It's not so much that it's racist, it's just a massive oversight.

If I'm black, and the only way for me to make my character black, in a game that's literally about crafting a world in exactly the way I want it to be, is to sit out in the sun too long, there's something wrong.

It is a game within which there's a war.

That doesn't make it a war game. Not unless Grand Theft Auto is a dance simulator.

A lot of people, at the launch of the Xbox 360, found it laughable that Microsoft had put so much time and effort into the online portion of their console.

Sony spent years catching up.

Whatever you think of Kinect or of any of the things Microsoft are doing, there's a precedent already set, and you can totally see why they'd rather work towards their own goals than just do what's already done.

Whether it works out a second time i...

Since when was Call of Duty supposed to be a war game? It's an arcade game at best. If you want simulation, keep playing ARMA. I'm sure the 30 million people that buy CoD each year are happy with what they've got.

Yeah, 7 and 8 share the same engine. 8 is definitely polished though.

"why is MMO AI still so crap if the clowds are all powerful."

Yes, because one has something to do with the other.

DW8 is a great game, although DW7 is as good for many of the same reasons. If you're looking to get back into the series but don't want to risk the cost, check out 7.

It depends what you judge as complexity. If you're after deep strategy, the games you mentioned are, as you say, more of the same, but rightfully so.

If you want a deep action game, you can't knock Dynasty Warriors on its highest difficult level, and you'll definitely be required to think. The consecutive battles in Ambition mode in DW8 will be a gateway to a far harder experience.

My point is that it's only as simple as how you play. Hell, Ci...

The cloud will be able to handle non-instant processes, which I suppose will take the burden from other areas, which could potentially increase graphical focus.

Something like Dynasty Warriors could have group AI, battlefield monitoring, non-visible character control, difficulty balancing, lighting and more handled by the cloud. This, in turn, could boost non-cloud processes by freeing up space.

It's been working on a business level for years. The Hugo St...

It depends the extent of the cameo.

New dress sphere? Fair enough. SUPER COOL TWIST - LIGHTNING IS YUNA. Less good.

Not at all like Steam cards.

Steam cards aren't achievements. They're strongly limited. And all the money that goes into it goes straight back into trading cards when Valve can collect interest on it.

Most people treat others how they want to be treated. Most people, while playing Call of Duty, keep their mouth shut just to play and enjoy. Most people don't give a damn if you stick Lara Croft or Nathan Drake in front of them.

Most people are the sort that you're calling out, because the people with an irrational hate of women aren't going to be swayed by "well, that's not very nice, is it?" (which is the extent of your argument).

"The difference between used games and family sharing is that a used game is being played only by one person at any time. To extend it, if a used game represents a spot on a server, it's only one spot."

I can see where you're coming from, but you need to look a little wider to see why the Family Sharing would work.

Publishers don't want you buying used games. That's been established time and time again, and while there's nothing ...

"When we look at it through the business lens of profit, Microsoft's game sharing plan seems absolutely ludicrous and you'd be hard pressed to believe that publishers like EA or Activision would allow 9 people to play their games for free, then multiplied by 9 for every person that bought an Xbox One."

You've said this, but I'm guessing you're pro-used market?

EA and Activision would rather give access to 10 people per account - ...

That was really important and it needed to be said.

I'm not sure why, but I'm sure history will tell.

On topic:

I'm far more stoked for Dynasty Warriors 8 than I should be.

They could, but it'd mean writing a PS4 specific emulator.

It's easier just to run the game than to trick it into thinking it's working on a PS1.

I played Homefront all the time via OnLive. Worked fine online.

I'd happily pay pretty much anything up to 30-40 a month if it included every released game. It'd still end up being cheaper than buying each game individually, and I'd play things I wouldn't otherwise.

Would basically kill the used market and rental as well, albeit in a roundabout way.

It'd be perfectly possible. Sony even patented the "trigger" method of having trophies pop, which would make sense on a digital, online only platform.

I'd be shocked if you couldn't play PS4 games from the cloud at some point after Gaikai launches. Probably right when Gaikai launches. Plus demos.

I don't think you'll need to buy anything individually. Rather, it'll be a subscription service.

So on the one hand, you'll have to pay again to get games you already bought. On the other, that same price will probably include tens if not hundreds of other games.
