I don't think it would be fair for me to say that, I have played them all except the last one and whilst I enjoyed my time with the games I couldn't claim to be a big fan. My son however, adores the series and whilst he concedes the newer titles were not as good he still really enjoyed them and loves the franchise overall.

Tim, I agree that Halo is their biggest franchise, but it has seen diminishing returns because, to be frank, I feel Xbox relied on it too much and people started to move on. Of course, the new game is still going to be attractive for millions of Halo fans but I just don't think it will lure in millions of 'new gamers'.
If you listen to a lot of people who moved over to PlayStation from Xbox, it was precisely because they felt Xbox relied to heavily on the likes...
I am not a particularly big fan of the Halo games (apart from the music which I think is incredible), but I hope the game delivers for the fans, I just don't see MS dropping the ball where Halo is concerned, so I reckon Halo fans are in for a treat.
Pretty easy to have no regrets when it's someone else's money that you are spunking up the wall.
What a stupid comment Jairusmonillas, last time I checked, millions bought and played Bloodborne, Mario Odyssey, Zelda Breath of the Wild, Resident Evil, Monster Hunter, Persona Royal, Metal Gear 5, Tekken 7, Street Fighter, Sekiro, Animal Crossing...the list goes on and on.
Each to their own I guess duder, luckily, Sony produce plenty of options so you are always sure to find something to like 👍

I own all of these games and have enjoyed them all immensely. Ghost of Tsushima is blowing my socks off at the moment but, if forced to choose my favourite PS4 exclusive, I would still have to pick Bloodborne, I absolutely adore that game.
I am amazed at how good this world is to explore, it does remind me of design choices made in Breath of the Wild insofar as there are no markers for a particular location and you just notice a point of interest while playing, a tree that seems to stand out, a hut in the middle of a forest, and it encourages you to go and explore to find out what's going on.
I am smitten to be honest, the gameplay is super rewarding and the music is sublime not to mention how atmospheric...
I am very interested to see what they have up their sleeves because if I sit through this show and only see Halo, Forza, Gears or Fable, I am not going to be convinced to buy Xbox. I expect to see brand new IP, they have done next to nothing for 10 years in respect of interesting, high quality, new AAA experiences.

I would be curious to see what the review would have looked like had the developers originated from Japan, so that accusations of cultural vandalism would not apply.
It is exceeding rare indeed that any media you care to name doesn't make concessions to make for better gameplay, or a more interesting story or for pacing reasons etc.

I think the price didn't help, but the console still outsold 360 in the world wide market despite the price, but people are too quick to forget that a Bluray player was more expensive that PS3 and PS3 came with a Bluray drive, Sony were losing around 200 dollars per unit, consumers were getting a bargain despite the perceived high price.
It's fair to recognise that multiplatform games ran worse for the first year or two, but those differences became negligible after that. Again, it is also true that market share is unequivocally a metric which is favourable to MS however, you still need to analyse what allowed for that to happen.
Having 18 months without any competition and, broadly speaking, a very America centric, pro Xbox games media definitely played pivital roles in MS's success early on.
Pretty sure I saw stats that showed that worldwide, PS3 outsold 360 every month that it was on the market. I also recall getting a bluray player, built in WiFi, easy to switch out hard drives, compatibility with portable drives etc. MS charged for each of these pieces of additional hardware.
As throne correctly points out, the title is very misleading. If the sentiments of the title had been representative of the actual quote, then I think it would have been a little disrespectful of PlayStation and its community, as it happens, its yet another case of a clickbait title.
