Forget that, I want to see some legacy titles make the jump to Vita. Where the hell is Final Fantasy Crisis Core? Or Suikoden II? You want to sell Vitas, convince Square-Enix and Konami to port them.
"Sudden rise"? Three games were referenced, of which Heavy Rain was released four years ago. Three games in four years is a "sudden rise"?
I would think that the interactive movie genre was more prevalent in the 90's when there were games like Journeyman Project, Under a Killing Moon, Myst, or 7th Guest. Adventure games were everywhere back then.
His disclaimer at the beginning of the review is telling, speaking at length about the requirements of the Sony embargo. It sounds as though he took it personally, which may have influenced his opinion.

Alternately, you could see the surprising difference in the new console's performance as an issue that consumers need to be aware of. The truth of the matter is that these articles are not in any way new, they just haven't been as common since the early release of the PS3 when comparisons between Xbox 360 and PS3 multi-platform games were inevitable.
Wow. Neither of those were remotely close to the same thing. You're actually comparing the Virtual Boy's red and black LED pseudo-3D system to a full immersion head tracking VR environment like either Morpheus or Oculus Rift. And then turning around and praising Illumiroom? Seriously?

@higgins78: I agreed with you about the first three MGS games, but you couldn't possibly be more wrong about MGS4. Mechanically it had the best controls of the entire series, and tied together a couple dozen plot threads into a satisfying conclusion. It even made sense of that "Liquid Snake takes over Revolver Ocelot's mind" BS in a (within the bounds of Metal Gear logic) believable way. You couldn't have asked for a better conclusion to the series.

Trolling should at least be internally consistent.
I can understand why price should be mentioned, but it should not affect the review score. The final score should reflect the quality of the game, graphics, gameplay, music, etc. The customer should be able to read the review and decide for themselves if the game is worth the price, voting with their dollars. Does a game's rating go up if it goes on sale later?
Prices go down eventually. Reviews stay the same.
@wonderfulmonkeyman: Obviously the company believes that they stand to make more money by licensing the software to Playstation Plus than they would through straight sales, otherwise they'd never have taken the deal. Companies are under no obligation to participate, and more than one has jumped at the chance to breathe new life into a title that they feel hadn't gained the attention it deserved at the cash register.

If you're talking about Playstation Plus and let's be frank, you are, Sony doesn't get the games from the developers for free. The developer is paid, and agrees to the deal before anything appears on PS+. So everything you just said is inapplicable.
It's not like the Xbox One is backwards compatible either. Sony was the *first* to provide backwards compatibility on a console with the release of the PS2. People have just gotten used to a feature that didn't exist not that long ago.
Don't forget the original Metal Gear games which takes place between Phantom Pain and Metal Gear Solid.
Considering the mission has you rescuing Paz and Chico, it takes place directly after Peace Walker, and you are most assuredly playing as Naked Snake, aka Big Boss.
What rumors? Look at the uncompressed videos and pictures, and there's no sign of a downgrade.
So which is it? Does resolution matter or not? From your tone, it seems that it really does matter when it pertains to a PS4 title, but doesn't if it is an Xbox One title. That seems somewhat hypocritical.

Blitzball was awesome. One of the better Final Fantasy mini-games in the entire series.
