I loved Molyneux' work years ago whith the likes of Populous and Powermonger but in my opinion he has consistenly underdelivered on every project over the last 10 years or so.

I feel like the more well known he became, the more he beleived his own hype and while he would come up with the odd cool idea he never had the skill to implement those cool ideas, his games over the last generation or two have always been flawed to some degree.

While some insist th...

I am refering to performance by way of exclusive games over the last 3 or 4 years chief, not to mention the year or so of spin and lies around the XB1 announcement and release.

I am not "a hater", I am a consumer with a memory.

Not too long ago he tried to convince me that Tomb Raider was an exclusive, a move that cheesed me right off incidently. Only after concerted pressure did he tell the truth and admit they had paid for a timed exclusive.

MS are trying to win over the consumer but I am not blind nor stupid. Perhaps naively, how people and companies behave matters to me, its why I wont use Amazon, Starbucks and seve...

He is getting a free pass as far as I am concerned.

He was as much to blame as Matrick and all the other execs at MS for their piss poor performance over the last 4 years or so. He was right there in the thick of it like the rest of them.

While things have improved recently that is out of necessity more than anything else. He has a long way to go before he should be declared the saviour of XB1, that title goes as much to Sony, they are just as responsible f...

I am thinking I might go into the games journalism business, seems you can make up any old story without a shred of evidence and people will lap it up......easy money, no?

I was around 20 when the first 2097 hit and it blew me away, I was never really a clubber but remember lots of my friends who were into the rave/dance scene got into gaming because of this game.

It transcended games with its music and fantastic art/design and drew lots of people to Playstation.

I bought every version of Wipeout and never played a bad game, I loved them all however, if they werent making money then I guess this was always going to happen.........

See my comment above, why do you need to mention Sony in your comment? This is the kind of sentiment that these self professed journalist want to foster.

Gamers of any kind would agree that this article is pathetic and that free games ARE ALWAYS A COOL THING!

Calm down a little, not everything is a Sony conspiracy for Pete's sake

I want to know why you feel the need to bring Sony up in the comments section of a poorly written and argued opinion piece about MS?

There is absolutely no need to mention Sony in this, neither company is obliged to give games away. The ONLY correct response to this article is to praise MS for giving away a free game, and a great one at that, then to vote down the article/site.

Quite how anyone can complain about getting Limbo for free is beyond me!

How the dickens can people trust a word that comes out of that guys mouth?

It never fails to amaze me how short a memory people have when it come to some of these MS execs, if Greenburg told me what day of the week it was I wouldnt beleive him.

I know one or two friends/relatives who have xbox but most of my friends stayed with or switched to Playstation this time around.

More telling is that my teenage son switched to Playstation with a lot of his schoolmates, although he is gagging for the new Halo Collection.

The greatest thing about being a gamer is that there is always something around the corner to be excited about.

Don't know how I will fit all the games I want to play in, but it's going to be awesome trying :)

I rarely buy fighting games as I dont tend to have visitors to fight against.

I did get the last Mortal Kombat through PS+ and had a really good time with it so I am quite excited by the chance to try Injustice. The other offerings look really decent too.

I love PS+, Binding of Isaac, Resogun and Spelunky being high on my playlist still.

Lol Thom, fair enough squire :)

Also, I would check the small print regarding Houses wife, I can't imagine she will be "down for maintenance" in the sense some might wish for :D

As Bishop pointed out, I never claimed the ps4 was a supirior version.

All I know is that my own experience was perfectly acceptable. The game was the best looking creed game to date and it also ran as well any of the previous titles.

In fact I decided to wrap up the last two sequences last night and was honestly blown away by the spectacle of sequence 11, I have never seen so many npcs on a screen before and it really did build a great atmosphere.

@Spamfritter

Perhaps you should play it yourself and make your own mind up like I did. In my opinion "most sites" are not to be trusted.

I can categorically state that I have played all of the AC games and this one is by far the best looking and performing one I have played.

Yes buddy, you are right.

Pure speculation here, but say for example there are a thousand bugs identified during the testing phase of a project.

If you were to fix everything before going live the software would never release, its about prioritising the bugs and determining what are game breaking and what you can live with.

The thing you cannot prepare for is what happens when instead of being tested by a team of 20 testers the software is su...

Cool buddy, I am pleased to hear other gamers being positive about the game and happy about others enjoying the game.

I love the side effect of these titles too, which is to make me want to learn a little more about that particular period of history.

Happy gaming duder :)

Perhaps the 'do better yourself' comment is a bit broad in scope and you do raise a very good arguement in that respect its an arguement I am happy to concede.

All the same, I feel very frustrated when I see these huge witch hunts and sweeping statements with little understanding or appreciation about what is involved in these huge projects.

Its no accident that as games have become more and more complex that more patches and so on are required. I ...

Your comment is somewhat confusing squire, I imagine you have some statistical evidence to back up your 'ten fold' claims? didnt think so.

As a gamer with over 30 years experience and as someone who played on PC for 20 years or so I can only state that from my fairly extensive experience buggy games are really nothing new. There have been plenty of titles over the years that were literally unplayable, as in they wouldn't even load let alone that they ran poorly...
