when Demon's Souls was released and many, many gamers and reviewers were complaining about the difficultly. I believe many said "Gaming is about fun, not being frustrated" I know this doesn't apply to all, but...

You say that Microsoft's actions effect the entire industry. Perhaps. I haven't seen many other service that force you to pay a subscription to play online.

The major ones being:

PSN: Free
Steam: Free
Whatever Nintendo Use (Sorry I don't own Wii): Free.

Non of these companies show any sign of saying "RIGHT, you need to pay to play now".

I love the PSN. Between my Xbox360 and PS3, PS3 has ...

This to me is just a massive excuse to stir things up with your big wooden spoon varnished with the tears of fanboys.

Read above: "UUHHH YOU PAY FOR XBOX LIVE LOLOLOLOLOL" so what? What's it to you what services people use and don't use? If you don't want to pay for XBL then don't but don't bitch at the people that prefer XBL to the PSN.

Each has their benefits and short comings.

I was about to turn 21 and my parents were asking me what I wanted for my birthday. Normally I don't want anything. I'm not one to celebrate my birthday because I'm usually in the position to buy the things I want myself. So I'm cool with just a home cooked meal with the family.

That year, however, my parents were saying "You're going to turn 21, what do you want? We can have a party for you, rent a room, have all the family and friends round, what do...

They also put a blog post up awhile back. They revealed they were working on 'wearable technology', something like the Google Glasses things.

So I wouldn't be surprised they were working on other hardware as well.

SOMEONE HOLD MY RINGS!

Seriously though, I know people are entitled to their opinion an all but Demon's Souls is simply a great game.

Put into the context of a challenging game that pushes you and can make you scream in anger and then jump out your chair in joy and the elation of winning and the hours you put in because it's so addictive, Demon's Souls is a stellar game. Non of this cinematic crap, straight up gaming.

From what I read the game was nicely received. Maybe not hollow words thrown around like "Stunning" and "Awesome" and slapped with a few 9's. I heard people say the game had depth emotionally and that can make up for a lot.

I've heard it's quite good and I am going to pick up in the future.
