Remember all those countless, contrived spinoffs in the Call of Duty franchise back when they did World War 2 (Finest Hour, Big Red One, etc)? The Call of Duty label wasn't synonymous with quality back then, and it still isn't now. I think we can write this off as "didn't come out because it would've been trash."
This is the same guy who thought Mirror's Edge was lame because it "didn't have enough guns, shooting, or explosions."
Still, it's good to see maturity from him after those episodes of jackassery after Gears 2. There's nothing better than seeing developers praising other developers' work, because it shows open-mindedness and a desire to learn, which means better games from all of them.
In fact, no one has done more to ask for it than you.
It pisses me off that BFBC2 is doing so well. Not because I hate it. In fact, BCBC1 was my favorite online shooter, and I absolutely loved the BFBC2 campaign. But for some reason, shortly before the release of BFBC2, all my PS3 Battlefield games stopped working online(including 1943). I'd connect to a game, run around for 30 seconds, and then get disconnected. Every time. I know it's not my fault because all my other games work perfectly and I was able to play BC1 before. EA fcked wit...
What's written in the article is pretty cliche, but the trailer sure isn't. Unlike Infinity Ward, EA and MoH understand that turning an ongoing war into a Hollywood-style shooter probably isn't a good idea if you want to show people what's really going on in today's wars, or even be respectful to the real people serving in them. This trailer convinces me that the MoH developers understand that war is serious, that it's not a thrill ride, and that the primary purpose of...
Looks like Microsoft got suckered into once again paying for exclusivity that doesn't matter.
BC2's AN-94 is an accurate reproduction of the real-world AN-94. The real version has THREE firing modes: semi auto, 2-round burst, and full auto. However, FPSs usually limit their weapons to only one firing mode to keep things simple (M4's, SCARs, AK's etc allow both semi and full auto, but only full auto is used in games like BC2 and MW2). The reason DICE gave their AN-94 the two-round burst instead of full auto like they could've was to introduce variety (the same reason the G3 and FAL in ...
Graphics are not what make tactical shooters great. They're not meant to be Hollywood kiddie rides like frickin Call of Duty. It's the gameplay mechanics that make them worth playing, not the graphics and smoke-and-mirrors gimmicks that only make the game APPEAR good superficially.
A lot of people like to say that "gameplay > graphics" just to feel wise and sophisticated. Have we forgotten that now that we actually see bad graphics? You'll be missing out on a lot ...
No love for Assassin's Creed 2?
I havent played it, but it got good reviews. At half price, why has no one mentioned it?
bad for the community. Keep those camping, knifing 'sploiters off our servers!
Any chance games like Final Fantasy XIII will be up there? Or is it all crap liquidation like Gamestop's Game Days?
Can't you buy two random used games using this sale, then take them to your local store and exchange them for ones you want within 7 days? Or would they not accept one because you got it for free?
Agreed. There's nothing badass about soldiers who use homing bullets and "optical camo" to do their job instead of reflexes and strategic planning. I still find Ghost Recon 1 more entertaining and rewarding than GR2 or GRAW.
I've been having trouble connecting since the Bad Company 2 Demo (PS3). It's not my connection because all my non-Battlefield games work fine. EA needs to step it up. They can't sell a game that's only playable by some, not all.
Fcking idiot. Destructoid articles are satirical. When they blatantly bash something like Heavy Rain using ridiculous arguments, they're making fun of people who actually bash Heavy Rain.
If you can't put 2 and 2 together: This is a JOKE article. This isn't the first time Destructoid articles appeared on N4G, so you should know by now that Destructoid is a largely SATIRICAL site. Do you think anyone rational could believe Deadly Premonition had better dialogue and audio than Heavy Rain when they post a clip proving the OPPOSITE? A lot of you need to stop being paranoid flamebait fanboys who think everyone's out to bash their favorite game.
If Valve made any changes to the original Counter Strike formula, which many of you consider perfect and sacrosanct, are you guys more likely to play it or complain that they ruined Counter Strike?
And if you guys want to keep the old formula but play with updated visuals and physics? Well...

I was able to complete the challenge on the website and get a demo code, but I keep getting codes that are invalid or have been used before. I've tried this twice now. Anyone else have this problem or a solution to fix it?
Didn't even learn to write code before pushing a game onto store shelves? Amazing.
I hear non-asshole companies saved $50 million.
