I doubt that Sony has shown everything, but I don't think there will be too much more. There are still Gamescon and TGS left in 2010 so I suspect they will capitalize on the already released news and add some surprises. To expect more would be asking a lot.

As for MS, you can take the silence in two ways:

A) They finally learned how to keep a secret. I'm just not sure about that. MS hasn't been the best at preventing leaks before a big show so t...

Not for nothing, but you can't say that about MS based on what? Because MS hasn't said anything? Shocking that they would want to keep things secret. And I am not saying whether you will ultimately be wrong or not, but to simply make that statement based on nothing at all is ignorant.

Don't know about second best, but Alan Wake was definitely a wonderful experience. MS really screwed up not giving the game the backing it should have received in marketing dollars.

Considering you posted the article you have vested interest in not looking like an idiot, I'm aware of that. However there is nothing in this article that smacks of reality. It's not based on anything but some fictitious unnamed source that tries to site IGN's plans for TeamXbox as rational. Just because he says they are doing it because they are following suit with MS doesn't make it even remotely true. Calling it a rumor is being too kind, I'd be more inclined to call it...

The article was completely stupid, and gave information about the TeamXbox site as its major proof that the Xbox brand was being dropped. Thats what mcgrawgamer was referring to. In addition, he uses the fact that teamxbox has the powered by IGN tag on it, well so does Gamespy, so what? I love these articles form some unnamed source, pretty much anyone can say anything and claim it came from an "unnamed source." Kudos. Also, I'd like a link to the boxart that doesn't have th...

But the lower price couldn't come without the redesign, because thats what allowed them to lower the price. You couldn't get one without the other.

5755d ago 6 agree7 disagreeView comment

Except that the boxart refresh for Sony was part and parcel of the rebranding of the system. They made the art on the boxes consistent with the branding on the new slims. I'm of the opinion that this does have to do with a slim/natal equipped system. Assuming MS is intent on selling natal with all new systems, which frankly is the best way to ensure the adoption of the thing, it makes sense to differentiate the system branding.

Slimming the system down and adding natal j...

As a person who enjoys King novels and psychological thrillers, I thought Alan Wake was a fantastic game. Was it perfect? No, but no game is. But in terms of story, keeping me glued to my controller, and willing me to the end, Alan Wake was just as successful as GoW3 which everyone seems to want to blindly award the GoY award. Even better was that to this day after finishing it, I can still think back to the events of the game and try to unravel the mystery. Sorry but GoW3 doesn't give me...

So because these people believe that Alan Wake is a GoY contender for them that means they are fanboys. And your proof to that is metacritic scores? That's pretty ignorant. I've played and finished both games. GoW3 is without a doubt a technical masterpiece. It's gorgeous, loud, and exciting in every sense and i enjoyed every minute of it. In this sense it is akin to the traditional summer blockbuster. Despite those things, there is no other mystery to the game. Once its finished ...

So JaeKuro, you don't at all plan on adjusting your article to remove the line that MS has announced the price of Natal? If not you definitely have some news that no one else has as of yet because to date I don't recall MS releasing any statement talking about pricing. I suspect if you know from MS themselves what the pricing is, can you also tell us whats included with the camera, because that's not out their either. And let me make it clear that I have no idea whether this price...

Epic Fail = Failure to integrate the tech to ensure a broader adoption of the add-on
Potentially Transformative = The technology itself

The two comments have nothing to do with one another. Is that difficult to figure out?

What does that have to do with the notion that he backtracked his comments? He did no such thing. Like you said, the failure has to do with the attach rate of the add-on. Where in the new article did he change his sentiment with respect to that? He didn't. His need to come back and clarify things is because of the headline nature of game coverage. I'm sure plenty of people didn't even bother to read the article on NowGamer. They simply say MS Exec says Natal will fail and left it ...

Reading both articles, how exactly did he backtrack his statement? In the first article he mentioned that unless MS were to integrate the hardware of Natal into the 360 so that a greater portion of the 360 base had the tech, that it was likely to fail. He never backed off that statement. His need to clarify was due to the title of the article. If in passing, you simply look at the title, then you have no context to go along with the statement and are therefore left with the idea that this per...

MS dropped the Original Xbox for very specific reasons.

1. They were never going to catch the PS2. It was way too entrenched to even come close to denting.
2. MS did not own the design of the Xbox. Everything that comprised the OG Xbox were essentially off the shelf computer parts. They didn't own the CPU or GPU design which essentially meant they needed to continue to pay Nvidia and Intel to provide the processors that they needed for the system.

Not if you consider a slim based bundle. The whole purpose of a slim console would be to lower price, and those price drops usually kick about 50 dollars or so off the cost of a console. So you take a console drop of 50 dollars and add a peripheral priced at around 50-80 dollars and there's your bundle. That's just as likely if more so than the notion that MS wants to make this huge push with a peripheral that costs as much as a console on its own. Sorry I don't buy that.

No one figures that this is an arcade/natal bundle? Natal is being positioned as a new Mass Market peripheral for the 360. 200 bills is not a mass market price. I'm pretty certain this ends up being a bundled sku.

Saw this game back at a previous E3 before it was announced for the 360 when Remedy was showing off the day/night cycle technology for the game. I have to say it has shaped up beautifully. Visually this game looks fantastic and the trailer backs that, but outside of the visuals, this game is going to live and die by its story and gameplay. I just hope that they end up wonderful since I have this thing on preorder.

get the impression that Geoff was getting agitated towards the end of the interview? He just seemed to me like he wanted to leave. Oh and hiphop......it will fall on deaf ears I am sure, but if you are going to ask someone a question, shut the hell up so they can answer. Quit talking over the guy. Just shows that you are still a long way from being a professional. In any event, there was nothing of any real substance in that interview.

So let me get this straight. You, HHG, are the only game site on the planet that didn't see the difference between these two versions of the game? It's not one site, not even two sites. It's literally every single site that has reviewed the two versions of the game. Every single one.

You know man it's evident you are a fan of the PS3. No big deal. But you lose all credibility with this type of article. What rationale is there for every other game site on the planet to have an op...

Aside from making yourself look really uninformed with your discussion about 120hz televisions translating into 120 fps, you also seem to come to this conclusion that hdmi 1.4 can in anyway be taken advantage of by the PS3. Here's a little lesson from HMDI.org:

Can older HDMI (v.1.0 - 1.3) devices be firmware-upgraded to take advantage of the new features introduced in HDMI 1.4?

Probably not. Most of the new features introduced in HDMI 1.4 will require a new HDMI chi...
