At this rate the original backers will be dust by the time we get the first official game... what a joke. For those of you who feel the need to argue that "well, they're doing something really special and unprecedented here." I say to you, three words: No Man's Sky. Very few ppl actually give a sh*t about a company that vacuums money for a living and placates backers with lofty tech demos which rarely come to fruition. Let's be real. It's been nearly 8 years already!...

And unfortunately, many people will buy into them just like they do now without a thought to the long-term damage being done. People say loot boxes mattered to them and piecemealed content matters, but they still turn around and buy the base-game and more anyways without thinking about the long standing effects. It's called ENABLING. Look it up! Rewarding some shitty pub/dev for abhorrent/scummy behavior and business strategies shares a very close resemblance to helping say your drunkard ...

Did we play the same game?? It played like an antiquated mobile game developed 10+ years ago, not a modern day game like Ori or Hollow Knight... Annoying unskippable animations, boring level design, EMMIs were interesting at first and more frustrating later, to name a few gripes. Honestly, the best part of the game was the final boss and the very end. Dread feels like a little bit of a cash grab by Nintendo to me. They know what players really want - a sequel to Prime - but instead we got a g...

You missed out if you never played the NOLF games... they were fantastic and hilarious, and still to this day, not a game has come close to replicating the magic of those games. I've read many articles over the years about how Night Dive Studios has tried desperately to corral the rights on multiple occasions, but alas... the source code is seemingly missing/gone and no one truly knows who owns it. Unbelievable, really... So, if we ever hope to see the NOLF games live on, someone would ha...

Gameplay and particle effects look cool, but the body physics look like absolute crap... That is just not how a human body reacts when hit with live rounds. When will developers understand that and start adding realistic physics instead of having said enemy flip over and fly 10 feet backwards from a single round??

@respekanize91 Don't think I or anyone else on this site will convince you otherwise, but this game is FAR from trash. That's absolutely ridiculous especially coming from someone who hasn't played the game. If you rely solely on all the coverage currently bubbling to the surface in the media right now (which has been nearly all negative b/c that's WHAT SELLS clicks) then of course you would steer clear and decide it not being worth your time. I will fully admit to you that the...

I can't possibly buy into any review that has dropped at this point. These people are not playing the release version w/ day one updates which fixes some of the major bugs referenced in these reviews. Beyond that, I can't buy in b/c there's NO conceivable way these people took their time and were able to see the entirety of the game in such a short span of time. Period. What these reviews represent are snapshots of a *portion* of the game. The game WILL be improved through day one...

My thoughts exactly. Somehow I've heard people from all corners of the internet proclaiming XIII as some beloved title that went on to gain "cult status" ... all along, I'm asking myself - did I miss something when I played this game many years ago?? It was very mediocre at best. Cool cell-shaded, graphic novel aesthetics, and David Duchovny's voice work encompass about all it had going for it. Nostalgia can be a mischievous visitor.

Oh lord... stop. Just stop whining like a little baby. You WILL play this game, so just go away with your entitlement complex. Sometimes life is hard. Fortunately, a game being delayed isn't life or death... it could always be MUCH, MUCH worse...

This. And they have all the capability to deliver on this promise. They know the game will still sell like hot cakes regardless of any major/minor delays. People are fickle and easily forgive/forget when it ultimately comes down to it so anyone that is sitting there saying they won't buy the game now b/c of this latest delay is all talk... they will at some point b/c they won't be able to stand the hype and the fact that all their friends are enjoying the game while they sulk about so...

I mean, I get what you're saying b/c it would inevitably sell more next-gen consoles over time (no doubt), BUT... they be leaving all others out in the cold who have current-gen consoles and aren't ready to take the leap/investment for various reasons. Although, I've gotta say how surprised I have been with the fidelity they have been able to squeeze out of say the PS4 hardware with examples like God of War, TLoU2, FFVII Remake, and Ghosts of Tsushima to name a few recent and asto...

Yeah, this was always just a glorified tech demo/tech wet dream for this dev... They're happy to take people's money to fund this little pet project, but confidence and patience have been eroding for a long, long time. Especially when they think they can charge hundreds of dollars for digital items... that is absolutely absurd!

Frankly, I'm surprised more people haven't chosen to sue or just request their money back. At the very least, people should be able ...

PC. That is all. The hardware already exists... if these developers actually utilized the EXISTING hardware, we would see these leaps in graphical fidelity right now. Who cares about PS5 or Xbox X (or whatever it's called).

The core gameplay loop got old and repetitive very quickly in Odyssey. Beautiful and super intriguing world, but environments felt very static with little interaction available. The endless recycling of quests also prevented the game from reaching "great" status in my mind. It felt like they mashed in Destiny/Borderlands quest-styling and were trying to be like those games, more than a true AC game. I couldn't even finish it despite putting around 35-40 hrs into it. My favorite ...

Sorry, this guy is just plain wrong. Physical games are a thing and they will always be a thing. People enjoy the idea of holding something physical for many reasons, and that mindset is a human mindset. It's also something that extends beyond the games industry. Fact is, people just love to collect stuff, and while videogame memorabilia is fun, it doesn't replace owning a physical copy of your said game.

Another point worth mentioning - "Collector's Editi...

@-Foxtrot You're speaking semantics. I understand the differences, but you missed my point it seems. My point was that making the quip, "Welp, thanks for making a game on hardware that I don't own, guess I'll never play it!" is passive aggressive and spiteful. Of course you will get the chance to play it IF you give it a try given the fact that that's how we practically justify most of our large purchases, isn't it? We prefer to test drive it before being convinc...

Lol... VR headsets won't be super expensive forever as long as people start buying them. Your statement is a regressive one though b/c the same could be said about an exclusive game that launches on a gaming system/platform that you don't own, right? You may want to play it, but if you're not going to or don't want to purchase the hardware out of spite, well then sure I guess you never will experience it. The difference here is that Valve felt the need to expand VR gaming as a...

This seems hard to believe... The reality is that Valve got complacent and it began to show years ago that they valued owning the digital gaming landscape through Steam more than they valued their fans and their own underlying talent as a developer... and that is what hurt US the most.

That said, I must also give Valve credit on the other side of the argument b/c I think Steam single-handedly saved PC gaming and pulled it back from the brink many times over the last decade...
