Personally I feel a little sad about this, I always appreciated the more creative titles from Japan Studio.
The Puppeteer was one of my favourite titles on PS3 for example, how about Patapon or Loco Roco? Gravity Rush was a fantastic series and then there was the fantastic Tokyo Jungle. I often saw Japan Studio's involvement as a seal of quality.
Yup, extremely keen for more info and gameplay for this title.
No doubt that Nintendo do exploit their fans love of their core franchises but I have to say, I bought far more games for my Switch than I ever did for my XB1 and I have been happy to do so as the games themselves are generally of a really high quality.
Do I find it frustrating that they do exploit the popularity of their titles, yes I do, particularly their unwillingness to drop the prices of their games - how can MarioKart 8 still cost as much as it does? But I also appr...
Give Hades a shout chum, one of the best games you will ever play!
Really sad to see, Codemasters have such a long proud history, a British developer whose games I bought on my Commodore 64 as a kid. I really hope they survive this but EA have a pretty lousy track record when it comes to studio management.
The closing of Pandemic studios still frustrates today. I thought they were a really good studio and I loved their last game The Saboteur.
Hmmm, what about the fiction of rigged elections, that certainly seemed to promote to my mind.
Absolutely spot on Porkchop.
Already earned the platinum trophy on PS4 and am really keen to replay it again, but I have decided to wait until the sequel is near to release to refresh me on the story etc before jumping into ragnarrok.
To be fair, I think there are plenty who respect and appreciate the talent behind the Ori games, they are fantastic titles and getting them to run on Switch in the manner they do is some sort of wizardry.
Perhaps he should think before he speaks though, because there are hundreds of people who worked on Cyberpunk and No Man's Sky who are equally as talented as the Ori studio and who are just as passionate about their work as he is
Absolute hidden gem, such an under appreciated game back in the day.
I agree with the sentiment here squire, but I do think you are grossly underselling how expertly crafted the Ori games are.
I get that, but I played better controlling stuff on other consoles in my view.
So excited to replay this game, I adored it on WiiU.
I hate to be a Debbie downer, but I never understood the affection for this game. I was gaming on PC back then and remember hearing all the hype for Goldeneye.
I eventually tried it at a pals house several months later and couldn't believe I was playing the same game I'd heard everyone raving about. I thought it controlled like absolute dogshit, even for the time and as others have said, time has not been kind to the game.
I am so excited by what I have seen of this game. I love the variety this kind of title brings to the PS5 library.
MS need to deliver some absolute bangers and I am sorry to say, this really doesn't appear capable of reaching that standard. This looks like a potentially okay game but it isn't going to move the needle as far as quality exclusives go., particularly as it is clearly only a timed exclusive.
I always got the impression this game had a lot of promise and they don't seem to have rushed it so I feel really optimistic about this title. I don't know that I have experienced a glut of low quality games in general, Cyberpunk was clearly a low point, but otherwise the last year has been fab for games.
Tsushima and TLoU2, Hades, Hitman 3, Ori and stacks of other games have all been of a fantastic quality I think.
Hmmm, I am not so sure personally buddy, when I think about how immersive Alien or Resident Evil 7 were, I think so much of that was borne out of the first person perspective. Having set cameras simply limits a gamers view of the environments, leading to scares because you cannot see what's off the screen, this seems less about atmosphere to me.
Hope you enjoy the game though chief, sound right up your street.
@Sciurus
Nintendo aren't 'getting away with it' either, plenty of negative press surrounding these kinds of moves.
I happen to think Sony and MS would get the same response from consumers too. Let's imagine Sony announced the next God of War would only be on sale for 1 year before becoming unavailable. There would be the same frustration expressed in media and from consumers, but would it affect sales of the game, would people refuse to buy it?; A...
