they also did borderlands...so have some faith...
Crysis is now just a way for them to show off the new tech in their engine that they sell. With crytech engine licensing...they make up the difference.
Nicely said JMC. Here is the original rumor that I based my comment on and if you check out IBM...they do exist.

The fact that programmers would have to change the way they balance the CPU/GPU usage is very true, but that is a major benefit of a closed hardware system like a console.
its a hard comparison between uncharted and halo...your talking about something realistic in nature to something SiFi based...
i kinda comes down to one thing for most people...they just don't like change. Being an IT Prof...Win 8 for home is great...not that great for enterprise though...
I would say that if the 720 is going to use the rumored 16 core processor...that would be considered "exclusive" tech in the consumer market anyways.
My only slight concern is the media and entertainment focus of the late current gen and next gen consoles creates a lot more overhead for the OS that pushes the console...this could hurt a bit on the performance side of thing due to the fact that a slimmed down, focus OS is one thing that console have always had over y...
I think the frame rate is something that really stands out in the game. The visuals are great and there are some great OMG moments but I think its really the lighting of the game that makes everything really POP. They really nailed the visor hud and the bloom effects are rightfully blinding when they should be.
You have to look at the overall investment you are making. If it is a well made product, I think that $600 bucks for a console is reasonable. I would much rather have something top of the line so in 6 years, its still worth a damn.
if they would have properly named the game Burnout 4 instead of need for speed I think that it could have gotten a proper score. But those scores make sense ya know? Console version obviously is better so it should get a higher score...if you try to emulate another version and fall short..the score should be lower.
Horizons beats it hands down IMO.
serious sam is great for what it is...a co-op party game that everyone can have fun with...not really a comparable genre
they don't need too...there is plenty of time next year. It is interesting to note that the new super computer the USA is using 16 core processors by AMD...wonder if this is a conformation on the reported 16 core CPU that is supposed to be powering the new XBOX.
Lets hope that is not the case. As you said, multi billion dollar game. Activision might be looking at the bottom line only. But most all developers really give a damn what they are making. It's a reflection on them and they take it personally.
I'm not sure I'd want to walk in their shoes having to deal with so much hate all the time. People have gotten to brave hiding behind their keyboards and making threats behind proxies so they stay hidden from the worl...
the console are highly limited in their 3D capabilities due to hardware. The lower resolution in 3D really shows on a big TV. On the PC however, with a good monitor such as the ASUS 27' and a good video card. 3D in 1080P looks amazing. The new overbight features on the ASUS and BenQ monitors fix the darkening problems of other displays and almost completely eliminate the eye strain associated with most 3D setups.
After playing borderlands 2 through in 3D...it just doe...
MW3 might have been more of the same...but at the time, it was kinda what people were asking for. Treyarch has put out one good COD game...remember COD3? Yea me neither...how about World at War? Umm...kinda?
Funny how IW can put out one sub par version of a game and everyone jumps ship. Beyond Activision and their quest for MO MONEY...I think that IW really does give a dang about what they produce and with the changes that went on in the ranks over the past 2 years, maybe w...
you would think...and hope...that infinity is working on a next gen version. Without a new graphics engine and quite a bit of innovation...I think the COD series will make a quick and sudden decline in sales. With the already announced new IP's for next year...i would at least HOPE that they couldn't contend with another "same as it ever was" COD game.
Though lots of people did not like MW3 and enjoy the zombie modes of the BO games, lets not forget that I...
i agree...when MS puts the money down...they normally score. It is amazing what a group of talent can do if they work together. I might be the only one but I wouldn't mind if they would bring back brute force. The game had a lot of promise when it was released even though it did have its share of issues.
not sure if that is a good thing or a bad thing. Crysis 2, though an amazing looking game(especially in 3D) for the PC at least...wasn't an exceptionally fun game. Cool enough yes, but only 7/10 bacon strips for gameplay. Let's hope the good parts of it come over and someone throws in a little fun with it.
just PC...even he WiiU cant do that...
PC does have cloud storage through steam...just an FYI
if you enjoyed the first BL the second you will have a great time with. I would suggest you pick it up. I do agree that it is really hard to do a horror game in the first place much less something so familiar and well known as aliens. It is going to be hard to create that kind of atmosphere and animate the aliens so they are believable.
As technically far as we are...were not as far as we need to be to bring some things to life.
