X is never coming. It's time everybody accept that. X is too much of a different beast from the rest of the series, even among spinoffs. On the flip side, VII and VIII are seemingly increasingly unlikely as the 3DS edges closer to the end of its life, but XI should be coming our way, as the main numbered titles usually do for the first iteration outside of extenuating circumstances.
The author didn't enjoy Alpha Sapphire and Omega Ruby for very different reasons than I did. It wasn't so much that I got bored, but more I was incredibly disappointed with many of the changes made that I felt actually damaged the experience.
What may have grinded my gears the most was them just tossing the all party experience share at you as early as they could reasonably get away with, effectively removing any and all difficulty the game could ever reasonably posse...
I agree that Donkey Kong has grown a bit complacent over the years, having seemingly no way for the series to truly evolve from the perspective of Nintendo and their studios. Granted, there are directions Donkey Kong could be taken that would make DK relevant once more in a bigger way than simply playing to nostalgia with another side-scroller.
What I want to see is another attempt at a 3D Donkey Kong adventure. I would even be okay with it being a collectathon, granted it wa...
Having played this myself, I don't get this view. Minecraft itself is completely and utterly directionless. They would need ten episodes to provide a backstory that wasn't considered tacked on. At that point, I'd rather be thrust into the life of characters going about their business. These people are friends. The main character has a pet pig. They're excited for EnderCon and have existing character relationships.
I found the art style charming. It still felt ...
For anybody that only watches the video and doesn't click out to the actual article, Dragon Ball Heroes is just a Japanese arcade card game. They've made a few videos featuring fan desired transformations before that is basically just edited and reworked DBZ or DBGT footage.
And yeah, as far as the transformations go, GT SSJ4 is too uniform for its own good. It doesn't leave much character personality intact in terms of appearance.
Also, I strongl...
I wonder if the writer of this article is aware of the size and scope of some indie studios. Indie doesn't mean small. Indie simply means independent. An independent studio can be as small as a one man team and as large as 100+ people. All that matters is that they are not owned or operated under a specific publisher or other company.
For example, Harmonix is an indie studio, and Rock Band 4 could technically be considered an indie title. Despite that, the game still sell...
This just in, Nintendo's online community with such heavy handed moderation is artificially the best community around because all the asshats are more readily silenced due to the small and easier to manage size of the network. This also just in, I have zero issues on systems with voice chat and communication that generally isn't moderated in any real way.
I just don't like the way Nintendo deals in their online. It is pretty featureless and basic, and it's the...
This is such a clickbaity bullshit title.
One is set in pre-history and one is post-history. I don't know why people are so intent on comparing games that take place on far, opposite ends of human existence.
Horizon: Zero Dawn being post-history means that modern elements can exist to shape the experience, with a story that has the ability to call back to before the downfall of civilization.
Far Cry Primal on the other hand will be relying on information we have from fossils, ancient tools, and a...
I can understand why you only have two bubbles.
It's just super unnecessary at this point. The fact that a PS3 version released at all was exclusively to push more copies in Japan, whereas that isn't as much of an issue in the west where the titles will sell about the same regardless of platform availability.
It's already a fairly niche title, and I doubt it has to sell much to break even. At the same time, it will be impressive in a disappointing way if the Vita version outsells the PS4 version.
I'm not too terribly surprised. The game feels very western in nature, and the art style likely fails to appeal at all. It's still a good game, but some titles just aren't meant for some regions.
Any Borderlands fans should not miss out on Tales from the Borderlands for only $8.49. It's a seriously good deal for what may be the best adaptation Telltale has done.
Really? Waiting until the end of 2015 to say how Vita AAA support is dead when we haven't had a release or announcement in the better part of two years now on the AAA level? As much as I love the machine, any owner should recognize that AAA has not been a focus on the Vita when it has been all but ignored at major Western gaming conventions for two years now, with Japan's TGS only really giving it the time of day for AA ARPG and JRPG titles.
Well, I mean, the system of growth isn't new. In fact, it's super old as far as gaming goes. It's just a hard one to do effectively while planning out specific difficulty progression due to the very RNG nature of growth in certain respects, so developers often stick to experience in some form because it's just easier. You have staple points of progression, and you know that you are getting stronger in noteworthy ways. You will always get "x" skill as long as you use ...
I'm kind of curious as to where these Pip Boy Editions came from. Bethesda officially announced some time back that they were legitimately unable to produce anymore of the Pip Boy Editions due to the factory they were using needing to move on to other contracts. Did Microsoft just manifest a few thousand more for the UK, or was there a wave of cancelled pre-orders for some reason that Microsoft decided to make a deal for? It's kind of odd.
The inherent problem in expecting a game to be re-reviewed post-patches is the fact that to accurately determine that bugs were fixed without new potentially crippling bugs being introduced, a reviewer would have to completely replay a game start to finish again. Speaking as a budding gaming journalist, a lot of games come out that need reviews, and oftentimes the buggiest games are large, time consuming experiences due to content or simply due to the bugs themselves.
As a re...
lol thanks. I'll accept the blame if the need arises. :p
This is what I've been hearing from a lot of people, and as a Dragon Quest fan, this seems like an obvious choice. I'll be buying it tomorrow, and I can't wait to sink some hours into it.
