Looks like they did an amazing job.. Now please add HDR please
@baboon56:
Xbox One version is 16.12GB
PlayStation 4 version is 16.6GB
Xbox One X and PC versions are 18.5GB
Both the PC and XBox One X are running higher resolutions and are also over 2GB bigger in size. Unless something really strange is going on, it is due to textures.
The PS4 Pro being exactly the same as PS4 is really a shame. I wonder why they did that, especially since they have the higher res textures for Xbox One X and PC.
They should just remove the Keyboard Option. I am fine with games expecting a controller but they should be upfront about it. I plan on playing with a controller though regardless so still excited for this.
Wish Witcher 3 was getting hdr
Yes it is, which is awesome. Mirrors Edge also got updated.
@kevnb: Xbox One X on day 1 will surpass PC as far as HDR content which is a bit sad. Frustrating that games like Gears of War will have HDR on Console but not on PC. It is definitely an issue. And yes Windows 10 totally screwed up HDR. Not just Windows 10 but also Nvidia. I had to go back to a march driver to get Mass Effect HDR to work right and even then Dolby Vision no longer works.
It will still look good and most games don't support HDR at this point. But HDR truly is amazing. When you can upgrade I would highly recommend it.
Damn, that is some patch!
Xbox One X players can choose from one of three visual modes:
Native 4K: (full 3840 by 2160) for the highest fidelity resolution
Enriched Visuals for stunning graphic upgrades
High Frame Rate for the smoothest possible gameplay
New Xbox One X tech enhancements for Rise of the Tomb Raider include:
HDR display support for more vibrant and accurate color representation
Spatial audio suppo...
Sadly this is very true. And sometimes even when it does have it, it is near impossible to activate "looking at you Mass Effect".
The issue is that on most TV's you have to select Game Mode HDR if you want a good experience due to input lag. But you can still make some adjustments that might help regarding OLED Brightness, picture brightness and contrast etc. Also if you are on an LG TV changing the Input Type can also help. Setting the Input Icon to PC or Game Console will give you different options available to modify. Game Console mode will allow you to adjust Dynamic Contrast etc.
That is unfortunate.
I have been putting off Fallout 4 due to other games taking my time, might get it for the X. Although I wish it was a Play Anywhere title, I still plan to spend most of my time on PC
I would just expand the studios they have. Rare, Coalition, 343.. Have multiple teams at those studios working on multiple games.
Supposedly my TV "LG C7" can do Dolby Vision with 4k 60 and also has a game mode.. but I can't get it to activate so I can't tell you for sure. I mean, I can tell you it works at 4k 60 and has a game mode from the built in apps but I can't tell you if it works from my Titan X since I can't get it to work.
After spending the entire night trying to get Dolby Vision to work and failing in Mass Effect Andromeda last night, I see why developers are hesitant. HDR in Windows 10 is a disaster right now. To even get HDR10 to work I had to run in Windowed Borderless mode. But I could never get Dolby Vision to work. And going to the forum it seems nobody else has either since the latest Windows 10 update.
lighting is significantly better in my opinion. Looks like the X has more light sources and maybe even some extra volumetric effects with the lighting. Very impressive.
Enjoying the game so far. Needs more content, but so does every game I suppose. Can't wait for Curse to come out.
True, PS4 for exclusives and Xbox One X for multi platform games which are the majority. Let PS4 Pro go to pasture.
