At the end of the day, games are still products, and no matter how hard a developer worked on the game if things are implemented that ruin the game play experience, like Always on DRM, or no way to win a game if you don't spend extra money on micro-transactions.
It either needs to be fixed or fail in the market. sometimes, that is the ONLY way a Company will learn and change.
Reviewers are going to have to start basing games partially on the "rip-off level" of micro-transactions. whether they are crucial to completing a game "super rip off" or give an unfair advantage in multi-player "rip off" (skill is superseded by how much money your willing to pay for all the advantages.)
All these new ways Developers and Publishers are trying to bilk their already loyal, paying customers is so disillusioning, they are slowly kill...
finally, someone with a brain in their head! Bravo and bubbles!
I owned an Xbox360 day one and I know what cross game chat is like, I'm playing Bioshock by myself at night getting real into it and someone breaks the mood to start chatting to me, asking me if I have a copy of Gears because he wants me to join him in multi...how annoying, I would rather have gotten a pop up bubble with the request, than killing the moment I was having in Bioshock. it's just lame.
"Players Need to Embrace Digital Distribution"
No we Don't...
DD will have to change if Developers and Publishers want to increase DD sales. Like More rights for the customer than we have now, we should be able to back up the DD on physical media and should be able to transfer rights for the DD to a third party. All Devs and Publishers want to do is pull the rights out from under the consumer while we are not looking. I'll will stick to phys...
Sonic200, that picture of Sonya looks like Dolf Lundgren on hormone therapy.
I'll stick with physical media, I like the idea of either selling or giving the game away after I'm done with it. with digital downloads on a console it is ALL WIN for the Developr and ALL LOSE for the consumer.
yeah, like playing burnout 3, I still don't know why Criterion won't release a Burnout collection, do they have some sort of Douche running that company?
hey, he made jazz jackrabit for epic back in the day...stupid game, used to ship a shareware version with the gravis gamepad.
"Why I Was Unimpressed by Sony's PS4"
and...nobody cared :(
magic chat, where you don't even need hardware to use it, it's so crazy that it's like your listening to voices in your head!
after all, this is Microsoft, they know how to buy other peoples programs and renam....I mean they will just use their arcane programming skills to create a program that renders hardware in realtime....kinda like Automan (it's an old tv show from the 80's)
Took the words right out of my mouth....
You know what is really annoying, in that early gameplay video where Aliens, Colonial marines is supposed to be unfinished but looks multiple times better, you have Randy Pitchford, speaking in that (oooh, ahhhh look how cool we made this game) voice, implying that the best is yet to come.
and when the game comes out, it is a SAD JOKE how different it looks, and when people call R. Pitchford out for this pathetic attempt to wow us with something that was just smoke and mirrors, he gets...
I'll still take physical media over digital downloads thank you very much.
depending on if you wear a mask or not, you may need some cinder blocks as well....
jmc8888, please link us to the Nintendo articles where, when Nintendo didn't show their console you did the same thing, calling out Nintendo?
show these people that you are not biased and shut their mouths with the links to your comments about the WiiU.
You must not know MS history too well then. forget consoles, MS has been an illegal monopoly for many many years, and every market they enter they have used unfair business tactics to dominate, their first taste of failure was losing to Linux based Operating systems in the server space, where they have to compete on performance and reliability, they could not buy out Linux so that was one of the first times they had to compete on technical merits...and because of that, they do not dominate th...
so...you xbox people DON'T want a reliable console from MS????
and you're NOT interested in lots of unique, interesting and fun titles???!?!
I thought that activision shuttered the studio that made the Project Gotham series after they made Blur?
Frankly, if you follow MS modus operandi, They are more a buyer of tech rather that a creator. Office: purchased company that made it., DOS, purchased from original creator.
well, here is a full list. MS looks more like Frankenstein's monster than a company dedicated to "creating" tech.
