"Miyamoto has also talked about how Mario transitioned from his job as a carpenter in Donkey Kong to his plumbing career in Super Mario Bros. The underground setting of SMB led Miyamoto to decide that Mario was an Italian plumber from New York. "There was really no other deep thought other than that."
So he was originally created as Japanese but was changed to Italian for SMB and has remained so since.....
Mario has been Italian since 1985...

For someone with Yoda in your username you're very quick to lose your temper. Remember "anger leads to hate, hate leads to suffering".
The way i see it is this. The XBSX has a power advantage but it's not so significant that it will result in much if any discernible difference in the end.
The average person isn't going to notice if a game is running at 2160p on the XBSX and "only" 1800p on the P...
Exactly this.
All this nonsense about the Xbox having "vastly superior" technology is ridiculous.
Sony is a hardware manufacture that has a long history in almost every field of electronics and it's Playstation division has extremely talented designers and engineers, including Cerny who is a long time veteran of the industry that is highly respected by his peers.
They are more than a match for Microsoft who have only been dabbling in there own hard...
What the hell are you talking about? Quantic Dream's games have always been heavily criticised for being more like "interactive movies" than games. In fact David Cage is famous for trying to sell his games as "emotional experiences" rather than traditional video games.
@zeroblue2
"if they develop for Xbox with the SSD in mind"
That's the thing, they can't develop with the SSD in mind as all first party games have to be able to run on the Xbox One.
They could possibly make the engine scale to take advantage of the XBSX hardware but they can't design a game that is only possible on it. Hence the "optimized for XBSX" logo.
Looking forward to playing this on PC, and given that all Microsoft first party games have to work on the Xbox One it shouldn't be too demanding to run. The question is, will PC be able to match or exceed the XBSX on visuals/performance?
Given that the Ampere and possibly big Navi GPU's should be available by then, I would think yes.
Ryse!!! Ha ha ha ha ha! that's funny!
I paid £1,000 for my 2080ti but yes there is a huge price difference between a high end PC GPU and a console, that's why I said the new machines are hugely impressive, it also shows us that PC GPU's are massively overpriced, mostly thanks to Nvidia's dominance and greed.
It's hugely impressive that the next-gen consoles are capable of keeping up with the fastest PC GPU currently available. That said, I'm certain a 2080ti would have no issues with a 50% increase in particles and an SSGI pass if they updated the game on PC. It's only better as it's using features from a newer version of UE4 + optimisation, not because the XBSX is more powerful.
And of course PC hardware is due very soon that will have double the power of the XBSX and ...
Not the same technology.
Xbox one controllers just have 2 extra traditional rumble motors under the triggers (motors with offset weights)
The DS5 has voice-coil actuators in the grips that can more accurately simulate different sensations due to them being much more variable in their frequency and response.
It's like HD rumble in the Switch Joycons but presumably more powerful and versatile due to having more available space.
In addi...
It is the PC version and your expectations are too high.
Yes that's what I'm saying.
These are press release shots with no platform specified. Most likely PC, not XBSX.
It will be interesting to see what frame rate this ends up being on console, I reckon 30 if the visuals match up these shots with 60 requiring the next gen PC GPU's at ultra settings.
I've said it before and I'll say it again. Developers will NOT be targeting 4K + raytracing at 60fps on either the XBSX or the PS5 for the vast majority of titles, particularly multi-platform and cross-gen titles.
12TF is not enough to achieve it for more graphically intensive games, it will however be possible for less demanding titles like racing games for example.
Some first party exclusives might pull it off, but that will require bespoke engines created specifi...
Totally agree, a consistent style and expressive animation is more important than photo realistic detail.
Anyone else old enough to remember that N64 games were $60 in 1996 which would be equivalent to $100 now.
I have a PS4 but i've Been putting off playing HZD since the PC version was announced and have managed to stay away from any spoilers so far.
Can't bloody wait, 2080ti / 9900K + LG 4K OLED TV + 5.1 Surround Sound + DS4 = gaming nirvana.... hopefully.
Nah! 4K, ultra at 60fps is what i'm looking for. If death stranding is anything to go by then it should be easy.
1. Historical Evidence
The "dominion of power" has never been won by Xbox, it came close with the Xbox 360 but despite it's flaws and a huge data breach, the PS3 still outsold it by several million units.
2. More powerful
At this point it's still debatable which machine is more capable overall, on paper the XBSX has more raw power in terms of TFLOPS but the PS5 GPU is clocked significantly higher and the system has many customisation'...
I'm definitely more of a Playstation fan but I fully expected to see some impressive things from this event, but man... I'm actually shocked at how poor of a showing that was. Even Halo Infinite, which I thought for sure would be a showstopper looked very underwhelming.
