To even speculate that a "slimmer" ps3 would have no bluray drive is just plain stupid, it's called breaking compatibility and cutting the nuts off sales of disc based games. I really hate when someone throws this out there, you could grab a blu-ray drive for as little as 30.00 full retail which means that it would prolly cost sony 10.00 a drive...hardly worth leaving out...

I think he is referring to the price of newly released games, not ones that have been out for a while. but, that is the flaw in this article. waiting till the price drops is the best option when the price of the game is too much.
that is the beauty of just waiting and buying the GOTY edition with all the DLC and add-ons for 20.00.
This is an easy one, you just wait till the price goes down, Time is kind to the patient. Everything has a market value attached to it, If you are willing to pay 70, 80 or even 100.00 for a game then the publishers will gladly oblige your stupidity. If you show them that you aren't willing to pay, they will have to lower prices to keep in line with market expectations or risk very poor initial sales.
The lesson here is don't let the publishers treat you like stupid, ...

I had it all preordered, but, then the stupid came out, no video out, new weird memory cards, short battery times.
I just gave up and grabbed a transformer prime with the KB attachment.
16 hrs of battery time, 5 core nvidia processor as well as a 12 core Nvidia video chipset makes it a pretty powerful machine for gaming, plus the addition of being able to use a 360 or PS3 controller and connect it by hdmi to a hi def TV just makes it a winner.

Look what happened with Resistance 2, when they went 2 weapon, they had to lay the weapon you needed conveniently to kill boss so that you had it when you needed it. that is a great way to make a game like resistance predictable. that is one of the reasons why just about every fan of the Resistance series asked for the weapons wheel back. plus, its fun to have more than 2 weapons, damn realism, if I wanted that I would have joined the army instead of playing Half Life. :P
