Games like Jak & Daxter, Ratchet & Clank and Sly were never in the top 20 selling games of the year in the PS2 era though. https://www.gamespot.com/ga...
Astro Bot being the #2 game in October isn't bad at all. lol. It's already outsold the lifetime sales of many of the games you're referring to.
This game has a dynamic resolution scale so it will still look a bit better on the Pro.

It's actually not commonplace anymore. Can't think of a game this gen that I played at 30fps. Unless you're talking about the Switch.
99% of games have 60fps modes these days on consoles. Although it will become slightly more common for a while due to UE5.
But I also won't be surprised if a 60fps mode is added later in Avowed.
What does "unlocking some previously released content" actually mean though? I would imagine it should be "previously unreleased content". Bit odd.
Hopefully once all of the technical issues are ironed out this will overall be a solid game.
Seems somewhat like a Cyberpunk situation although I feel a bit bad for them as it being so rough is likely a side-effect of the Ukraine-Russia War. 😑
It's a shame that some companies apparently aren't using the latest version of PSSR which is causing issues. Hope those ones get fixed and this isn't an issue going forward.
Agreed. A DLC being nominated for GOTY is something we pretty much all agree shouldn't be a thing.
This seems like FromSoft fans getting a bit carried away with themselves. Maybe they justified it in their heads because it has as much content as many standalone games. Idk. Would be interested to know if most critics also disagree with this.
Erdtree being nominated for GOTY is a bit disrespectful and unfair for the new games which came out this year, e.g. Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth.
Its quality deserves to be recognised but it's an expansion, not a new game. It even requires progress in the base game.
If Ongoing Game doesn't really fit for single-player games then come up with a new category for Expansions/DLC.
With indie games being extremely popular on the Switch, I wonder if a lot of people will try get a few more years out of their current Switch before upgrading.
That's not a real issue. The Guardian of all places gave it a 3/5. Enough said, lol. GameSpot also gave it a 7/10.
It's down to a simple difference in taste as some critics wanted a CRPG like Origins.
While most critics like it ... it has an 84 on Metacritic, not a 90+ or anything. It's still much lower than Bioware's highest reviewed games and lower than the other DA games (besides 2 which was rushed).
Reading the angry...
No. The reason is that Capcom decided to get back to focusing on horror again so they went single-player only again like the classic games. Everyone knows that.
"re7 coop" You must be talking about another game.
Shadow Of The Colossus was a big seller which is why they gave them so much money for The Last Guardian.
That game killed the studio (besides Team Asobi), not the smaller projects. The Last Guardian was in development for 10 years across PS3 and PS4. It was very poorly managed. Games back then took 2-3 years. Should have released in 2008/2009.
Then nobody bought it and it's not even really discussed as a cult classic. Gravity Rush actually gets much m...
Would like a new IP before Horizon 3. Just because games take so long to make these days.
Unfortunately, I think this profile is just referencing Red Dead Redemption 1's port.
I would say a trailer next year with a 2026 release.
You just admitted that you didn't even play the game because you believe there was a trans sex scene in the game. lol
We have way more release dates than we did going into 2024, tbf. 2025 seems more like 2023.
I would imagine that people are waiting for reviews as last few Bioware games were bad.
This is an unbelievably stupid move on their part. They need to reverse this.
The 45fps Balance mode is just dumb - they need to make that a 40fps mode for 120HZ TVs.
It needs a performance mode that doesn't use frame gen which increases input lag which a 60fps mode should not be doing.
Because of their inexperience with consoles, they made a lot of questionable porting choices.
