...I suppose you could say this about any game on any platform...?? Why is this even worth covering in this context? I thought we were beyond wondering or being surprised at whether a game will run on one piece of hardware vs. another. It's just a matter of how does it look and at what framerate does it run at consistently in comparison.

Yes, the lickers were terrifying... but what about the Chimera?! Those things were creepy as all hell...

I grew up with console gaming ever since the Atari 2600 and Commodore 64, but at some point I think we have to admit something - the inevitable growth and progression of the industry has always been reinforced by the technical evolution of the PC market. After all, PC gaming has represented the technological bar of game development. It's a real shame that it took MS so very long to realize this fact in spite of their many failed "attempts" to care, but it's refreshing to see...

....Same horridly outdated engine. You want to change Bethesda's mode of thinking on their future investment into this series? DON'T BUY IT!! That'll send a message loud and clear. Period.

Couldn't agree more.

@Movefasta1993 - You are correct. I very much enjoyed Fallout 3 and you are right in that it is not in the same class as Fallout 4. However, it is also not in the same class as the original Fallout titles or Fallout: New Vegas. I did enjoy the post-apocalyptic DC setting, but my point is that Bethesda (as a developer of Fallout titles) is nowhere near as capable as Obsidian or other AAA developers.

...With the exception of the Fallout series. Bethesda has proven to be a capable publisher, but they're not a very good developer (at least when it comes to the Fallout series). I think it's time that they hand this IP off to a more capable developer/publisher to take it in a new direction. The potential they have with this series is being squandered by a horribly inept and antiquated game engine with sub-par production and no willingness to address it because people continue to buy m...

AC3 was after the Ezio trilogy and focused on Connor Kenway. AC2, Brotherhood and Revelations round out the Ezio story. AC2 is still one of my favorites. I did very much enjoy AC3. Played Black Flag a little bit, but couldn't get into the setting, but I loved the improved ship mechanics... It'd be pretty sweet to see a Vikings AC game somewhere along the line.

If any of you guys haven't yet read this and you're fans of the original Police Quest/SWAT titles from Sierra, I would recommend it: https://waypoint.vice.com/e...

And what's funny about Portal 2 is that it was not an in-house team that began development on that title. Its development was started by a group of students using the Source engine. Valve liked it so much that they then hired those students and brought it in-house to craft it into an officially published Valve game.

Not for nothing, but... the author has a picture from TW2 for an article about TW3... On the subject though, while achievements can be somewhat fun to chase, they're a dime a dozen and ultimately they do not affect whether I decide to play a game or not. I'm not sure where this rabid obsession for achievements comes from, especially from the console gamers camp. Is the game good or shite? That's all I need to know.

They had every opportunity to expand this game's market on PC and never wanted to invest the money to do so. I MS is disappointed in the sales numbers for this title, then they have only themselves to blame for it. Who knows, Insomniac looking to go with another publisher could be the best thing that's ever happened to them. Good riddance to MS.

Lol. This iteration was the biggest disappointment. While probably being the most accessible game in the series, it also represents THE most diluted version of the Fallout experience. Instead of really digging in to create deep story content and working to replace the extremely ugly Creation Engine, they spent what seems like an enormous amount of time and resources on... base-building? Seemed cool at first, but ultimately detracted from the rest of the experience and it also showed the ugly ...

Only reason why this is now happening is because E3 has been in decline year after year for the last several years due to other gaming conventions like GDC, PAX, etc. Some dev/pubs have decided to not attend E3 in the past, so to me it looks like just another way to keep their coffers flush...

This game had such incredible potential but instead turned out to be a repetitive slog rife with mediocre loot and no end-game. So sad really because it could have stood as one of the greater multiplayer experiences out there and yet the inexperienced Massive team behind the game couldn't pull enough of the necessary pieces together for the long haul. Even now, as updates arrive, it's too little too late for all but the fanatical fanboys who still swear The Division is the second-comi...

I agree. The only worthy games which have ever come out of Gearbox development have been Half Life: Opposing Force, Brothers In Arms, and Borderlands. Other than those few, the rest have all been sub-par to truly awful titles marketed by Pitchford himself (who I sarcastically refer to as, the snake-oil salesman of the games industry) as groundbreaking and innovative. The reality couldn't be further from the truth in those cases (Aliens: Colonial Marines & Duke Nukem I'm lookin'...

Thanks, camel_toad - after doing some searching around I tried this same solution. Switched it to San Jose and was able to kickstart the update. Switched it back afterward.

My update has continued to say "Starting" in the Steam client, but won't ever download... In the meantime, can't launch the game. No activity at all... kind of annoying.

Yeah, of course they may finally be caving to this request while pretending it was THEIR original idea as opposed to what the fans wanted all along... yet instead of just conceding and announcing it's going to happen, EA still finds a way to muddy the waters by using the word "likely"... c'mon! As if there's a chance it may not happen?? - DUMB! This shows how inept and disconnected EA truly is from its customer-base. For a public corp., it's clear they're not run...
