@kneon: I guess that's true, I hadn't thought of that. Personally it was always for the online gaming, but for a more casual user who did only use Netflix or a similar service that isn't behind a paywall anymore, I suppose that would be a consideration.
Still, vacation hold would be sweet.
@TheHybrid: Money is money. I had to travel for work for seven weeks, and couldn't take my systems with me. That's lost time for me. Not everyone is so ...
I'd rather have the ability to put it on hold while on vacation.
I mean, how many people are going to take advantage of the ability to cancel completely? Suddenly, they want to stop playing online? Why not instead give you an online setting to put it on hold so you don't lose time, particularly now that the Games with Gold offerings are going to be tied to your subscription.
Funny, I can disagree with you and reply because I know that it isn't true.
They wouldn't be changing course so radically, at such a great cost, if it weren't motivated by money.
Or both. Both is good.
You say "most". Is there a multiplatform game that runs better on Xbox One?
@Deadpool101: There's a difference between the physical capability to perform an act, and having the backing of all the departments of your multinational organization agree to support a new strategy. He may not have been literally correct, but corporations are like supertankers: they take a lot of time and effort to change direction, and there's a lot of momentum they have to fight.
I haven't seen anyone comment on the Xenogears sequel listed under the Nintendo conference. You want some evidence that this is fake, let's start there.
That's kind of ridiculous. These decisions aren't made on the spot, and Sony certainly wasn't going into the day with a different strategy than they presented. These are multinational corporations with a board of directors they have to answer to. I'm certain that Sony had 6 hours to celebrate and tweak the language of their presentation for effect, but to perform radical policy shifts takes a lot more time than that.
Going into E3 2013, the reaction to the Xbo...
It's very similar to the gameplay of Heavy Rain or Beyond. Interesting visual style though.
Or possibly someone is expressing a genuine opinion based on his personal tastes.
They did it with Assassin's Creed IV, so I wouldn't be surprised if they achieved 60fps too.
There's nothing wrong with the PS4's color depth. Just look at Infamous Second Son screen shots.
This game is just bland.
They both look pretty amazing. Can't wait to try out the demo.
All it will take to sell me is a new X-Wing simulator game.
Why would Microsoft buy the rights to the IP until they find out whether it's a success or not. Microsoft only bought the rights to Gears of War after there were rumors in November of a PS4 version. They didn't have to lock it up until then. It's not Microsoft being a "nice guy", it's them not spending money until they need to. They'll absolutely back up another truck full of money to Insomniac's door if it turns out that Sunset Overdrive is a success.
I'm assuming sarcasm, if so *agree*.
I thought that UC3 reminded me a lot of what happened with the sequels to the Matrix. Lots of memorable moments and great set pieces, but strung together with just a schizophrenic plot. UC1 was awesome, UC2 was epic, UC3 was... good but could have been better. I have high hopes that they fix UC4, since it's supposed to look awesome.
Not remotely the same thing. Not even a little bit.
Perhaps, but I can see it being more. PS2 didn't have this promising a launch, and back then they didn't have the established first party studios and IPs to push their hardware either. Add to this that gaming is a far bigger industry today than it was fourteen years ago, and it adds up to a promising future.
