How could you not want to hurt him? Such a punchable face.
Famous Mortimer... What a twat.
Both the Xbox One and the PS4 will continue to steadily improve just as all consoles have in the past. The PS4 has more powerful hardware and is already using a Mantle like low level API, at best DX12 will just make it easier for third party dev's to get parity with multi-platform titles.
As for PC if DX12 is anything like Mantle it will only be of real benefit to those with lower end CPU's.
Not even top 10.
It's not downgraded it's just different. Different time of day which has changed the lighting/shadow intensity and direction. Character models have been tweaked and IMO look better and some of the scenes are in completely different locations making comparisons very difficult. In terms of texture details you can't really judge it fairly using a heavily compressed video. Footage dumped with the share button is not great to start with and then YouTube/Dailymotion will compress it...
They look like genuine PC screenshots to me just at a VERY high resolution. Still could be classed as Bullshots seeing as no current hardware could actually cope at a res that high.
Obviously updating the Xbox One's API to DX12 could bring improvements in performance. The fact that people seem to be missing is that the PS4 already uses a DX12/Mantle like low level API that allows developers to "code to the metal" and squeeze every drop of power out of the system. Also why is it that people seem to think that the Xbox One is the only console receiving optimizations, just recently one of Sony's PS4 graphics programmers revealed that he'd managed to ...
Nope. I also played through all of the Walking Dead Episodes and the Wolf Among Us as well and didn't notice any problems at all. Did you play on the PC? maybe it's just the console versions that are buggy?
Things like this make me think Humanity is doomed.
Those saying it looks better or as good on the PC are wrong. I played through the whole game maxed at 1080p with 2X SSAA using a GTX690 and I can see from the PS4 footage that it looks better in almost every area. I do agree that it's a bit much to charge full price but if you don't think it's worth it go buy something else.
I have a decent 75Mb/s connection so I'm ready and waiting...
The UK's broadband is getting better all the time but there will always be people unable to get fibre or cable, 4G mobile internet should be fast enough for PSNow so that could be a solution for some.
The main problem is hardware fragmentation, already there are multiple steam boxes all with different configurations and that's before AMD GPU's are supported. It's still more cost/time efficient for developers to make games for the fixed hardware consoles.
There are some possible explanations for the staining being visible on top of the vents. It could be that there's a manufacturing fault in the plastic and that the heat is causing something within it to rise to the surface, or it could be that the vapour that we have seen coming from a very small number of units contains something that is collecting around the vents as it rises.
I don't think it's possible to completely fix this problem. They could add the option to have the Xbox One output everything at 50Hz but that would limit all games to display at 50fps. They could also leave it the way it is when the TV output is windowed (so you will have judder when viewing the channel preview or when it's snapped) but then switch to 50Hz when viewing fullscreen, but this would make the TV go black for a couple of seconds each time it changes and is only half f...
What a load of twaddle!
Be careful, all 2TB 2.5 inch HDD Drives are currently 15mm high afaik. The PS4 only has room for 12.5mm drives so your limited to 1.5TB max for now.
Looks nothing like a heat problem to me, if it was overheating I would expect to see graphical artifacts, a complete lock-up or a system restart. This looks like an issue with the game which is not surprising seeing as it's unfinished code.
As for those saying you can't fit hardware as powerful as the PS4 into such a small case, there are gaming laptops and SFF PC's doing it right now.
Quite a nice idea but won't it result in loads of nearly identical clips being uploaded?
Too many unknowns at this point to know how much better it will be for indies. It's very unlikely that every console will be able to be used as a debug unit straight out the box, I'm guessing anyone wanting to create XBO games will need to apply for a licence to unlock the developer features and that could cost just as much as a dedicated dev unit.
DX12 will make it easier for devs to get the most out of relatively weak hardware with a focus on improving CPU efficiency. That's it. Everything That it can do could also be achieved by the PS4's API, in fact it might already be doing it now.
