I was incredibly happy to read this. I always moan about a lack of new IP and AA games so I'll be supporting Darksiders 3, Wreckfest (already well reviewed) and Metro Exodus provided that they're fairly good.
The more games the merrier. The Switch is only going to get some current AAA games that are either not particularly taxing or are very scalable (e.g. id Software games like Doom). If people are happy to buy the games, I see no issue.

There's really no easy way for gamers to address this issue.
It may be controversial to some (to be blunt, some brainwashed Americans who hate unions for some reason) but developers need to push for unionization because these companies will push them for as much as they can take (same issue with micro-transactons). An individual cannot fight alone for better conditons. Only the collective has that bargaining power (common sense).

Bloom kind of ruins the game. It adds an element of chance to simply aiming and shooting your gun that really shouldn't be there.
That and people building high-rise slums every time they get shot
Allegedly, AC: Odyssey was made without crunch. Crunch is acceptable for a short timeframe but not months or years. Given how recent that controversy was, it's not offensive or odd to address the issue and to provide more context in a review.
One issue doesn't negate the other. By that logic, we should never try to better society because some other aspect of it is bad. It sounds clever until you actually think what you're saying
Wholeheartedly agree. Who has time to read 100+ reviews? I'd rather spend that time actually playing the game. Many of the people who are rallying against scores at the end of a review really are a load of pretentious knobs
Most likely. 97 is a really difficult score to top. The only game with a chance is probably The Last Of Us 2.

If Rockstar's output is more akin to their output from previous generations, that's not going to make them like EA or Activision. Quite the opposite.
EA and Activision make far less core games now as well. The disparity between PS3 EA and PS4 EA is crazy. The PS3-era EA actually made a large variety of great games in spite of their questionable business practices
This is absolutely ridiculous. God help the employees at Rockstar Lincoln in particular.
Part of the issue is that there are a lot of Destiny players who actually want a relentless grindfest.
i believe that last year was the PS4's biggest year in terms of sales. This year is its second biggest year. The small decline in sales doesn't mean much. Last year was a pretty bad year for Xbox. People can spin a narrative with the percentages but the numbers don't lie - the PS4 is consistently outselling XB1 more than 3:1 these days.
I'm a reasonable man. PS3 emulation on PS5? I know the CELL architecture is causing a lot of issues but a man needs his PS3 games.
Also, last week emulation of this game was a literal slideshow and now we're at 14-20fps. We'll see further progress. These guys aren't even being paid to engineer a solution.
1. PS4 and XB1 released around the same time. During their life-cycles, 2 Nintendo consoles have been released.
2. The most reliable way to check how the console market (specifically those that target core gamers) is doing is to look at the PlayStation and Xbox sales numbers. Accounting for Wii and Wii U numbers (perhaps even Switch numbers) would tell a different more muddled story.
