I don't think so. Think about it.

- It's the biggest tech deal in history. It won't be particularly easy to find another buyer.
- MS will have to pay Activision $3b if this acquisition doesn't go forward - other companies would be afraid to try acquire a company if a previous buyout was blocked and the company attempting to purchase it lost that much money.

Orchard, your comment is the opposite of reality. lol. I don't think they even added any PS2 games. They've added a few PS1 and PSP games.

The classics part of the service has been the worst part, and the part that people are actually complaining about.

Whereas, PS Plus Extra has been fairly good. Have you actually used the service ... ?

I don't really understand people that think that timed exclusivity is worse. I'm glad that games like Bioshock, Oblivion, GTA: Episodes from Liberty City, Mass Effect 2, Rise Of The Tomb Raider, etc still came to PlayStation after being timed exclusives.

These days you usually know the exclusivity period and it's sometimes even in the trailers/marketing.

For example, we know that Silent Hill 2 is 12 months, Stalker 2 is 6 months, etc.

This article useful because it gives us Kotick's PR (most articles are missing this) ... but it has no information about the EU Commission's comments, explaining why they even moved to Phase 2.

N4G is a bit too rigid sometimes. Now any article with important information on the EU's decision will likely be blocked by a mod because Kotick mentions that it's happening and downplays it (it's just his side of the story).

Here is more info...

I would argue that the new Star Wars trilogy is still better. lol

Most Halo fans would kill for the equivalent of The Force Awakens at this stage (a competent rehash of what came before it). Halo Infinite tried to be that but was undercooked and failed. Halo 4 wasn't that either - they started messing with the formula straight away although the story was okay.

There was nothing particularly compelling about Halo 5's story besides the fake plot the...

Halo Infinite and Forza Horizon 5 were next gen only? C'mon, lad. You're just making excuses.

Whether games are next gen or not is largely down to when they started development.

Games like Forbidden West, Ragnorok, Miles Morales and GT7 started development around 2018.

All it shows is that MS only recently started getting their act together.

I will give credit to MS for a few games. The early Halo's were GOTY contenders. And Gears Of War 1 was very advanced for 2006.

But other than that, Sony have consistently published better games, and they've arguably been getting better with each gen.

They could update the Nathan Drake Collection on PS5 to 4K as well.

Get people excited and replaying the whole franchise in anticipation for the next game.

MS made it clear that their intention was to remove COD from PlayStation around 2028 (they offered a 3 year deal beyond Activision's existing contractual obligations).

They drew that as a line, and thought that would be enough to get the deal through.

That's the truth behind the scenes. PR is meaningless. Unless something is in writing or concessions are explicitly made to the regulators, their public sta...

Yeah, just gives us a 60fps patch and resolution bump. It looks better than Gotham Knights. lol. It doesn't need a remake.

They should really patch the Arkham remasters back to being 60fps again like they were at launch. They were very lazy remasters.

So it's the fastest selling Xbox ever ... but they need Activision Blizzard to be allowed to compete?

And they cited Sony raising prices in their argument ... when they intend to do the same for hardware and for services?

And Sony and Nintendo will always be ahead of them ... when they're already right behind Nintendo in revenue already, and have a good chance of surpassing them next year?

Unfortunately, I lack faith in regulato...

For almost all of the 2010s, this definitely wasn't the general consensus (Treyarch were the best). Most people consider Infinite Warfare and especially Ghosts to be among the worst entries in the franchise.

The main reason that Cold War was underwhelming was because Treyarch had barely any time to make it because they had to step in to clean up Sledgehammer's mess.

@CS7

I've criticized all of Sony's genuinely bad decisions like a lack of PS3 compatibility, charging for upgrades, increased prices, etc and I was sympathetic to stuff like the Spider-Man DLC. I've always tried to be objective and jeered people who mocked Xbox's backwards compatibility program. You can look back through my history and see that.

On this topic, there really is an American media bias in favour of Xbox. Almost every outlet ha...

Right now, this dynamic is unfortunately true. Starfield, Redfield, Hellblade 2, COD, Outer Worlds 2 and dozens of classic IP being removed permanently from PlayStation is defended and genuinely promoted as a good or at least acceptable thing, and you're portrayed as a baby and a douchebag if you complain about it ... but then timed exclusives are beyond the pale (and strangely, only when Sony do them).

It's gaslighting and just pure fanboyism. We need to examine wh...

I don't get how Starfield, Redfield, Hellblade 2, COD, Outer Worlds 2 and dozens of classic IP being removed permanently from PlayStation is completely cool and you're portrayed as a baby and a douchebag if you complain about that, but every TIMED exclusive on PS5 is disgusting and unacceptable, and the Spider-Man DLC for Avengers was treated like an act of terror. lol.

It doesn't make sense. The media isn't even bothered hiding their bias anymore, and are p...

To me, under it all, it's still about the same things as the first game:
- losing the person closest to you,
- that loss eating you from the inside out, compromising you and leading you astray,
- finding a way to come back to yourself after all the violence (perhaps too late) through compassion (love, forgiveness),
- Also, a general emphasis on grey morality.

TLOU2, being the second act, is just a darker twist and expansion of the sam...

If true, it says a lot that some devs are willing to lose money to avoid having to develop for the S and dealing with its memory constraints.

I've always felt that MS should have just made a Series X Digital Edition like the PS5. All of the stock would have sold out either way.

1301d ago 56 agree1 disagreeView comment

Yeah. Gotham Knights always looked off. Everyone saying that it would be better than Suicide Squad were on something.

This is another instance of co-op ruining a game. I'm pretty sure that without this co-op constraint, WB Montreal would have made a solid game averaging 77-85 on Metacritic. They already had a framework with the Arkham series which could have been updated with improvements and maybe a twist on some of the series' conventions to produce a well-liked, ...
