I have played an though it is free-to-play...it's also a big pay-to-win game also. Though you can probably see most of the game for around 60 bucks worth of IAP but easily spend 200 if you want to see it all.
That would be kinda cool but I would love cross platform and you can still clan across platform as we always have friends who refuse to conform.
But hey sure as hell help in a racing game...the devil is in the details...and that means visual too.
They do have a ways to go for sure...but that is why it is "still in development"
Plus switching to new consoles will probably help them justify extending the development time out a bit.
Great point on the install base and you are correct that there has to be a ceiling on the price of games.
There have been a lot of attempts at different marketing strategies and ways to make a bigger dime on games as is true with any industry.
It has been painful to go through but at least over the last several years we have gone through a lot of models that have failed horribly and some that are on the way out.
I think the crowd funded/founder mode...
I know "bad" reviews can most of the time come across as trolling but ya know...not everything appeals to everyone. There are people who would score all Half Life games low because they don't like si-fi, the mechanics, or FPS's in general. Reviews are opinions just put down on paper.
Hell, I have two or three games that are some of my favorite of all time but got pretty bad reviews ( PC version of Advent Rising was one of my favs of all time for the story ,...
Why would they lower their price points? You actually pay way less today than you did 15 years ago if you think about it.
NES games were 39.99 and 49.99 and you got like a 2-3 hour game. Production costs were pennies compared to todays games but look what you got.
The expectation in some genres of games is to keep pushing the limits. Yes some companies go overboard with "Hollywood talent" but even some voice actors are becoming obsolete with the n...
I thought the gameplay and the story really held up well. I'm excited to take another adventure with Lara in the future.
The last 15 minutes felt a touch rushed but maybe that is just me.
If you had a chance to play it on he PC in 3D then you were for sure treated to one of the best experiences in gaming...well...ever. I highly recommend this if you have it available to you.
single player only...thank you for that...please prove to the world that single player games still have a place in this mad mad world
that is the funniest thing I have heard all week....thanks...I needed that = )
People just like to complain about what they are already doing. Steam, always on, your cable box, always on, and fridge, always on( hehe). If it is as integrated with your TV as some rumors suggest then that part WILL probably be always on. But if you own a game and put the disk in it will probably play just like the original XBOX. Hell, even that is a different beast online and offline...but when I push the power button...it signs right into my account and "online" which makes it...
The ending was great...i agree with him
People don't disagree to the losing of jobs. It is how it is worded. "at EA's hand" is kind of adding a little something to create a reaction. It sucks to lose your job, but that is life and business. You want a better EA? Stop picking at every move they make, this might be one step in the right direction for the company.
@CHCOLATESNW
ya know...does it make you feel better to name call? IF you have a correct answer then answer...no reason to be a jerk. Funny how people with knowledge have to try and make others feel small. Lighten up my friend or your credible information just gets discredited by a poor attitude.
read the whole article...in talking about the "pure" mode and playing through the game without killing anyone but your target, I would say that IS a thinking mans game. Jeez
Man people love to complain! Just think about it. They bid for the license so they are of obviously excited about it. They have some money to give it a good run unlike a few of the other studios that were bidding on it. They already have good graphic artists that use that cartoonish look ala Borderlands. Plus they will hire and experienced RTS team and most likely get a few of the original guys to be consultants on the project.
Bottom line...we will get another Homeworld...
Well, better or not...MOST games are still made with the mid grade machine in mind with x86. Having proprietary hardware that is the same across the board is a huge advantage. I think that is something that they CAN get better at over time. That is my opinion at least...I'm not a back end developer.
I think the PS4 will be a great machine. But in 3 years...the PC will be again way ahead of the consoles. I think this next gen will be a WIN/WIN for console and PC gamers.
Nice post PC...It's nice to see some level headed positive feedback. You made good points which are well presented. I agree with you 100%. Keep the good vibes coming bro.
GAME OVER MAN!!!! GAME OVER!!!
Exactly...yes...co-op, customization is more than visual...weapons, suit upgrade = money. Are there things that you cannot get playing for free? yes....can you get a lot of stuff free...yes. But the high level stuff without the purchased suits your kinda dead in the water...its not just visual upgrades or XP boosts.
Obviously I have played the game and enjoyed it but for higher end-game stuff you will be spending money...or 1000's of hours. Slower progress due to f2p i...
