Halo Infinite's online numbers are outside of the top 100 on Steam as well. https://store.steampowered.... I think Halo's main issue is a lack of content, tbh. I played some of it on Steam on my gaming laptop - it needs way more maps and Forge.

Also, the comment thread above yours is 3 spam accounts made today, upvoting and have a fake comversation with each other to go after a mod. Wtf...

Getting dumped over PSN would be fairly rough. lol.

Post Void and Salt And Sacrifice look pretty good.

I'd really appreciate ports of Katana Zero, Ape Out and Baba Is You though.

Not sure why the Katana Zero port never released because it was even rated. https://www.gematsu.com/202...

Seems like they put in a huge amount of effort.

Anyone interested in using the motion controls to help line up headshots?

"Horizon Forbidden West also features optional motion sensor controls; using the DualSense wireless controller’s built-in accelerometer and gyroscope you can make intuitive micro-adjustments to aimed shots for that extra touch of precision."

I appreciate that Strauss is deeply regretful.

He didn't knowingly rush it out the door just to have something to boost quarterly revenue while waiting for a new GTA5 port. It was all an accident and they genuinely didn't even know about the bugs, just like CD Projekt RED.

The mock reviews were all good and the game being a horrendous POS was a complete shock. Thanks for doing the tough thing and being honest, Strauss.

The average Metacritic score for this is around 50, and the user score average is around 0.6 (no platform higher than 0.9).

Everyone who bought this in its current condition is the reason we get buggy, unfinished games. And it wasn't only casuals who bought it regardless of how poor of a product it was.

The haven't updated the game for over two months (patch 1.05) either. They're promising updates but they seem to be in no hurry to fix even mi...

"Did you read that they would still be smaller than Sony even with this Acquisition?"

This talking point is based on an objectively false assumption. It assumes that Sony and MS's (combined with Activision's) revenue would remain roughly the same if the biggest gaming franchise was removed from Sony's platform.

We all know that's not true. Sony would lose billions from their yearly revenue through lower console sales (although, m...

They'd get extra sales if they'd bother patching the games to 60fps on PS5 and Series X|S as well.

The games were even originally released with an unlocked framerate (I think it was technically capped to 60fps) which they then capped to 30fps. It would be barely any effort at all to unlock it again.

I honestly think that the article title is just trolling people for easy clicks.

Casuals are a lost cause (e g. FIFA Ultimate Team) but there is some hope for games made for core gamers. We did stop loot boxes in a lot of games. We just have to be willing to cause a fuss like that again which people are thankfully doing for NFTs at least (EA are backing away from them for now).

@sparky77

By the end of 2024, there will probably be at least 60m PS5s. You wouldn't realistically be able to get most people to switch at that point until the following gen when people will be willing to buy another console again.

Basically, in the short term, they would lose a lot of revenue if they took that strategy. They spent almost $70b and are thinking long term though. I have no doubt that they are considering it.

If they suddenly remove COD from PlayStation in 2024 (platform with highest sales and revenue), that revenue would go down by billions though.

We already know it's MW2 (2022).

I skip most CODs, but I'm interested in MW2 as well. I'd like to think it wouldn't launch with barely any maps again.

Unfortunately, in the long term, it seems that Microsoft is taking the same approach that they took with Bethesda (once existing contracts run out).

Personally, I want further Tony Hawk remakes to stay multiplatform (3 is rumoured to be being re-made) but they'll probably cancel those ports. Sigh. I loved the PS5 version of Pro Skater 1+2.

@dumahim

You might not have seen it, but that's why I said "after 2023" for COD in my second comment.

Sony are rumoured to get at least 2 more annual CODs and Warzone 2. Those are the contractual obligations for MS.

@DOMination-

It's not about being petty. COD, FIFA and GTA are the most important console franchises.

Sony needs to ensure that they all stay on PlayStation, or it will be a major blow to their revenue and perhaps console sales in the long run. Losing FIFA would screw them in Europe, for example.

And right now, these companies are willing to burn money to make money later on. Making COD exclusive to Xbox after 2023 would lose billio...

You think MS will get away with buying Activision and Take Two, or that Sony is going to buy T2?

Sony can afford actually Take Two if you look at T2's worth (plus 40%) and Sony's cash in hand, so they might get into a bidding war which MS would obviously win if they thought regulators wouldn't be a problem (Activision is already the biggest tech buyout of all time).

And T2 did buy Zynga recently ($12.7billion).

Jesus, this i...

Yeah, I hate all this stuff, tbh.

I feel like Sony did this almost as a threat (they've likely known about the Activision buyout for a while). Basically, you keep COD on PlayStation past 2023 or we'll pull ___. But if you nuke us, we'll nuke you (they need the threat of mutually assured destru- well damage, to keep MS in line).

Bungie probably isn't enough though (comparatively, it's a small acquisition) so the acquisition war is far f...
