I believe he is right. As long as we continue to see we’ll made games like God of War and Horizon, single player games will still be profitable.
If Sony shows off TLoU2, Ghost, and DS gameplay all in the same conference, they’re already off to an excellent start. Outside of those 3, it’s really a matter of continuing to announce new games. Hopefully they don’t put too much emphasis on Spider Man, since it will be coming out not too long after anyways. The thing that will make their show perfect is a new multiplayer-focused exclusive to compliment everything else they’re doing.
Define profitable. God of War selling 3.1 million copies in 3 days, you can safely assume it made at least $200 million in those 3 days alone, and that of course is just the beginning for it. I somehow doubt God of War cost even near $200 to make, so needless to say, it’s pretty damn profitable. Thing about it being SP is once development is done, it’s done. Outside of patches and possible DLC, there’s no need for the devs/ publisher to spend a lot more money on it post launch. With MP, yes t...
Can’t believe I hit the agree button for Deep Throat lol
But yes, you are right. If someone watches other play video games (MP or SP) through a stream, for more than to just get a grasp on the game to decide whether or not to buy, that person needs to reevaluate themselves and consider a new hobby.
Agreed, though I wouldn’t count TLoU2 or DS as SP titles, since both are confirmed to have multiplayer.
Because the whole point of new hardware is to play old software. Excuse me while I go buy a brand new PC rig to play the original DOOM. /s
I still have my PS3, but I Haven’t plugged it in since I finished Sly 4 back in late 2013. I haven’t felt the need to play PS3 games because I played all the ones I was thoroughly interested in. PS3’s are incredibly cheap these days, as are the games. If someone wants to play old PS3 games that badly, get a PS3.
Exactly why I play mainly on console. Imagine if any, or god forbid all, of these game services on PC started charging. It’d be like having a crap ton of Netflix subscriptions, and your games wouldn’t be in one ecosystem, so no achievement tracking, etc.
True, but even 2019 seems early.
Ready? Always. Need it? Not quite yet. Late 2020 is a very comfortable window to launch the PS5.
We don’t know that. Plus, if he was playing Spider Man, I see no reason why he couldn’t show that.
This time next year, PS4 should be getting ready to pass Wii’s lifetime sales.
Yup. Because they were totally the first to use features like Backwards Compatibility. Is this a joke?
PS gamers enjoy a far more balanced ecosystem. Yes, by and large PS4 players play a lot of online shooters, but single player games like Horizon, GoW, Persona, and Nier are able to enjoy success on the platform as well. What’s the last single player game that saw any real success on the Xbox? You could say Witcher 3, I guess, but that has sold more than 3 times as many copies on PS4, soooo... yeah.
“It’s coming, trust me.”
Not saying you’re wrong, but what basis do you actually for being some all knowing source? And please, for the love of all that is still decent in this world, don’t say you have an “insider source”....
Did you actually play the game?
They have their styles of doing things. You may prefer battlefield, but clearly millions of people prefer CoD. Different games, different gameplay.
Another weird article. Sony has been doing the long game for a while, but unlike MS, they’ve spent their nearly 24 years in the industry developing and growing studios, while MS simply bought out and took over already established studios, expecting continued quality, but instead gutted them or drove them away. 17 years in the console business, Xbox shouldn’t be saying “our exclusives are coming. Just wait”. People can only wait for so long.
To say Sony doesn’t have a futur...
Where have you been? lol
