What´s wrong with the "retro love"?... I mean, You have to meassure and consider a game for what it was at it´s time to make a fair comparisson and both sonic and mario games, specially the first ones where outstanding examples of game design, art direction and great music score for their time. In that aspect, they easily hold a candle to titles like God of War III... heck! they even got quite much more replay value than MANY of the so cold new classics...

Yup... and you don´t even need the latest family of CPUs to get things going nicely... I still have a Quadcore (you get em quite cheap today)... All I upgraded was my videocard from a 9800 to a 580gtx two months ago and BAM I can suddenly play all DX11 games all maxes out and in over HD resolutions... That´s the beauty of it... you don´t even need to spend all the money together and if you buy wisely you are likely to get a rig that with minor tweaks and upgrades will get going...
@ BlacKnight... couldn´t agree more. People spend hours speaking about SPUs, dedicated and shared RAM, pixel shaders and the sort about their console of choice but fail to assemble the few hardware parts and plug the cables that take to get a computer running... seems a little contradictory.
And again, the super valued rig point arises. Nowadays it´s not THAT expensive to build a PC that will play most games at high settings and FULL HD... something NO ACTUAL CONSO...

Awww c´mon... I mean the same thing can be said of car shows (name any)... or 85% of TV content: Boobs and Violence. I´ll recon it´s not the most mature thing out there but boobs and and guns get the money roling for the most part. And I don´t think enjoying the sight of a booth babe has nothing to do with maturity or not. I couldn´t care less what age the media thinks I have, for all it´s worth, little content of interest is to be found in "mass" media...

This is just an opinion article... So you can either agree or not with this guy. He puts some pretty games in there. And while they are surely among the most visually impressive games, there are some titles that could be replaced for others and still there would be the same amount of people happy with this list, and the same amount complaining...
and tell me, Focker420 how beatiful something is for qwertyz is totally wrong because he prefers the surroundings in other games?... He failed to understand the article because of that?... what if he actually thinks that bulletstorm maxed out has settings to more worthy to behold at than those in AC2 or UC2 or KZ3?...

Again... this is just opinion... You can either agree with the guy who made the article or not... Best looking scenery is a totally subjective issue. While some may drop their jaws in awe at the mere view of a lost temple in a Nepali mountains others may prefer to see the Chrysler building coming down... Wether one is "better looking" than the other then can arguably be interpreted as in terms of technically achieved, as that would be the only real objective way to measure two diffe...

Well then we just enter the terrain of subjectivity. While it can be empiraically demonstrated that X game has more polygons / postprocessing effects / number of light sources and so on... than Y game... the "looks better sylistically" is purely a matter of taste.
In that sense... I find this a mere opinion article...
I find the sceneries in The curse of monkey island more inspiring and much nicer than some of the examples shown the...

The best of games can´t even begin to compare to good sex 8let alone GREAT sex)... while lame to average sex will win over any game hands down... I would only choose game over sex in only two scenarios: I already had sex and want to do something else. The game is a CLASSIC and the sex with that particular lady SUCKS (and I mean no chemistry AT ALL.. and it can happen)... but I wouldn´t be seeing that chick more than once anyways, so I deffinitely choose sex over games.
