Unfortunately many gamers don’t think to care about this. They’re becoming very simplistic. I’m with you brotha

Don’t let these fools on here get to you man. Nowhere do you even imply that it needs to be a platformer. They should shake up the formula and build heavily off Jak 3 with way more depth to the gameplay loop while adding way more to do and equipment to find/upgrade. This could be a huge franchise for them and could compete with Beyond Good & Evil 2 if done right

Lol, apparently you have a surface level comprehension of communicating over the internet. In no way shape or form does this affect me. My comment was an opinion I chose to output online to showcase how I’d approach the design process.

A better question might be how old are you

There should be no header. But to be honest white on blue (case) is far better than the ugly ps4 design of blue on blue

The case needs to be changed back to the ps3 design. Color wise it can understandably stay blue (it’s representative of their brand so good luck trying to get them to change that this gen), but they should be more creative and make it to where there is translucency at the top of the case with the ps5 logo placed up there, very similar to the ps3 case design

Why do people keep trying to put Horizon in the same conversation as Fable. They are completely different genres. Forbes also knew better than to even mention the words “Horizon” and “rpg” in the same article. Which is why they didn’t.

Microsoft has no “new” open world story driven action adventure titles, which is what the article was eluding to. How they milk their franchises and don’t let them rest when they may need to for a bit. The writer was stating that msft should ...

Yea I worded that completely wrong. Exactly what you mentioned about the clear non-colored plastic is where the design is better. It makes the case appear more sleek and less like they’re trying to push their “blue” branding on the top front and top side of each game’s cover art

Are you serious? Dude, Fallout New Vegas is one of the best rpg’s ever made. Without question in the top 10 at the very least

Mistake to not make the cases more compact and efficient like the ps3 ones. Ps4 cases are bulky and hollow (similar to ps2 & xbox cases). The ps3 cases were perfect when it comes to size.

As for the design of the box art and branding, The ps5 ones look good. Just make the cases smaller.

Maybe because some people buy more than 10+ games a year. It adds up. Also the fact that they make a significant % jump in profit when selling collector’s editions, which should more than make up for a $60 standard edition. Just because game development has increased due to devs wanting to take advantage of the “latest & greatest” tech doesn’t mean that they were under charging at $60 a game when development was cheaper. If anything, with where game development costs are now $60 seems lik...

I believe they also had to rework the overall experience and length because the game is so rich in customization and me mechanical freedom that the original runtime they mentioned in 2017 (12 hours) would have somewhat been put to waste from all the effort they put into the gameplay loop. With all that said adding more content and things for the player to do has been more than likely what’s been taking so long. Their original release date was for 2018 and in 2017 they seemed very confident on...

How bout on lack of keeping up with their competitors technologically. Including but not limited to, UI being unintuitive, separate apps for the same software not being linked modernly (pokemon home on switch vs ios), online chat function needing a separate app (LOL), and no achievement system for their games (which isn’t an “incentive” to play as one of their execs unprofessionally mentioned). When you have three stores that you shop at that all sell the same thing for the same price, you’re...

I disagree with you in some ways and agree in others. You’re correct in that with the quality and talent of that developer, they need to move on and tackle projects where if it’s going to take them 5 years to make, it needs to be MASSIVE (not necessarily open world, but massive in scope and content). Their talents are being wasted focusing on the wrong things. I’d far rather have more fun things to do in a game rather than their team spending months making pebbles on the ground look good whic...

Not all rpg’s require excessive menu time. A lot of players enjoy a bit of strategy & prep going into certain encounters, versus the same old shooting galleries we’ve been getting for 20+ years where you either button mash or hold down a trigger

Were you thinking of a real-time strategy rpg?
