Now watch a whole bunch of other games change their release dates.

honestly I can't decide if it was brave or stupid to show the game in it's current state.
It actually looks pretty good if you can see past the performance issues but MY GOD does the framerate look rough, it drags the whole presentation down and negates a lot of the good work the devs have done. I'm assuming it will be optimised a lot before launch, it's still a little ways away so they have time, but if it releases like that... hoo boy.

Let's be honest. Only those with the absolute most discerning eyes or the ability to run both side by side will see any difference in terms of image quality/fidelity. Frame rate is really the only major difference with PC obviously going much higher depending on the hardware/money thrown at it. But the game at least for now is single player only and designed around 60fps so higher fps is just a nice luxury for those who can get it.

Nintendo is synonymous with Japan and they are VERY proud and protective people, they will always want to keep the company within Japan.

@VariantAEC
Well I complete agree that the tariffs had very little if any effect on the original pricing, as you say that's all on Nintendo. But that doesn't change the fact that the tariffs may well end up adding a further price increase on top.

That's not really relevant to the tariff situation specifically within the US.
Regardless of what the pricing structure may or may not be throughout the world, the United States will most likely have to pay an ADDITIONAL and very substantial increase on both the hardware and software across all platforms due entirely to the Trump administrations ridiculously irresponsible tariff policy.

There is absolutely zero reason for them to do that.

What are you talking about? Electricity is bloody expensive here in the UK but even at the maximum consumption of 4.2w that you stated it would only cost £7 if left in standby mode all day everyday for a year! 😅

It's £0.02 per day, no bank is being broken.

That was certainly an issue when the PS5 first launched but it was quickly patched and isn't really a problem any more. It can still happen in VERY rare circumstances, but that's also the case with Xbox, Switch and PC (or any older console that writes data to some form of storage.

That's..... odd, aside from paranoia about things using electricity (it uses so little it's basically negligible) there's no downside to having it enabled that I know of.

I can't remember if it's on by default out of the box? if not then it's probably just that people don't know about it or can't be bothered to enabled it.

For me it's not that todays games suck, it's more that an increasing number of them need more time/polish. I'm fairly sure it's not the developers that are to blame, it's the publisher's pushing titles out before they're ready.
Games on fixed hardware platforms should NOT have performance issues, full stop. If you can't meet a locked 30 or 60fps target then optimise more, dial stuff back, cheat. No one outside of Digital Foundry is looking at the sh...

He comes across as an arrogant asshole. Makes me even happier Astrobot won.

What does that statement even mean?

"Lumen CAN run at 60fps"

Yes but under what circumstances?

Missed out of the limited edition but got a standard Pro ordered. The Limited Edition was actually less expensive than I thought.

Still dreaming of a sequel to Okami 🙏

They haven't done a U-turn on the RTX 4070 being the closest currently available GPU.
That claim is based on feature set not raw rasterization performance. If you downclock the 4070 it's similar in capability.

PC, PC, PC. That's all I keep seeing.

What if you don't want to dedicate a chunk of your home to a desk, chair, monitor, keyboard/mouse, and speakers? All of which costs money that isn't being factored in to these stupid comparisons.

A Pro will just fit in to your existing living room/bedroom setup, no fuss.

Translation:

The PC version is terribly optimised.

I wasn't aware that ND said they'd never do it...

I know they said it would difficult for them to go back to it after doing super high fidelity, gritty, realistic stuff like Last of Us but I didn't think they'd ruled it out completely.

I'm convinced first person was a mistake but we'll see.
