Higher resolutions will still look better on a 4k TV. For 1080p TVs you are obviously right though.
There is a huge gap between 1920 x 1080 and 3840 × 2160 (4k). Devs can and probably will go for different resolution in between (for example WQHD 2560 x 1440).
1920 x 1080 ( 25% of 4k)
2560 x 1440 (~44% of 4k)
3200 × 1800 (~69% of 4k)
They can't be serious with that trailer.

@thekhurg: That's definitely a problem. But I don't think it's fair to expect the whole gaming press to be uniformly objective about those things. If anything I think it's a mistake to dock points for a missing single player or multiplayer component to begin with. It should be clearly highlighted what content is included in the review but in my opinion the quality of the content that is included is what should be rated not what the reviewer felt was missing from the game.
If the game really is that good why shouldn't it deserve a 10/10 score? It's not like multiplayer only games get scores like that all the time. I don't think devs shouldn't be forced to include a single player campaign just as much as I think that they shouldn't be forced to include a multiplayer component to a game if they don't want to include it. Let the devs go after their creative vision.
If every game would be swayed by roughly the same amount I could agree with you. Games on the higher end of scores will be heavily swayed by low scores. Games that are generally reviewed with average scores will have a more legit userscore cause they are equally impacted by the low and high extremes. That way everything is swayed towards the middle.
That's why you see a 16% difference between the critic reviews and the User reviews of Uncharted 4 while the difference i...
And that's exactly why you shouldn't take metascores seriously. Especially not user scores. I never said it's different than the general consensus you'd get on every other forum. All I'm asking is: If you know that the stats are heavily skewed, why base your point on them?
The user reviews are flooded with haters that just give games low scores to drag the metascore down. That's especially true for console exclusive games. It's not a matter of me agreeing or disagreeing. The problem is that those scores don't give you an accurate representation of the general opinion of gamers that played the games to begin with.
Why on earth would you post metacritic User scores for console exlusive games?
Not sure what you're trying to say but historically CD Projekt take about 3-4 years to develop a game. I wouldn't count on Cyberpunk 2077 before 2018 (maybe even 2019) personally. And there is no way that they'll start pumping out sequels every 2 years. that's just not how CD Projekt does things.
Well it's always night somewhere. They can't have it on prime time for everyone.
I prefer the old water particle effect personally but other than that most of the game looks just as good or even better in the retail build. This game is a masterpiece in pretty much every aspect. The attention to detail is unmatched. You can feel the passion from ND in every moment of the game. It's so immersive and fun to play.
It's very rare that I can't put the controller down and once I do I keep thinking about the game. This usually only happens with Soul...
Since 8.8 and 9 is pretty much the same score you might as well give it a 9 imo. I never understood how people are scoring a game on a 100 point scale anyway.
Subsurface scattering seems much improved and the motion blur looks better too. Those things are clearly visiable even with the compressed video file. Seems like they've moved the the position of the sun in the first scene.
Why compare it to Quantum Break when there is a screenshot of the Xbox One version of Uncharted 4 in the article?:

Seriously though: Both Quantum Break and Uncharted 4 look awesome.
Division, FC Primal, and Quantum Break? ...
You need a new radar my friend. Dark Souls 3 is my personal Goty so far as well but we've had some other great games this year already like Xcom 2, Ratchet & Clank, The Witness and Salt and Sanctuary.
If 4/10 is reservered for broken games what are 1-3/10 reservered for then?
Weird. I think it's the other way around. 2015 looked shinier but 2016 looks more realistic imo. Kinda hard to say for sure with a youtube vid though.
I apologise for the comment-ception but since the title of the submission has changed my comments above don't make much sense anymore. The title originally was something along the lines of: NX Gamer confirms that Quantum Break is the best looking game to date.
I haven't played Demon's Souls but for me Dark Souls and Bloodborne are masterpieces. DS3 and DS2 don't quite reach that god-tier status in my opinion but they are still great games.
