You forgot to mention that unlike the 360 SKUs, the PS3 SKUs offer the same thing. Same HDMI, same Bluray player etc.
Now lets look at the 360.
HDMI 1.2, old technology, and you didn't even get that with earlier SKUs!
HD-DVD internal drive, yeah again, I'm going to rebuy a 360 for that, yeah, right!
Hard drive with or without?!?!?!
There is a difference there!!!
Now the PS3,
Hard drive space difference, and one model d...
The average user according to you must wear glasses, because an upscaled SDVD vs a Bluray or HD-DVD offers a greater difference in visual quality compared to the difference between the jump to VHS to SDVD.
I think you actually need to watch a movie in high def before making retarded statements like that.
the triple layer you're referring to will probably require a new HD-DVD player to play the 51 GB disks.
So right now, yes, HD-DVD is the one who is limited. Please don't talk about the future, because you simply don't know what will happen. In reality it's:
Bluray 50GB > HD-DVD 30GB
But M$ didn't come out with a mandatory attachment did they? No, Sony came out with the integrated Bluray drive.
So why not step out of fantasy land, welcome to reality where Bluray disks are outselling HD-DVDs in every country including this one.
They haven't announced it will be compatible with current players so don't even bother. So far they "THINK" it will be.
There is no comparison to SDVD compared to a High Def (bluray or HD-DVD) when viewed on a 1080p and at least a 50 inch screen. NONE, ZILCH.
I don't know what you are using to make these comparisons but my 1 year old daughter can tell the difference.
The difference between SDVD and High Def DVD is actually Greater than the difference between VHS and SDVD, just to give you an idea of how much better it is. If you disagree then I'm guessing you've just never viewe...
71 percent is a ton... That's news if you ask me.
I can't wait for 75 percent, that would be 3:1 and hopefully will make Warner go Bluray exclusive and end this war.
But no...
Person at the top is right, this is a great time to be a gamer.
As most of you know I prefer PS3/Bluray, but I own a Halo 360 box as well...
This IS going to be a great game as will FF13 and GT5... Instead of bringing all the PS3 RULEZ junk, I just hope everyone gets to play these games, no matter how big of an xbot you are.
If Bluray outsells HD-DVD 4:1 during the holidays, Microsoft won't do this. As embarressing as it may be, their next console or even the current may have to have a Bluray drive built in.
If you don't know where to get a $5 HDMI cable then go get a clue. and it DOES come with composit cables, or maybe you don't even know what those are.
Just because the PS3 comes with everything that the 360 doesn't, no need to cry about it.
Only Bluray is stocked. It's the one in Michigan, Commerce Twp on Haggerty road if any wants to verify.
Without boasting about how much better his product is.
I don't know who you're trying to kid, but every Gran Turismo game ALWAYS bested ANY other game on any other console EVEN PC. Forza for the original Xbox was Good, not comparable to Gran Turismo. Forza II isn't even as good as the PS2 Gran Turismo.
This won't be any different.
and it never will.
I can enjoy a format that actually has enough space to fit a 2 hour + movie and an uncompressed audio soundtrack to go along with it. So screw Microsoft and Toshiba for thinking that 30 GB is enough space.
Hurray for Sony for creating a format that actually made Toshiba and Microsoft get off their asses and make HD DVD larger to compete with Bluray.
I hate when people on this forum talk and they don't even know what they are talking about.
You don't need a $30,000 Home Theater System to play lossless audio. It requires an HDMI receiver and they are $800... Do us all a favor and do some research before we have to listen to crap from you that sounds worse than the compressed audio you cheer for.
Yes, I can tell the difference between uncompressed PCM and other competing formats, I don't know where you get thi...
PCM is uncompressed audio in its uncompressed form. Any other competing format has been compressed.
Just because HD-DVD doesn't have the space to hold audio in it's uncompressed form, doesn't make PCM an unnecessary format.
Ten years ago you probably thought prologic was better than Dolby Digital didn't you?
It does have hidef audio but is missing lossless. HD-DVDers better get used to not having lossless on most movies that have a length over 2 hours.
The extended LOTR will probably even be a flipper on HD-DVD.
The words LOW-BUDGET do come to mind as well as INCOMPETENCE.
Or at least most of it will be by the time this is released next year.
Meanwhile by next year the PS3 will have sold about 8 million consoles all with Bluray players integrated. And people wonder why Bluray is outselling HD-DVD disks by 2:1 and in every country!!! LOL!!!
