Wasn't 2007 the year of the PS3 ?
Then 2008?
My guess is 2009 will be the year of the Wii.
Lag would be an issue with FPS games and such that are time critical. In a lot of game types it does not matter much.
I used to play DAOC on PC and I, in Canada, played with people in Denmark, UK, New Zealand, Brazil and the US, and I must say, we never felt that lag was an issue.
So, while playing COD 4 could prove problematic if the server was 1400ms away, I don`t think Home would be a big issue.
While the shots look sharp and clean, there seem to be no atmosphere. There are no particles and textures are very low res.
To think that it runs at "20 to 35 FPS on a high end 6 X 4 cores CPUs running at 2.93GHz.... bleh. That is underwhelming. Who actually owns such a system?
Oh... and some people believe that some games are actually rendered in real time using ray tracing HA HA HA !
"More games to support keyboard and mouse input."
Shooters that can actually be controlled with mouse/keyboard would make me buy shooters on consoles. At this very moment, I don`t.
Besides, this could be a system seller to all PC gamers like myself that tried a shooter on a console and went: "WTF???"
"We don't provide the 'easy to program for' console that [developers] want, because 'easy to program for' means that anybody will be able to take advantage of pretty much what the hardware can do"
Grats champ, you crippled our console and most developers port games to it with lousy tech instead of developing on it right away.
"Now, for little more than pocket change, you can digest all the ignorance and bile in the “civilised” world, then add the authors to your “friends list” so you can play them at videogames. And you can read these words, of course, you lucky, hateful bastards."
hehehe, that alone makes it a worthy read.
"...retailing for around R900, and in some cases R1000."
What in hell are R900?
"just find the entire bit hilarious since no one really cares about Maxim’s reviews"
I agree on that. If the internet jumps like this when a soft porn magazine's website that no one cares about gives it a low score, Imagine what we will see when IGN, Gamespot or 1UP gives it an average score.
"Sony says PS3 only console powerful enough for Killzone 2"
I'd be curious to know on how many other consoles they are trying to port it.
If they say that only the PS3 has enough power it is because they have at least tried. But why SONY would spend money developing for the Wii or the 360 ?
And if they did not try, then assuming they are not powerful enough is a shot in the dark.
The walk/run anim in the attached video are nothing we haven t seen before
Valve said early in development that they wouldn't support the risk of porting a new IP to PS3 right away, would have it made on 360 and PC and see if it was successful enough for a publisher to notice and assume development costs (on PS3). Seems that EA took care of it.
And the article says:
"However, to me, at least, the fact remains: If Valve really cares about their fans and really wants for all audeinces to experience a hit, they will have to make this happen." ...
I really want a PS3, however, the price keeps me from buying one now.
I don't want to play shooters without a mouse and I don't like jrpg so, the exclusive list does not include a lot for me at the moment.
Whenever the PS3 hits the 199$ price point I buy one though.
A lot of people seem to think that WoW is worth 600$. Or at least, that's about what they paid to play it since day one.
So, if the game is worth playing only 1/5 of the time WoW is worth playing then I guess it is worth 120$.
hehe, the auction was taken down early.
SONY lawyers must have warned him, his paper or kidnapped his niece...
What a retard !
Both games look horrible when compared to Kung Fu Panda.
Smile :)
I hate exclusives
It is still the same city, the same engine and the same game, what type of screenshots do you expect?
We all pretty much seen what the game looks like. What we want to know is how many hours of gameplay does it add?
And will there be boobies?
Yes. exactly.
I can't wait. Honestly.
"during the next-gen of gaming achievements and trophies have eased their way"
Future (next-gen) meets past (eased). This is baaad.
