I used to be a PC gamer myself but switched to consoles.
The problems with PC's is constantly having to upgrade to keep up with the latest games. I got fed up and just wanted to buy games that worked.
Nothing more anoying then buying a new game, installing it then finding out it didn't work properly with my pc. Either the game ran too slow, or compatibility problems with drivers or hardware.
I gave up trying to keep up so switched to ...
Lag, usage caps, traffic shaping, bandwidth throttling, and more lag.
There is no way cloud based gaming can replace games consoles until everyone in the whole world can receive superfast lag free internet connections with no usage caps and no bandwidth throttling.
Games consoles will be around for a good few years yet.
They make a loss on every console sold. So they haven't done this just to increase sales.
In fact I blame all you pirate scum for the fact that games are so expensive.
Games can cost millions to make. And because of the scum stealing the games they have to raise the prices to get the money back.
I can't see any difference.
I reckon that since update 3.00 there have been lots of people who have bought Uncharted and returned it to the store thinking the game is faulty. Most new ps3 owners won't think of checking for updates or viewing the forums. There first reaction would be to return the game faulty. Then after the second copy of the game freezes they will assume thier ps3 is faulty and return that.
If updates are optional the there should at least be a message on screen telling you an optional up...
I played both demos.
I actually preferred the look of the ps3 version which is unusal for multi-format games.
The 360 version didn't look as crisp and was darker.
This is basically just an interactive tv service. The games are actually run on their servers but the picture and sound is transmitted over the internet to the home user. So will be heavilly reliant on users having a consistanly fast internet connection.
As most people don't have internet connections that are consistantly fast I can see the service failing. There is also the fact that ISPs in some countries have fair usage policies and having a user constantly downloading at 5meg...
If the parents go to prison then the child ends up in care. That is far more damaging to a child than playing adult video games.
Some polititions haven't got a clue
Anyone else notice that the Resident Evil 5 demo has been removed from the store?
I wonder why that is
I downloaded the demos for both versions of the game.
I'm having a hard time noticing any difference.
The colours seem richer on xbox version but that could just be down to the fact that my xbox is connected via componant and my ps3 uses HDMI.
Other than that they look the same.
Oh and those comparisons on eurogamer are flawed because they have different brightness settings set on both versions of the game so it's hard to make a true comparison.

I doubt MS will get their money back.
For the simple reason that the DLC has taken too long to be released.
GTAIV was out ages ago. A lot of people are probably finished with the game by now and probably can't be assed playing it again so wont buy the content.
Yeah I was just going to youtube.com
Just tried www.youtube.com/tv and it does look a lot better.
Although I can't see why they couldn't use a browser sniffer and automatically direct you to the new site like the bbci player does.
Youtube looks as crap as ever on my ps3.
The interface hasn't been redesigned at all for ps3.
There is no way home can replace the XMB.
First of all I hate home. It's full of annoying little kids.
Also there is no way that it could replace the XMB as it would make performing actions like changing settings or accessing the contents of the hard drive a lot of hassle. If it did happen I would sell my ps3.
That article is just a big load a crap.
They haven't even got their facts straight.
They practically say that ps3 has no full games to download on the store.
Well there's Burnout Paradise and Siren Bloodcurse. Both are full games.
And their argument about 50GB blu ray games is flawed. As a lot of the games may take up more space on the blue ray because some games duplicate the same data on multiple areas of the disc to make them load faster.
It's a shame it's not selling well. It's a very good game.
Especially the multiplayer. It's the only console game I know of that can have lag free games online with 60 players.
It's been reported on various sites that that some shops like zavvi or smiths haven't received any stocks of resistance 2 yet due to their distributor being in administration.
I'm quite sure that if there were no supply problems then resistance would be far higher in the charts.
I can't see what everyone is complaining about. I already own the 360 version of Bioshock but decided to try the ps3 demo anyway.
I seen the disaster that was the ps3 version of orange box and can honestly say that Bioshock is not a disaster.
Yes the graphics do seem a bit sharper on the 360 but it is hardly noticable. And I didn't notice any frame rate issues.
To me it looked like a good port.
Anyone who refuses to buy the game just because of a dodgy texture is m...
Surely it would say "browser" if it was a web browser,
Browse could simpley mean browse the content of your hard drive. It doesn't nessesarily mean browse the web.
Both consoles have done well. That's all that matters.
It's better for gamers if both consoles do well as we no longer have to worry about most games only going on one platform which is what happened last generation.
Both consoles have their exclusives but most games are released on both consoles. In previous generations most games were only on one console which was bad for owners of the other consoles.
