I mean, isn't that generally what it is? A few faceless bad eggs pulling the strings at the top and ruining it for the rest of us? I think one of the most powerful points that the Chernobyl series advocated was for activism in the face of the most extraordinary and terrifying of circumstances, and that through activism, personal sacrifice and speaking truth to power, that the truth will ultimately force those in power to act. Though, I find that notion equally depressing because it seems ...
Russia is whacked... very reminiscent of something the North Korean regime would push. Just like Russia insists the HBO Chernobyl mini-series is US propaganda. *rolls eyes* The oddest part about these communist regimes is that when they challenge facts, they offer little to no additional information or evidence to support their often illogical claims.
I think we have crossed into new territory here in gaming journalism and game design/development. What I mean by that is just take note of the vast variation of review scores that have come out following the release of this game; they go from 1.5/5 to 9/10. I think the reason behind this is due to the polarizing nature of open-world games and the vast quantity of time, energy, meandering and intimacy they command in order to complete. Game reviewers are supposed to remain objective when they ...
What we need is Sniper Elite V ... Yeah, this is cool, but I'm hoping Rebellion finally announces the long-awaited follow-up to one of my favorite games of the last several years.
LOL... OK. I've found that fanboys like you can't come up logical arguments so you revert to shaming those who do not share your opinion. I have my opinion and you have yours. But it's OK, go ahead and continue to pay for and support Bethesda's borderline unethical money-making practices and unfinished, inexcusably embarrassing products.
Lackluster doesn't even begin to describe the travesty and train wreck that F76 represents for Bethesda. I hope it sinks the dev finally so that a development studio WAY more talented and capable can give the Fallout series the attention it rightly deserves. Call me a troll, but I've been a lifelong Fallout fan since Black Isle's 1st game and the only thing Fallout here is in the name... otherwise this turd deserves to share the same fate as Atari's E.T.; buried in the southwe...
Really... does anyone really care about Crackdown 3 any longer? This game has been in development for seemingly ages and the problems surrounding its development have appeared to be like fireworks going off in a library. Just release it or let it die already.
Begs the question... just what is the point of RDR2's multiplayer component?? I've played it and it seems shallow and hollow vs. the single player game which is robust and bursting at its seams with style and purpose. Is it just me that feels this way?
SotE was an imperfect, yet significant game in the Star Wars games lineup. Definitely not at the top (for me), but I'm glad it got made. Personally, I'd put the Jedi Knight series and Rogue Squadron at the top, but some other close favorites would be Dark Forces (also featuring Kyle Katarn from JK), Rebel Assault II and the Knights of the Old Republic games.
Yeah, exactly. I think people believe the subscription model will become the *only* model, and that's just daft. Companies are always on the look out for generating new revenue streams in any market. The games industry is no exception. As I said - I believe it's possible for digital media and physical to co-exist. If the model is designed well enough with a fair enough price point, it will garner the attention and business that it deserves. If not, it will fail. Simple as that.
This is the point I made in my post above. I've received nothing but down votes from people even though I've been clear that this subscription model is not something I'm interested in and that I will always prefer to purchase physical over digital. The evolution of this business model is inevitable though. Apparently, people want to live in denial about the direction of the industry.
To add to my comment - I'm also not saying I'm in favor of eliminating physical game releases either! Quite the contrary... I am an avid games collector and have been for 20+ years, so whenever I can get a physical copy of a favored game, I will absolutely pay for it especially when given the choice over digital. So for someone like me, the thought of moving into a monthly digital subscription service for games is very unappealing. I had an Nvidia Shield for a year and not once did I ...
This WILL be the future. So the important question here is: How many publishers and devs will proactively hop onboard NOW in an attempt to shape how this future of digital distribution and its monetization will look? Napster may have been the first mainstream music distribution platform, but I think based on that history we can see the toll it took on its most important benefactors, the record industry and labels, while they hemorrhaged hundreds of millions fighting the inevitable only to fin...
@ImGumbyDammit By that flawed logic, why even own a house or physical assets of any nature at all?? Literally anything can happen at any time. So, yes, you're right in that a fire could consume your property or someone could burglarize your home and steal your stuff, but in the same token, you could also get hit by a car tomorrow... so, what's your point??
You could also purchase intangible investments like Bitcoin and then a hacker could raid your PC today and rem...
I haven't played this because frankly I think VR is s*** mostly and I'm waiting for a truly genre defining moment (which has not happened yet). That said, I don't care how good this game may feel, there's no possible way it comes close to the mother of all Mech simulations: Steel Battalion. That is a game which truly made you feel like you were piloting an upright, bi-pedal war machine. I mean c'mon, it had a 40+ button controller w/ pedals and a windshield wiper button! C...
Well, good point. The end result would kind of be the same. You blew $4500 and still get to go home with nothing in hand. Except, you've maybe got some very expensive memories! lol
This is just another reason why I don't back early-access titles. The only 2 I have ever contributed to were Wasteland 2 and Pillars of Eternity several years ago now. The scope of what RSI is attempting to achieve is unbelievable (if they can pull it off), but so far all they've released are glorified tech demo modules. Sadly, as others have stated, they've suckered the masses into their black hole, so to speak, where there is no financial recourse from dissatisfaction or otherwi...
That is the irony of it all. They *are* worthless, but those who partake can justify it because of how little they pay for a small window of entertainment/enjoyment. The justification for many is this: I pay $10-15 dollars to go enjoy a 2hr or less movie that I don't own and can't enjoy after I leave the movie theater, so what's 5 dollars for a digital item that I *do* own (I'm using the term "own" very loosely since it's all tied to DRM) and I *can* enjoy for ma...
Randy Pitchford - "the snake oil salesman of the games industry."
Are we seriously having this discussion? Who the f*** cares. Use whatever you like. As long as the game is good, who gives a rat's a**. Did putting music into tiny, nondescript boxes called "genres" change anything? No. There's still a lot of shite music made and some good. Labels don't change anything.
