I would agree having really enjoyed gaining the platinum trophy.
The problem is, scores of 7 or 8 dont draw in the punters, a review score must slam a game harshly or praise it to high heaven to ensure it gets the hits that all websites crave.
Its only 10 hours of gametime to boot, how anyone can get their knickers in a knot over this is beyond me.
The problem is that none of the suggestions sound any good phonetically, in fact, the only one that does trip off the tongue when spoken is Xbone.
But just try saying "XBO" or "XB1" in conversation, while they read okay the are not quick or catchy when spoken, I think the only real option might be simply "XBOX".
I think what is interesting here is the fact that MS really dropped the ball when it comes to naming the console. A good brand should not create such divisions and confusion.
It is not a good thing that there is no concensus, even among the consoles fanbase. You really have to wonder at the desision making process behind the branding, how can you get it so wrong?
Within minutes of the console being unveiled the moniker 'Xbone' was coined, it is a w...
I have heard all this kind of spin before from MS and anyone who does business with them. There is no doubt that the game will appear on PS4 6 months to year down the line.
I personally am happy to admit that it leaves a sour taste in my mouth, the last game was well supported by PlayStation fans and I bought it on PS3 and on PS4 so saw it as something of a slap in the face when the publisher did a deal.
I am not so upset that I will claim I will not support...
I can't quite work out how people can not enjoy the story, when I compare it to other shooters it surpasses them with ease.
Without dropping spoilers I will just say that a scene where they elaborate on the succession of knights through the ages was very a very clever idea and there were plenty of details like this that fleshed out the universe really well.
While people complain about this story they give the likes of Gears, COD or a hundred other shoot...
Perhaps you should read the article instead of just the headline.
By the time I Platinum the game I would think I will get 20 hours entertainment out of the game. For me, it will be 20 hours of fantastic entertainment and so I dont really have any complaints.
I never ever trust reviewers any longer, I would have missed out on the likes of Alien, Knack and DriveClub recently and for me each of these titles were definitely worth playing.
So I assume you are judging it even though you havent played it?
I finished it last night after around 8 hours and I was gripped the whole time, I loved the story, characters and fantastic universe in which it was set.
I am playing through again now to get all the collectables and get my platinum.
Value for money is such a difficult thing to address in video games because every game is different, there is no median or benchmark to compare to. A DODA2 or Warcraft player might argue that even a 20 hour campaign is a poor pr...
I was really worried when the reviews started hitting because of their generally negative leanings.
I am at chapter XIII and so far I have loved it. I am completely sucked in by the story, amazed by the presentation and excitec by the shootouts.
While I can see that the walking speed in some sections would annoy some I am a bit weird because that is how I play most of my 3rd person games. Its almost like roleplaying to me, when I played TLoU for example, I ...
I feel sad because the kid seemed like a nice, well adjusted individual from the very little we can glean from the video.
He wasnt talking trash, he seemed really pleasant in his interactions so I dont see any justification in doing what was done.
Just some guy being a complete scum bag.
As a trademark examiner in the UK I can tell you that for the most part you are spot on.
The most important consideration faced by any examiner is in assessing the distinctive character in any application before them.
In this instance, the word Fallout in respect of software would be viewed as being very distinctive. It doesnt describe a characteristic of the goods in any way and is not a term often used in respect of software.
With this in ...
This is a classic case of a big business bullying the little guy.
Bethesda will likely have protection only in respect of the word Fallout, Fallout 2 and Fallout 3.
By opposing the mark Fortress Fallout, they must prove that the average consumer would be confused by this earlier markor that the average consumer might think Fortress Fallout originates from a company linked to the holder of the earlier Fallout marks.
This can be tough to do w...
Well that dev team are working on something and with their pedigree I personally beleive it will be worth the wait.
There could be a very simple explanation for this. Sony could have an international registration designating the US and so did not need to renew the US registration domestically.
They may have been delayed in renewing the registration, in which case they have up to a year to request a late renewal.
The UK registry (where I am employed) still shows the mark is registered and isnt due for renewal until 2019, and this is an EU wide registration. I suspect ever...
Playstation 1 made gaming cool and started the movement into mainstream acceptability. On top of this every generation of PlayStation delivered countless amazing games.
I personally disregard any claim that the PS3 had no games, this was nothing more than a lie propogated by MS and its less enlightened fans. Like every generation the first year is relatively slow but once it hit its stride the PS3 delivered incredible exclusive after incredible exclusive.
A...
I am pretty sure when I played Populous on my Amiga it had nothing to do with MS, same with Black and White on my PC years ago.
His games have been in a downward spiral since then and particularly since he started believing in his own hype and thinking he is some kind of celebrity. I lost complete respect one he sold out to MS and thd whole Milo business.
I picked up Galaxy 2 recently having just 100% completed Mario 3D World. I adored my time with Mario 3D but try as I might I just cannot get on with the controls for Galaxy 2, its not the resolution that I would like to see improved, its the controls.
I really hope that all the people expressing their interest in Bloodborne follow through and make this the most successfull "souls" game to date, its no more than From Software deserve.
I cannot wait for Bloodborne and think I will add Battlefield and Helldivers to the list.
