There certainly have beena lot of clones. I'm sure there will be a many people who try to dissuade the label by using "genre" comparisons but there is a difference between a game being in a certain genre and a game mimicking anothers design.
A competitive, multi-player fighting game with character derived from multiple other games on a 2D plane with a focus on building up damage then defeating your opponent with a powerful super attack is what defines Smash Bro...
The single difference here is money. Nintendo doesn't wipe the developers rectums with it to get games on their system the way Sony and MS do. That is all there is to it.
People seem to be ingoring the "other" third party support that Nintendo has been hitting home with on the Wii U. Indie devs. They've had nothing but praise for the Wii U and more and more jump on board everyday.

Over half of the upgrades are new gamepad features and technical performance increases like added anti-aliasing which are things that cannot be patched into weaker hardware. The few that could would be expense that would likely not be worth the money.
I would like to go through a least one article about the Wii U getting something without someone trying to make an issue involving the PS3, PS4 or 360.

Actually, altogether is around twice as powerful.
On top of the 50% increase in raw gpu horsepower, it also has much more advanced tech in it such as moving from DX9 eqiuvelent graphics to DX10.1 or 11(still not confirmed which is uses) and from Shader Modal 3 to 5.
Its also has over twice as much game usable RAM(the PS3 and 360 dedicated some of their RAM to sound, the os and other system functions. The Wii U gave those things their own RAM pool) and the CPU...
You do know that much older, 20 year old tech swapped much faster than any of this right?

Nintendo didn't rush. Nintendo has stated and shown numerous times that they do not care what Sony/Microsoft does or when they do it. People keep insisting on throwing Nintendo into their console war when Nintendo is not trying fight them, they are doing their own thing as they always have.

That 14,000 is only half of what the much more established consoles with much larger game libraries and install that also had big game releases sold. Once the Wii U starts to get a steady stream of games, it will jump past them into the number 2 spots(I don't see it overtaking the 3DS).

All that means is that, contrary to this sites popular opinion, that people who buy Nintendo hardware are interested in much more than Mario on the systems.

Those same game could have been made in any other engine and they could have been done better than what the unreal engine allowed.
Cryengine is far better game engine than the relative Unreal Engine ever was.

Where did you pull that lie from? Most Wii U ports of PS3/360 games run at a higher or more stable frame rate and have higher resolution textures on top of it. 90% toned down under 30 FPS? That is just absurd.

That is false. The strength of the Wii U is more or less directly halfway between the PS3 and PS4.
Its a technological generation ahead of the last gen consoles in every category. Its 1 generation behind the PS4 and some of the "presumed" Durango specs.

You have some strange friends. Me and most of my friends by Nintendo creative games and for the exsclusives like Bayonetta 2, Wonderful 101 and Monoliths Xeno title.
I've owned every Nintendo console exept the SNES and I had a huge library on each, but 1st party Nintendo games were rarely a part of it aside from Metroid.
Nintendo wouldn't "make them" do anyting. That is the entire reason the Wii and Wii U had so many controller optoins. They are called "options" for a reason.

The Wii U will have major third party support, it will just primarily be from Japan and Europe.
Most games I buy are exclusives that come from Japan(I don't like military shooters) so that will be perfectly fine for me. When games like Bayonetta 2, Monster Hunter, Wonderful 101, Monoliths Xeno title and Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem stop coming to the Wii U, then I will consider there being something to wonder about.
