Lucas did unspeakable things
CRank: 13Score: 169360

It's not really the sequel that most people wanted.

I understand his issues with this game. There's some stuff that I like here. The vehicles, space exploration and the look of the world are nice but ..... seeing the tropes of Ubisoft open-world games find their way into this franchise is kind of disheartening. Zooming in to spot locations is in so many Ubisoft games (works exactly the same as Steep) .The focus on online is also really off-putting.

The only potential issues that I've seen is that it's not supposed to be a full open world (broken into segmented areas due to a tight budget but this could be a good thing as well), there's no romance options and the gore/dismemberment from Fallout will be sorely missed. Bethesda should have swallowed their pride and purchased Obsidian years ago.

Users lose all sense of reality and enter another world. Remember, do not underestimate the power of PlayStation.

The double standards in this industry when it comes to Nintendo continues. When all is said and done, the Switch is the system where the least amount of new and interesting games were announced and Nintendo won no awards.

To some people, Persona 5 being announced for PS4 would be a smaller deal than Smash Bros getting a Persona DLC character. We shouldn't take those people seriously.

"What daring idea did they do for GOW?" Did you even play the game?

2717d ago 21 agree2 disagreeView comment

To be fair to RDR2, it certainly makes some bold choices and has raised the bar for open world games. That's kind of crazy when you consider the fact that most Ubisoft open world games don't even feel half as alive as GTA4 (2008).

GOW was a radical reinvention though. I agree that it deserved GOTY. It was so damn good.

This genuinely looks really good. I will say though ... they gotta get a few songs in the game. Some instrumental stuff like in Burnout 2 would do the job.

All those tech demos (Dangerous Golf, Danger Zone 1, the decent Danger Zone 2) seem to have finally gotten us to the real Burnout game.

It looks and functions so much like Burnout 3. Take my f****** money.

It's not an AAA game though. Darksiders 3 seems to have been very cheap.

Is the fact that Fortnite was ported mobile not the implication here though?

It's frustrating that KindaFunny keeps claiming that Black Ops 4 is the best selling game of the year. BO4's estimated physical sales for its first 2 days at retail is 3.68 million units. RDR2 may have lost to BO4 in the November NPD numbers but BO4 came out 2 weeks earlier.

This is interesting data. A lot of people claim that the Switch is outpacing the PS4 for the same timeframe in its lifecycle. While these are only estimates, the Switch was behind the PS4 by 2,282,776 units in October. The different release dates would impact sales data a bit though since different months can garner higher potential sales. Either way, both have performed very well.

They tried to fix it but they never could. If you can enjoy the game in spite of its technical issues, that's fine man. I'm not imagining the issue though. I genuinely don't understand how you can't notice it. Here's a Digital Foundry analysing the performance half a year after launch: https://youtu.be/lgtewCxSg6...

Harsh but fair. This score is deserved.

This score is about what I expected. JC4 is very iterative but focusing on adding more crazy stuff isn't necessarily a bad thing. It's looks like an improved Just Cause playground to mess around in. I'll probably pick this up when it's a bit cheaper. I still feel really burned by JC3.

At least it's actually playable on consoles this time around as well. JC3's framerate was so bad (consistently in the low 20s or less when you actually did anything) th...

Agreed. I hate when people push the idea that review scores should be irradicated considering they are so useful but of all review systems, having scores with intervals of 0.1 is the weirdest. Intervals of 0.5 I understand.

I doubt that Darksiders 3 cost THQ Nordic that much to make, especially considering they opted to barely market the game. I don't think they are going to have to sell an exceptional amount to cover their costs. While we have heard that it barely made a dent in the UK, you have to remember that Hitman 2 and SoulCalibur 6 (a game that seems to be selling well) bombed in the UK as well.

Hellblade's costs (under $10m) were covered by just 300,000 copies. Darksiders 3 i...

From Bioware's previous comments on this installment, it seems like it's going to take a lot of influence from The Witcher 3.
