I just skipped most of your post because I know the whole story of the God of War games. I've played them many times.
God of War 3 felt odd to me. Don't get me wrong, I played the crap out of it and got my platinum for it and over those many play throughs, it just felt strange story wise. I can't put my finger on it but things just felt out of place to me.
But the hack 'n slash as a whole, I rarely play for the story. However, I do remember w...
I remember on the Day Z forums people talking about WarZ and when people would insult it or call it a rip off, people would jump in to defend it and say it had been in development since before DayZ was.
After seeing WarZ, I don't know. Perhaps something was in development but DayZ came along and someone went "Wow, that's really popular...and free...lets turn our game into that and charge people for it and have micro transactions as well!"
I...
I'll never forgive him for creating a great free mod that is enjoyed by millions of people. That selfish SOB. What RIGHT does he have to criticize unethical developers that made a rush job of a game and lied to their consumers about things in the game. What right does he have!?
Managed to scoop up a special edition of this when a site I use emailed to let me know they'd had a small supply in. Sadly we don't get it til the 1st Feb but I think it'll make a nice addition to my collection. Looks fantastic, an innocent and beautiful looking game.
I never quite understood the arguments for this whole Devil May Cry clusterfudge ordeal that's been happening since they unveiled the game.
Dante isn't an in-depth character nor are the people around him. They're action games in which you play a guy in a long coat with a sword and guns that kills hordes of demons. By the end of God of War 3 Kratos was now a hateful, rage filled killing machine with no depth and who complained? No one because they knew what the gam...
Manhunt was phenomenal when it came to atmosphere. I remember playing it when I was 15/16 and it enveloped me completely.
It was a very slow, methodical game as you moved from shadow to shadow, stalking your prey (was even better in Hardcore Mode) and waiting for the right time to pounce.
I loved the prison level. It had a great 80's horror film synth soundtrack and the prison had a dirtied white walled look straight from a horror film. The atmosphere the...
I watched this video and he doesn't try anything. He just asks him questions regarding violence in relation to video game violence and he gets the answers and is fine with that.
Put your wooden spoon away, Kotaku, you're not stirring any shit up today.
"IT'S SEXIST" some women will cry...then they'll go and cosplay the shit out of it.
He was just boring. Maybe if he didn't have to follow in Ezio's footsteps I'd be thinking "well...he's ok" but from the charismatic Ezio to this emotionless lump of wood makes him dull and unlikable.
I assumed Half Life 3 would be 2014. Just feels right to me.
However, if Valve are kicking off their own console, I'd imagine saying "Oh and every Steam box comes with Half Life 3 installed and ready to play" would make it a big hit.
I haven't met any Zelda fans that detested the art style of Wind Waker. It proved everyone wrong when it finally came out by being amazing. The only criticisms I've heard for WW are that it was a little on the easy side and I personally think those people are clutching at straws.
Should also not that because of WW art style, the game as aged well and still looks good to this day. Any art style they go with will be fine because regardless, it's the same Zelda formu...
Max Payne!
This will be a never ending cycle and who is to blame? I'm pointing at you, media.
Did you know there was another in Pennsylvania a few days back? You see, you give this mass murdering twat mass coverage over his crimes and this causes some other unhinged loner to do the same because he knows he'll get the same reaction.
So the news and papers focus on the killer. Always the killer. His weapons. His clothing. "Oohhh he didn't have a facebook ...
I hear people often ticket off the same boxes when discussing female protagonists - Strong, independent, intelligent and generally things most lead characters will have.
How about a game where we follow your typical woman through some tragic events in her life and we see her change gradually throughout, perhaps the choice we, the player, make will change her outcome.
I see women and guys discuss this female character stuff and it's always they have to be...
I thought the first Dead Space had some mild scares and a decent atmosphere but really, I don't find Dead Space to be that scary. You get a lot of guns, a lot of ammo and you become a unstoppable killing machine.
They're well polished, well made games, they just don't appeal to me as 'survival horror's.
Yeah there are some crappy F2P games out there, but there are also some god awful £40 games out there.
But look at the heavy hitters that use the FP2 model, like League of Legends. That's one of the most highest played games in the world with numbers that overshadow the likes of WoW.
The FP2 is on the rise simply because they're getting better and better. You pay £30-£40 for a game and be dissapointed and it feels like you wasted your m...
So you changed the title on the article but left the one on N4G untouched? Kind of just asking for hits, right?
One thing girl gamers need to stop doing - calling themselves girl gamers. If you play games, doesn't matter what gender you are. I don't refer myself as a guy gamer. I just enjoy playing computer games, as do millions of men and women.
Drop the girl gamer crap. You're not unique and different.
Oh and this....
What made Demon's/Dark Souls so unique was how the single and online were connected by thin threads. It was so different but so refreshing from lobbys and mics and people screaming and PvP and battle arenas. Having someone invade your game was easily one of the scariest things that could happen when you journeying towards the next boss fight. Why change this? Never separate them. You have to take the good with the bad and the bad with the good because that's how these games work. Ever...
Sounds next-gen to me.
