To be fair, Mario 64 already started the trend. It had more choice it what you went for and when, sure, but as Super Mario Sunshine had some sprites you could go after in any order (like red coin ones), Mario 64 had some stars that would trigger events only during that star (Thwomp battle, King Bob-omb, Koopa the Quick, etc.). Even then, some level of linearity was built in to the hub world itself, making it so you had to get a certain number of stars from one world to unlock the door to anot...
Honestly, a Mario Sunshine HD could fix the camera issues and make just enough tweaks to basically perfect Sunshine as one of the best Mario games ever made. I deeply enjoy giving Sunshine a periodic playthrough on my Gamecube, and seeing an HD version addressing the more prominent issues would make it a real win in my book.
Anyone who has gamed knows that temperature alone is enough reason to dismiss a laptop. My desktop already gets warm enough to crank up the temperature of the room its in by a few degrees. When I gamed on a laptop, there were legitimate concerns of getting burned with temperatures that likely risk damaging the internal components over time.
Otherwise the advantages of a gaming desktop as a whole are numerous. I get if a laptop works for one person, but there's a reason ...
Bamco is barely past last gen. Expecting them to pull the full power out of anything is a total pipe dream. I appreciate the company for what they do to bring so many Japanese games to the rest of the world, but their titles hardly tend to be the pinnacle of graphical standards or achievements.
This is correct. Pre-orders are going to open up way closer to the release date for the US. I think it's an effort to prevent longer term scalping efforts on pre-orders.
It's strange to hear that it had such an uninspired development process, with the team broken to pieces before the project was even finished. It explains the long gaps between episodes though. They were some of, if not the longest gaps between episodes in any Telltale series to date. The truly disappointing thing about this is that Tales from the Borderlands may have been their truest, best adaptation to date.
Tales from the Borderlands fit the world perfectly, and mana...
The recommended specs are pretty standard for 1080p/60 FPS from current titles. Nothing surprising here.
This is basically guaranteed.
Crash 1, 2, and 3
Jak 1, 2, and 3
Uncharted 1, 2, 3, and 4
The Last of Us 1, 2, and...
Naughty Dog likes to make trilogies and I think they generally toss in a fourth game too, though Uncharted is the only one to get four numbered titles so far. I'm thinking The Last of Us will stop at three games though. The story of Joel and Ellie can't be as thoroughly expansive as that of Nathan Drake without risk...
I'm surprised the PS4 and 3DS versions of DQXI are so close. With handheld focused Japan, I expected a larger gap, although spectacular sales were still guaranteed for both. I'm glad to see the massive effort that went into the big and beautiful PS4 version is being appreciated though. It will be interesting to see the digital sales and which version ultimately came out on top.
The PS4 version is guaranteed. The 3DS version is likely but then again I don't know how the VII and VIII 3DS releases did outside of Japan. If the 3DS doesn't have enough life left with the international audience to push slightly more niche titles in a meaningful way, it is plausible that the 3DS version could be passed up.
Realistically though, we'll probably see both PS4 and 3DS versions.
Dragon Quest just doesn't simultaneously release. There are no specific factors other than the series isn't big enough in the West to warrant the effort. The fact that we have a 2018 release window is genuinely surprising in a good way. I was expecting at least a two year wait.
People such as yourself are making a lot of mistakes about why people buy these. Not everybody is okay with pirating, so the constant cries of "get an emulator" are more like "just be okay with doing this illegal thing" because we all know that emulator isn't just magically going to have games. Or are we assuming everyone already has an extensive physical SNES collection and has totally made legal backups of these games, including the one that was never even released b...
Hallelujah! I don't pull out my PSP much these days, and having Ys 7 on PC will be infinitely more convenient.
It's a Warriors game. There is nothing surprising here.
Question: Where does N4G stand on cosplay? One site in particular seems to submit pieces about attractive female cosplayers cosplaying video game characters, basically using these women as clickbait for their own site, leveraging N4G to get clicks for content that is basically just a culture piece that otherwise is not about gaming news, tech, previews, or reviews.
Is this something N4G is actually okay with, or does it fall into enough of a gray zone as essentially a cultu...
You're thinking of the no death routes that were introduced in Crash 2. Nothing has actually changed in regards to acquiring gems or otherwise.
SE is likely still undecided on the Switch version. It's the best explanation for their silence. They likely don't want to overly downgrade the PS4 version to make it functional on the Switch both docked and portable, but porting the 3DS version would be redundant, under utilize the Switch power, as well as fail to easily provide the modern and retro views side by side effectively. They definitely won't develop a totally separate third version either, leaving the Switch version to...
Particularly since Jak & Daxter for PS4 is a pre-order bonus for Uncharted: Lost Legacy. That basically guarantees an update within the next month.
Uh, why is anyone agreeing with cartoonx1? Microsoft didn't use a vastly different architecture due to vastly different hardware last gen, and they still have to recode parts of literally every game that comes to what they call BC. It's BC that basically involves doing part of the remastering process.
Sony can't even do that much because PS3 games are too different. Although it's fun to live with hope, embracing ignorance to say PS3 BC is totally on the way ...
The problem is that you're literally saying Super Mario Sunshine started trends that it didn't. Acting like the 3D games were not at all impacted by the games that came before is absolutely ridiculous. Nintendo didn't just straight up ignore their 2D design models in advancing towards the 3D realm. The only reason I got any disagrees is because it's not cool to say something that may be seen as remotely negative towards Nintendo's design decisions, since "linear"...
