You're not all of a sudden "more tactical" because you have to dig through 2-3 menus when a shortcut to do the exact same thing can be achieved faster. It most definitely ends by the time you leave Midgar. The entire Midgar storyline has been expanded on though. Most likely fleshes out Wedge, Biggs, Jessie, the Turks, etc. Square really needs to just come out and say this clearly because I've been running into people who think the second disk somehow contains the rest of the entire game. They don't even know how many parts this is going to have.
By all means don't buy it. I'm glad Square is not listening to idiots like you who think its possible to cram the enormity of FF7 into 2-3 disks. No one is going to lose sleep over your empty threats. It'd be like Peter Jackson caving into Studios to cram Lord of the Rings into 1 movie.

The Remake is more a Rebirth. It's the same game but much more expanded probably. Each part is going to be its own full game.

I was too young to feel the impact of her death. I was bummed that I wouldn't have access to her limit breaks anymore.
This isn't just a simple remake, it's a huge monumental task and they're expanding the game. It's also a bit of a risk considering they don't even know if the fan base will like the new remake and sell like the original did. If you have such a problem with it then just wait until all the episodes are finished and wait for a sale on all of them, problem solved.
I'll be okay with episodic as long as it's not like 10 of them (5 max) all priced at $60. Each episode would have to be quite sizable at 20-30 hours each which they already stated that each episode is a full size game.
Exactly, we (or most) of us know all the huge plot points anyway. It would be a huge wasted opportunity if they just had done a pure 1:1 remake with absolutely nothing new but graphics and animation. Perhaps if this had been a PS2 remake, I'd understand but the PS4 and PS5 deserve so much more and I'm glad Square decided to stretch its wings instead of caving to a false sense of misguided nostalgia.
