I agree that those are excellent movies, but I still don't think he'd be a good Metal Gear director. There Will Be Blood is an excellent movie, I watched it just recently... but his movies are nothing like the vein that Metal Gear runs through. To me, being a good director doesn't necessarily mean any movie you make will be good. Can you imagine Martin Scorsese trying to do Die Hard? McClane would no longer give memorable lines just before shooting someone up or jumping off a building, but in...
I bought Vista for this PC I'm on now, which I built about a month ago. After updating all of my drivers, I have yet to have a problem. While it's took time to acclimate to the new layouts and whatnot, I have to say that Vista isn't a horrible OS. In most areas, it's at least comparable to XP, and in some ways, outshines it.
It is a bit more of a resource hog than XP was on my old machine, but unless you're running a barely capable system, it's not a huge deal.
What you're saying makes sense from a consumer standpoint, but not necessarily the business end. They may just not see enough demand in the PC gaming world to warrant an additional SKU going out, who knows? Even though there are millions of PC's in the world, it doesn't necessarily mean that there are enough people with capable computer who would be interested in this game but don't have a console to play it on. Not that i know any numbers to back anything up, just saying that there might be ...
I don't know. I can see his point in that you would think that TT would already be screaming out sales numbers. Maybe it's possible that these estimated sales numbers were inflated. I know it's no sign of anything, but very few of my Live friends have been playing it the last few days. Actually, I really wouldn't be overly surprised if they were a bit short than the huge predicted numbers. This game doesn't seem to have as many crazies worshiping it or the huge media blitz that Halo 3 did. <...
"That is unless you have explosive butt syndrome and hover 5ft above the toilet."
That lone sentence earns a bubble for you!!
You have no idea. You should find his article on the 5 worst consoles ever. They're all Sega, except for one: the Virtual Boy. And even in the reason why it wasn't number one he stated that it WOULD have been higher, but wasn't because Nintendo made it. Therefore, since his precious Nintendo made it, it automatically is better than it was.
@ 4.2
I totally understand what IGN said. A good example of that is to look at games like Bioshock. That was a truly phenomenal game... one of the best ever made, in my opinion. But yet, it didn't even HAVE multiplayer and still rated a good number of 10's.
But I personally would go with my old English professor's grading scale: 1-99.9. He always used to say that there is no such thing as a perfect paper on a subject, but that there were the occasional few that woul...
And get rid of whatever back pocket moolah MS gives Gabe Newell so he'll quit being their cheerleader and so that I can play Valve games on my PS3 equally.
I hate Old-Wizard.com. Just a big Nintendo whore who thinks that every word that comes from the mouth of Shigeru Miyamoto is divine speak which must be written and cherished for future generations.
I don't thin Zelda II was overly difficult, but it was harder than most Zelda games. While I thoroughly enjoyed it, I went through Twilight Princess only dying once, and that was because I fell into a pit. Zelda has gotten ridiculousy, especially on boss fights.
I could care less about the fact that these pics are blurred some.. I'm just looking at the new shots and seeing that there is more detail than in the ones I've been looking at over the last few months, and the fact that the lighting has been changed.
It's still an improvement, if you don't think so, go back and look at the different trailers and screenshots that have came out over the months. Instead of trying to prove everyone wrong and say there are no improvements because th...
Downgrade? How on earth do you get that from looking at those pictures? There's much more detail on every object. And the lighting, while definitely turned down, looks much more realistic than the hardcore light bloom that made the previews look like an acid dream.
That whole site is run by a bunch of cross-eyed, drooling monkeys.
As far as I'm concerned, everything that comes from this guy is total crap. This is the same person who said that four of the top five WORST consoles all came from Sega, including the Genesis and Dreamcast... while overlooking CD-i, Jaguar, etc.
Old-wizard.com = site full of retards
Yeah, you know this is a crap list when in the first entry when he says that the Virtual Boy would be higher except that it was made by Nintendo.
I'm sorry, any system that physically pains you when you play it HAS to be at least 1 or 2, no matter who made it.
I think the only reason the Virtual Boy is even on there is because this guy couldn't think of a proper blurb to write about the Sega CD.
Because if you go back to that period, people didn't trust Sega anymore. Their consumer confidence had plummeted because consumers and developers alike had been burned by the Saturn, 32x, Sega CD, etc. Even though the Dreamcast was a good system, and sold well initially, they were all too excited to jump onto other platforms, especially after the Xbox and Gamecube hit.
Speculation: I imagine Blizzard wanted it to be a AAA title because it had the Starcraft title, and neither company (Nihilistic and Swingin Ape) could deliver for them.
Fact: Because it went through two different developers, and neither could get it to a worthwhile state, it cost Blizzard a lot of time and resources. It was constantly delayed for years and Blizzard wasted millions on it, so I'm sure that waste of money caused them to shelve it.
IF it ever becomes a r...
Uh, yeah... that was a joke.
And for the record, he will be 78 next month.
@17.1:
Smaller processors = less heat. Less heat = less cooling needed. So if the heat generation is lowered enough, you could stick these parts into a smaller shell without too many problems. But if it'll be too hot like that, they won't change the shell. Sony doesn't want a PS3 version of the RRoD on their hands, for sure.
I'd even take Tony Scott in a pinch.
