Like it or not, but the exclusive games are a large part of why people buy a system.
For many people just being able to take a lesser version of a console game on the go is not enough to make them chug money on a portable system.

I'm telling you, if Sony had launched the Vita alongside a port of Uncharted 3 instead of an exclusive (although probably temporary) episode, it would have spelled disaster for the system's launch.

I bought the D...

I agree.
This was the same thing with the PSP.Not only did they use the PSP's similarity with home consoles to port a ton of games, but on top of that almost all great PSP games ended up on either PS2 or PS3.
Why bother with the Vita then?

I'm sorry but I'm afraid you are mistaken. I have only played UC2, not UC3, but I really doubt there are many single shot transitions without any cut that go straight from a facial close up to gameplay. They edit them as well as they can to conceal it, but the transitions are still definitely noticeable. Play the game again and watch specifically for those dialogue close-ups, you'll notice it no doubt.

Also, look at this thread where UC3 players discuss it:

That looked pretty cheaply made compared to the Ghost Recon short by Ubisoft.

Didn't they say they'd focus on Vita originals instead of ports like on the PSP?
I love Sly, but unless it's an original adventure designed for Vita (which it isn't), I'm not interested.

Huh, what the heck?
Pathetic, lying, pandering headline.

This is not real time.
This is just pre-rendered.

Just like those movies that are spliced with the actual gameplay in the Uncharted games.
You can see it in Uncharted because the weapon held by Drake either disappear or switch to default when the movie is on.
Just because there is gameplay before and gameplay after does not mean that the engine renders the scene y...

Sorry but last gen was much stronger than current gen IMO.

Would be fun if Hartnell made it. Gonna vote for him.

Every gameplay vid we've seen from this game shows abysmal level design straight out of 2004.

Coop is cool but I don't like the idea that the character is present even when playing solo.
I prefer lone terror.

Yeah, this game was not highly acclaimed.
First one was cool, although the sticky aim assist of the PS2 version sucked.
It was before they learned to make shooters work on a pad.

I disagree with you. Completely.
I have absolutely no interest in posts like "PS3 rules", "Another great PS3 game", "Another proof that PS3 has the best exclusives" and the worst of them all "OMG, Day One for me." Same is true about 360 games.

I DON'T CARE. You have nothing to say about the game.
Shut the hell up.
2 f'n lines at the end of your comment about the game.
Oh and what do you have...

Is there still online split screen like in WarHawk?

5115d ago 1 agree0 disagreeView comment

I don't know. I guess that's a risk, but I think there's also a decent chance that there's more to it than that.
I think if it was only basic branching paths a la Gears of War, they would not make it the first point they tease about the game.

Remember CoD3 also by Treyarch. There was a level where you rode a Jeep through an open town and got out to free resistants stuck in various houses throughout the village.
It was pretty open ended. Sur...

Wow, what an elaborate rebutal!

Problem is that every battle is gonna play out the same, with the same canned animations for kills and objectives.
How many times is taking the same steps to kill that cyclop, and gouging his eye the same way, going to be fun?

The GoW template consists of a pretty rigid structure with scripted events, I don't see how making a competitive arena-based mode out of it is going to cope with the needs of a multiplayer game in terms of replayability.

Looks poor.
Lack of scope, mundane level design, deja vu.
The demos they showed hinted at it, the previews are confirming it.
Who are Nihilistic anyway? Probably went to them because Sony Bend had better things to do.

I'm way more excited about Killzone Vita.
KZ3 was good not great, but the Vita version is handed by a new studio, and a quality one too.
KZ has more personality than Resistance especially in the weighty handling...

I played the first and second.
The first has indeed aged poorly. It feels like a PS2 game. Presentation is generic, controls are stiff and aim down sights is a toggle. The level design is very uneven, you have some decent open sections, and then some awfully mundane corridors.
Setpieces are not very impressive. Technically it's not that good, even for a launch title.

The second one was also not too original, but level design, while linear, was generall...

I've seen the similar Uncharted The Trilogy in store, and it's just a flimsy light cardboard box, like the one for cereal boxes, with standard Platinum editions of the first two games, and a normal copy of the third.

So I have good reason to believe this will be the same for this one.
So my advice, if you own the games, even if you're a fan, DO NOT buy them again in that format.
All you are getting is 10 cents worth of cardboard.
It do...
