@Vasto Like how Sony focused on high quality AAA single player titles, so Spencer did the opposite and went on the record to state that 'single player games aren't relevant anymore'. Is that what you are referencing?
I'll be fascinated to see how you feel at the end, I personally couldn't believe how effectively ND played with my emotions and by the time the end credits rolled around, I felt truly satisfied by the story arc. Hope you enjoy it squire.
Utter, utter bullshit..... The portrayal of the characters in ND games are fully fleshed out and believable, their sexuality is not really referenced that much and is generally handled quite delicately. I guarantee people like you banging this drum are more than happy to try and fuck everything in other RPG's like Mass Effect where a few dialog options will get you into that position (really realistic, that) , you are simply a bigot, just own it.
To suggest the Ballad o...
I am missing which part of this game, which I competed a few days ago, deals with social justice issues. I would say Druckman has hit another home run and so as a 'fan' I feel pretty far from being 'insulted'. I also was utterly captivated by the story, I was amazed by how well ND played with my emotions. I was outraged and gutted by the early plot events and was hell bent on wanting revenge, only to have these emotions challenged when I got to know the motivations and pers...
What I see in many comment sections and on Twitter is a hate of Naughty Dog and especially Neil Druckman based on nothing more that his willingness to have a diverse range of characters. Honestly, the amount of backlash over things like Nadine being able to kick Drake's arse in Uncharted 4 was insane to see, accusations of pandering by including strong female characters were all over the place.
Then there is the trailer for Last of Us 2 where Ellie kissed Dina, the amo...
Ahhhh, cool... Incidentally, what was your role at Naughty Dog at the time had this first hand experience of the goings on behind the scenes?
Sam, just remember, for every gobshite on N4G hating on the game, there are tens of thousands playing and loving the game.
The amount of guilt I felt over the killing of enemy dogs was insane, this game really makes an impact on every level.
Agreed Sushi, I finished it last night and cannot wait to play it again (have to let my son play it before i get another platinum runthrough).
I simply cannot believe how good the story is, the amount of times I was sat there slack jawed, at what was unfolding was telling of how invested I became.
I feel sorry for those who had some of it spoiled, but even then, regardless of whatever was in the spoiler (I avoided all articles once I knew spoilers were in...
CDBiggen, it is probably the biggest game release this year, why wouldn't there be a lot of coverage if in on a videogame aggregate site?
You only need to look at pricing structure on the console digital stores to see how publishers behave. If you are lucky, you will pick up a legitimate bargain 2 years after release, but it is always the case that I can buy a physical edition of a game cheaper than I can a digital edition. I paid £40.85 for Last of Us 2, that game will be full RRP on the store for at least another 12 months, its the same with MS and its certainly the same with the 3rd party publishers.
That article was actually a very good read. My feeling do tally with this article insofar as, I consider my day 1 purchase of a console through the lense of 'value', even when I picked up my PS3, whilst the 600 quid was a wedge of cash, I knew that I would get thousands upon thousands of hours of quality entertainment for my money.
I would prefer a cheaper price tag of course, but if the rumours of £500 is accurate, I will consider that to be a no brainer.
I have a legally blind pal and he beats me at pool regularly and his wife is completely blind but runs in marathons, they are both truly inspirational to me. They live really full, ordinary lives and never let their eyes eight hold them back.
I find it hard to look past The Last of Us on PS4, it was a fantastic remaster of my favourite game of all time so I simply adored it. A game that runs it damn close though, is Odinsphere which is flipping brilliant on PS4.
There have been some seriously great remasters on PS4 now I think about it, I loved the Bioshock collection, the DarkSouls remaster was great, The Spyro and Crash remakes were brilliant, Dragons Crown Pro, Gravity Rush and Dishonoured. Some fab remast...
Yup, that was a fantastic treatment of the original, such a beautiful game.
Have a week's leave planned, bit of DIY in the day, lots of TLoU2 in the evenings, cannot bloody wait for this game.
Exactly what I was thinking...... And people are far to quick to rewrite history regarding his senior role in the Xbox division and pin everything solely on Mattrick.
MS ain't changed at all as far as I am concerned, still all talk and no trousers, they still haven't demonstrated a drive to deliver 1st party games to rival Sony and Nintendo. They bought a couple of studios who were already predominantly making games for MS. If, in 5 years they have all there devs ...
Yeah I suppose you are right Xack, who doest want to see an image showing the magnificence of Galahad's beard 😂
Fingers crossed for a sequel on day mate. Happy gaming 👍
The key consideration for me is that IF they are working on a sequel, they would not want to tip their hand by including footage of an older game in some relatively insignificant sizzle reel, surely they would say nothing until they were ready with a big reveal?
Personally, I would love a sequel as I simply adored the universe and lore they built around the game. I bought it upon release and had a fab time on the way to getting my platinum trophy, I can see it has shortcom...
Spot on post, sums up much of my feelings. Thanks for sharing!
