Better, but it still feels lacking. I know it's not a fair comparison at all, but after Borderlands and Claptrap you have to inject some sort of personality into your robot/AI characters. I admit I wish he would have read the lines as Tyrion Lannister. That would have been super entertaining.

You should always be cognizant of what your competitors are doing, but there is very little crossover between Nintendo and Sony.

Yeah it's probably ~160k. Although this is in a five week NPD month. It's still a big improvement, especially considering it's at the start of the summer drought. Not sure what the baseline on these consoles are going to be, but the Xbox One needs to get some positive momentum going.

This is a start.

Activision just needs to sell the IP to Sony. They aren't going to do anything with it.

This just seems petty.

I've owned a PlayStation, a PS2 and a PS3. Because of this, I have complete confidence in the PS4's exclusives.

If, in a year from now, PlayStation Plus doesn't have at least a couple retail AAA games, then we can complain about PlayStation Plus (those that need AAA at least). As of now, it's unrealistic to think a publisher would give away a AAA game right now for a new console. Plus, pun intended, a lot of the indie/smaller games they have offered have been really good.

For those that say both are businesses, and both just want to make money: of course that is true. But there are very successful companies that put customer satisfaction as a primary goal to increase business. Amazon and Valve are two great examples. They both make a ton of money, and both emphasize making customers happy.

Sony, or at least the PlayStation branch, have been working towards the same goal of making the consumer happy. It's still not perfect, but I do genuine...

There have been games where I knew I wanted to play them but I wasn't confident enough that I would really enjoy the game enough for me to buy it at launch because it is the type of game to come to PS+. Strider is a perfect example. I'm sure it's a good Metroidvania type of game, but it didn't interest me enough to gamble buying it for full price only for it to be free within 6 months.

With that being said, I don't avoid games I'm really excited about ...

In a perfect world gamers would accept both AAA games and indie/smaller games, and that every type of game that is good could be profitable. Right now it seems like the AAA market is constricting a little bit, but indie and smaller games are seemingly becoming more profitable than they ever have.

Personally, I love that I can play inFamous: Second Son one month, Watch_Dogs the next, and then play a few smaller titles like Transistor, Child of Light and Valiant Hearts the next...

And don't forget about the TV stand for the TV. Or the duster to keep it clean. Or the house that the TV goes in. Obviously they must be forgetting to factor in the cost for electricity for these "fancy consoles."

PC gaming master race, amirite?

Here's the truth: for $400, you aren't really going to be able to build a PC that is as powerful as a PS4. If you look for money saving deals like buying a component out of the box, you should consider buying a PS4 off of eBay for $350 (maybe less). The money just doesn't add up. But even if you could...

Buying a PC that is as powerful as a PS4 is going to get quickly outdated. In fact, there would already be the majority of more taxing, AAA type games that you wo...

I think it's really smart, especially if it's a repurposing of a game such as Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon. In BD, you don't have to have every played a Far Cry game nor own Far Cry 3 to play it, and it's a completely bonkers, awesome standalone experience made by a small team based off of Far Cry 3. It's an inexpensive way to make DLC that isn't dependent on people buying or still owning a specific game.

That's a pretty elitist attitude. I get that the PS4 has been designed and advertised as a game console while the Xbox One was designed and advertised as a mulitmedia entertainment device, but there are still plenty of reasons a gamer would want the console. Even if they get an Xbox One only because of Halo, that doesn' deny their existence as a real gamer.

Nice inflammatory headline there.

Look, there are legitimate reasons to get any one of the three current gen consoles. To me, I think the PS4 is the best overall choice, but that doesn't mean I think it's objectively the right choice. As long as you, as a consumer, weigh the pros and cons respectably then you should feel good about whatever console you ultimately decide on.

And if you can get more than one, then all the better.

I agree with you, it is unfortunate. I think the reason is maybe because gameplay transitions into "cutscenes" fluidly and often, so it might be jarring? I don't know, I don't have a great reason.

I'm pretty sure there won't be any form of co-op, but I really hope I'm wrong. Whether it's online only co-op during the campaign or a horde mode, I think it would add a lot of value for the game. Personally, I'm fine with only a single player -...

I read somewhere that you will be able to tap out Morse Code with the Touchpad. I don't know if it has any gameplay reason to be there, but that's a pretty neat feature. If they can make some actual use of it? Then awesome.

So you are saying that a Third Party game has to be given special treatment on a Nintendo console? Yeah, that's not an elitist attitude. The fact is Third Party developers develop a game for a lead platform, and then try to make th...

I don't think it can be seen as anything other than positive. It may not make a big difference with the Wii U, but if Nintendo is able to create some more diverse, mature franchises like Xenoblade Chronicles then their next console has a chance to offer games for every demographic.

Also, I feel the need to point out that "mature" doesn't even have to be a violent, M rated game. Journey is a very mature game, and based of aesthetics alone it would look like s...
