Bought it on sale not too long ago as well (cheap PS5 game) - I'm fairly gutted. haha.

If you bought it within the last 14 days and haven't downloaded it yet then you can request a refund

It's the Ultimate Edition of Control as well so that's 2 PS5 games this month

2 PS5 games for February, guys

You actually can see the classic trophy layout on the PS5. Just tap triangle and compare your trophies to a friend and it brings up the old layout (that's the quickest way to do it). They should just let people pick which one they prefer since it's already there.

I actually like the new trophy layout (it feels more gamey) but it needs a lot of work. Most trophy descriptions are too long and don't fit, and the text doesn't automatically scroll so you have to ...

The lack of the double tap is driving me mad. It's such a big omission. You can't casually jump back and forth between a game and its trophies anymore (except in Borderlands 3 because you can access trophies from the pause menu).

Whenever I want to look at trophies I just look them on PSNProfiles now

Gotta show the Furi developers some true love, guys

Most optimization happens towards the end of a project so the frame rate will be steadier at release. They still have 3.5 months left for optimization.

"Hey honey. Did you know that you would make a compelling villain? Look at this."

@esherwood

The game was in full production for 4 years, not since 2013 so there's no need to go on about "15 years". An extra 4-12 months would let the developers properly finish the game and iron out the bugs. The game was often at 15fps on launch on consoles and is now already quite a bit better. Why? Because those ports weren't finished. I get that you like the game but you're being very dismissive of legitimate criticism.

The gam...

I think the different perspectives offer a different sort of immersion in games. It's hard to describe exactly but games have to be designed to take advantage of the perspective that they're using, e.g. the originals are designed around fixed camera angles and wouldn't work as well if you JUST changed the perspective.

I'd say by default third person offers a bit more safety for the player though - a notable buffer. Claustrophobic environments are the best wa...

What criticisms weren't warranted?

lol. The guy wrote and co-directed TLOU and Uncharted 4 and was a lead designer and writer on Uncharted 2.

And now you're calling anyone who enjoyed those games morons because you were offended over an "ambiguous gendered villain" and it didn't offend them. It really is "political correctness gone mad."

@Vegamyster

It was described as a gameplay system, not as a piece of lore. "send the law after players" is a gameplay system.

"Maybe you shouldn't assume things because that's not an argument." You then go on to agree with me that you know that he is lying about the QA. C'mon, man. I clarified exactly what I meant in a second reply to make sure there was no confusion.

Note:
When I said "I know you don't believe that", I meant that I know you don't believe the obvious lies (that they just didn't see issues in QA). Don't that is clear from the way I finished my comment.

That's actually not true. They did talk about the wanted system in 2019, and how unlike GTA, they police could take bribes. Corporations could even bribe the police - that's how interactive they said it was. There's more on top of this as well:

The end result is not what the developers intended or wanted because the game was rus...

A very weak response to Jason's piece. The things you don't say, say an awful lot.

He chose to completely ignore crunch and the claim that the release was much sooner than expected which says all you need to know. If it wasn't true, he would have simply stated that it wasn't true.

"Also, car ambushes exist in the final game almost verbatim to what we showed in the demo." A van cannot dynamically pull up on you in the world and we...

- Fake E3 demo.
- Didn't start full production until 2016.
- Was going to be third person.
- Developers expected a much later release date than April 2020.
- 13 hours a day crunch, ruining some relationships.
- Development was poorly coordinated.

This report makes that recent apology video seem even more disingenuous.

Not a bad list.

It would be nice if games like The Talos Principle could appear on lists like these, but I suppose a lot of people just don't care for puzzle games. Outer Wilds has gotten some attention though.

Not releasing a digital PS5 makes zero sense. For Sony it means they cut out the middle man and get more profit per copy, and a cheaper console lowers the barrier to entry. Most people are buying games digitally now so it's a nice option, and unlike something like the Series S, it will have zero impact on game development
