FF VII has a few issues that have plagued it and keep it from what I feel is the height of Final Fantasy. I found the Materia system too grindy, the story was only okay, and overall it wasn't as captivating of an experience for me as it was for others. I played this at the same time I was playing other PS1 JRPG titles like FF VIII, IX, and Legend of Dragoon around 15 years ago now, but FF VII was the weakest of the bunch for me in multiple ways. The author is off base saying the story was...
I still just want to change my PSN name. External HDD support would be welcome too.
That leak was a FF fan's wish, and although it would certainly have been popular of SE to go all out, financially, it would be stupid to blow years worth of strategy and potential releases in a single year. We'll see the same trickle of FF remasters and re-releases that we have been for years now, no more and probably no less.
It isn't three months. It's just over two months, one of them being the shorter February at that. And I think the delay is strategic. By April the release schedule for the year is slowing down a bit, and it's more likely to nab earlier sales. If it released now or even in February, it would be one in a flood of releases.
I personally still need time to beat Gravity Rush 2, Kingdom Hearts 2.8, and Tales of Berseria. And that's before games like Horizon: Zero ...
It isn't just the size of the screen. It's a 240p screen supported by hardware that was already kind of weak when the 3DS launched. It got good support as a Nintendo handheld, but it has never been the place to go for even remotely graphically impressive games.
You're basically paying for the movie, the development of 0.2, and the costs of actually remastering 3D and not just going the cut scene route again. I'm sure it will drop quickly enough, but the price to effort ratio does make enough sense to justify the cost. 1.5 + 2.5 is cheap at this point because it's just a slightly more polished port of work they've already done.
The art style lends itself well to still looking impressive without absolutely pushing the hardware to a standstill at 30 FPS. Leaving enough power intact to manage 60 FPS should offer a smooth battling experience.
All the games are the main storyline. There are no unnecessary titles except maybe Coded. The unnumbered titles are actually more important than the numbered ones considering they contain the majority of the truly important story details. Saying mainline games when it comes to KH means nothing.
It's more like the 9th or 10th entry. I can't be bothered to count the exact number right now. It's safe to say the story will make zero sense for anybody jumping in at the last game though.
Definitely. Sony is particular because they will not allow any mods that require enough resources to decrease OS functionality in a significant way.
Nintendo will be particular because they have a history of their systems being hacked wide open and are probably reasonably worried that their method of deeper mod integration may come with a flaw that allows for hackers to make their first breach.
In this case, with Sony's history, as the increasing number of VR doomed articles reach higher degree numbers here show, artificial shortages would be a stupidly risky move. Sony knows their history with peripheral support is a bit spotty, to put it nicely, and pulling a Nintendo, probably the worst industry example to follow, would be almost too stupid to comprehend.
I'm pretty certain it is legitimately a lack of stock. These can't be quick units to manufactur...
It's only been out a few months and sold so well that stocking the PS VR has been a trial for Sony since manufacturing can't keep up. This doom and gloom click bait really shows that some sites have nothing worthwhile to talk about.
This review is strange. It's another case where I feel the number undermines the actual review. We see 6.5 as "uh oh" for a review number, but the review itself is fairly positive and the reviewer seemed to enjoy the experience outside of the number and length of cut scenes, as well as environmental choices sometimes making combat excessively difficult.
Without the number there, this review would be seen as positive rather than negative.
Any of them could, really. Bamco hasn't gotten beyond the PS3 era circa 2010 in terms of development standards. I don't imagine any of the Tales games to date would be particularly difficult to port.
I opted for a Collectors Edition just because. I didn't like Zestiria, but it was mostly things that I see as fixed based on what I've seen so far for Berseria. Worst case scenario is I sell the collectors edition as a whole and get most of my money back. Best case is I really enjoy the game and am happy with my purchase.
Agreed, hooking a tablet up to a TV really isn't revolutionary. PSP has been able to be hooked up to the TV for the past decade, and that itself is an evolution of the Gameboy Player on the Gamecube and the Super Gameboy back on the SNES.
We've always been working with ways to blur the line between portability and the couch experience. Nothing about the Switch is revolutionary or new in this respect. Plus, even phones and tablets have experimented with things like M...
Thankfully Ys games have a good record for being localized, and with the Vita version coming out in Japan last year, localizing would be the safest bet for maximizing sales of the PS4 version.
Two Zeldas has become par for a Nintendo console generation.
N64 got OoT and MM
GC got WW and TP
Wii got TP and SS
Heck, even the handhelds often get multiple Zelda entries of some kind. The Wii U is the odd man out only getting a single cross generational Zelda that is basically acting as the Wii U's grave stone.
I would start questioning Nintendo even more if they couldn't manage one more Zelda before they mo...
Naughty Dog knows when they're done with an IP. After this DLC, past a few more updates for Uncharted 4, I don't expect anymore Uncharted from Naughty Dog ever again. After Crash and Jak, Naughty Dog does not seem like a developer who keeps with a series just because it is successful. They tell their story then turn to a new one.
Did you just imply that Nintendo listens to their fans? lol is all I can say to that.
